The Riot MC is facing a storm of problems. The worst being a traitor amongst them.
Nora Ellis never met a biker, until the night Noah “Yak” Spencer came to her rescue after her disastrous bachelorette party. It doesn’t take long for her to see the heart of gold beneath his tough-guy exterior. When Nora finds out her ex-fiancé was cheating, Yak is there. When a dire health crisis threatens to tear her life apart, Yak helps her keep it together. Even though the timing is truly lousy, Nora quickly finds herself longing for more than friendship with the sexy biker…For Nora’s sake, Yak needs to keep his distance. Sure, she’s everything he has ever wanted—gorgeous, smart, and tough as nails. But with the problems she’s facing, Yak decides she's untouchable. Until Nora hints she wants more.
Nora doesn’t belong in his world. Her involvement could get her killed. Still, Yak can’t stay away. As matters with the club become deadly, how far will he go to protect the woman he has grown to love?
Karen Renee is the author of the Riot Motorcycle Club, Beta, and O-Town series of books. She once crunched Nielsen ratings data but these days she brings her imagination to life by writing books. She has wanted to be a writer since she was very young, but it’s taken the last twenty plus years for her to amass enough courage and overall life experience to bring that dream to life. Some of those life experiences came from the wonderful world of advertising, banking, and local television media research. She is a proud wife and mother, and a Jacksonville native. When she’s not at the soccer field or cooking, you can find her at her local library, the grocery store, in her car jamming out to some tunes, or hibernating while she writes and/or reads books.
What a way to meet! It was hard not to feel sorry for Nora from the start, as it seemed like if it wasn't for bad luck, she'd have no luck. Her getting left at the strip club and found by Yak turned out to the best thing for her and that is not counted the romance with Yak. Just by being found by Yak he ended up introducing her to a tribe of people that had her back, even when they barely knew her, helped her through dealing with cancer and were there to celebrate and Yak finally pulled his head out of his ass and went after Nora. Things were all great then, if only there wasn't the little issue within the club and with the rival club. I had guess what was going on, glad that the guys got things taken care of and that for new people are safe and life is looking good for Yak and Nora.
I’ve been following this series throughout and Fighting Riot is another five-star read. This author always seems to be able to bring the heavy right along with the right amount of lightness to her stories. When Yak first sees Nora, he already has this protectiveness over the woman. Things are about to take on a life all of their own even if Yak doesn’t see it coming yet.
This book brought lots of twists and turns, drama and suspense which made it a big page turner for me. I also have to give a shout out to one of the old ladies…Trixie. I look forward to the next book in this series.
Oh, Nora may make you sad. For a second, anyway. Then you’ll get to know her and see just how strong and stubborn she is. I mean, Yak sure fell in a heartbeat, even if he wants to pretend that’s not the case. And then he continues to step up to have Nora’s back and be by her side. Sure, he plays some yo-yo games for a bit, but that’s oddly understandable based on his past and his mindset. I’m not saying you won’t want to have a stern conversation with him, but you won’t want to push him out of the way for anyone else to be with Nora.
And speaking of Nora. She fits in perfectly, even if she thinks she won’t. Or if Yak thinks she won’t. Between Trixie and the other women and Nora’s own personality, Yak is sunk, no matter what. Once he decides that Nora is truly meant to be his for all to know it, it’s full speed ahead. I mean, the danger coming closer to the club and women make Yak more protective than some would expect, but he’s also 100% not letting Nora go.
The concerns about the club also don’t detract from this growing love. There are twists and turns and wondering if you’re right or wrong about the cause, but i promise, it all works as it should in the end. Thanks to how this is all woven together, I am already set to ask the author when her next couple is coming our way!
Clear your schedule after you download this book because once you start reading it, you won’t be able to put it down! Nora has her life literally flipped upside down in the matter of a weekend - a diagnosis, engagement broken and eviction notice. Does that get this spitfire down- maybe for a moment or three. But really who wouldn’t need a minute to digest all of that. Yak finds Nora sleeping in his VIP room at his bar. And in true Riot knight in shining armour, swoops in to ensure Nora will land on her feet. Sparks do fly between these two even during serious conversations. Yak tries to do right by Nora but is he doing what’s best for her or what’s easiest for him? Trixie as always is a witty, snarky spite-fire and I think “just what the doctor order” for Nora as a new friend. This book will have you laughing, in tears, wanting to punch her ex and her so called friends, as well as caught up in a mystery that is occurring at Platinum. Be prepared to NOT want to put this book down until you are finished it!!
LOVED IT! Every so often Kindle acts up and won't let me rate the books I've just finished🤔 Thank goodness there's more than one platform to leave a rating on! Ms Renee Is one of my favorite authors, and I've kept up with this series and I hope she just keeps writing more and more books for the series!😍
From the moment Nora & Yak meet Yak is mesmerized by a bachelorette he calls princess. Meeting under the worst-case scenario doesn't stop Yak from feeling overprotective of a woman he just met. There is so much drama and suspense with this one and the club trying to figure out who is toying with them.
Nora and Yak have something in common when it comes to dealing with the medical condition Nora now finds herself in. We loved Nora she was a fierce little independent warrior and even at her worst she amazed us with the strength and courage she faced every day. We loved how easily she fit in with the old ladies especially Trixie as she is one of my all-time favorite old ladies.
Yak was kind and compassionate and was possessive and protective of a woman who had now entered his life. He finds himself teetering back and forth when it comes to his feelings when it comes to this woman. Like most men in this MC they never feel worthy for the woman they fall for. His dilemma has nothing to do with her illness it has more to do with him letting his past dictate his future. Nora is the perfect woman for Yak they made such a cute couple and they were so cute together they made you smile. From the outside looking in they looked like complete opposites who would not fit but, the easiness of their relationship is something that Yak craves as well as needs.
Overall we enjoyed this installment a lot. Loved that we saw a lot of the MC members and a lot of the old ladies this time around especially Trixie and her match-making ways she is not afraid to give a brother a kick in the pants when she feels he needs it. Nora quickly won the hearts of the men of the club and will have her back with or without being Yak's woman. We loved it and we are loving the series as well.
MC books are my undoing and coming from an author I love it's the cherry on top of the most delicious cake. Karen Renee has managed to keep me hostage with just one book and I can't get enough. Each book is special and twisted with a touch of darkness and so much more. Just go and see for yourself. Fighting A Riot is her latest release and it's the eighth book from the A Riot MC series. This book explores the lives of Nora and Yak. Nora had never seen or had contact with a biker until the moment her hot-as-hell neighbor saved her from a situation. Soon a beautiful friendship forms and she has him in every less than good situation to help her out. Soon those feelings... Yak is not someone you would cross, ever. He has a heart bigger than the world and after only one encounter with Nora, he has this need to protect her at all costs. What started as a friendship starts to change and he needs to keep her away from his life because she to good for that. But... Oh my... I'm in love... Yak is so freaking hot and the way he cared for Nora melted my heart. The things that happened and the way they dealt with it made me read non-stop. Once I started to read this book, I soon realized that it would be impossible to stop so I saw myself ending this book at 8 am... Thank god I didn't have to work that day... This book will show you that no matter the situation you're in, if you have the right people by your side, you will succeed. Love, Loyalty, and friendship are very present in this book as well as betrayal, crime and so much more. If you want to spend some amazing days, grab this entire series from the beginning and dive in. Amazing book Karen. I'm in love... and of course, I want more and more. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
This is the eighth story in this series, and while, yes, you can probably read this as a standalone. I would really suggest reading the series in order, all the past characters have some kind of part in this story, even a few from the Biloxi series. This way it just flows better and you as the reader are not having to guess as to who and what is being referred to. Ok, PSA done, now: HOLY COW what a story this was! I will start with how my heart broke for Nora, it was almost like if not for the bad luck she would have no luck at all, that is until she happened to be woken up by Yak. Yak is shocked at finding the main part of a bachelorette party sleeping behind a table at closing time, once he hears her story, he of course being the good guy he is offers his help, but in the light of day knows that he has to stay away from her. So, he helps and then ghosts, sort of, until he can't stay away. Nora knows what she wants, but she is in no position to go after it. The two are at a stalemate, who will be the first to crack and take what they want?
I won't lie, this was a bit of a hard story to read as far as the subject matter; a few tears were shed, I was in awe at how Nora handled everything. Yak was absolutely perfect for Nora and I loved getting a front row seat at their journey. I give this 5 stars.
I loved the face paced, action packed storyline that Ms. Renee has given us in Fighting Riot. The characters are so well written I felt like I was right there with them living the action/nightmare (depending on who was front and center at the time). Nora has had a really tough week and topping it off is finding out her ex-fiance was cheating on her. The only bright spot in her week was being found unconscious by Noah, aka Yak with the Riot MC, in the MC’s Strip Club where she was attending her bachelorette party. Their attraction to one another is almost instant but both have their reasons for not acting on it. Yak is willing to help her get back on her feet but that’s it, the beauty is too good for the likes of him. But when troubles start happening at the strip club and a possible trader is in the club’s ranks, will they be able to keep the girls and their own women safe? And who seeks to be targeting Nora and Why?
I highly recommend grabbing up Fighting a Riot, you won’t be sorry you did. 2 Thumbs Up and 5+ Stars
Nora Ellis is having the worst night of her life; her fiancé just broke up with her over the phone at her bachelorette party. Her maid of honor Mia suggested she go to a strip bar and now she has been deserted there as well. When Noah “Yak” Spencer shuts Platinum down before he heads home, he finds a passed-out Nora on the floor of one of the private rooms, little does he know this will change everything for them both. I absolutely loved this story but like the other Riot MC stories this one was just as good if not better. Karen Renee’s Riot MC series is simply amazing, and I love how none of the men and women are perfect. Trixie kept me laughing during the entire book. Highly recommend this author, series, and book.
~~~~~~~~~~Julie's ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Review~~~~~~~~~~
Nora and Noah might meet by chance but fate is written all of them. Nora is so far down on her luck that there really isn’t any lower to go. Noah is all alpha and 100% protective. Great writing.
This is the 8th book in this phenomenal series, and this is Noah / Yak and Nora’s journey. Nora has never met a biker before, until Yak who is gruff, grumpy, and overprotective with a huge heart, comes to her rescue on the worst night of her life. Nora is not looking for a relationship after finding out about the cheating ex-fiancé, and they form a friendship, which develops into more over time. This is a well written fast paced, action packed, emotional roller coaster, with friends / lovers, suspense, danger, intrigue, humor, romance, and love, which leads to an entertaining, haunting, tragic, twisted, unpredictable, heartfelt, and steamy addictive page turner. I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend.
I kept turning the pages of this story. The journey of Yak and Nora enthralled me. Yak was so protective from the start, not being able to let her go with anyone other than himself. Nora's life had taken a downward trend being jilted and diagnosed with cancer. For most of the time, she was strong and determined to connect with Yak. I loved the brotherhood and sisterhood of the Riot MC in helping and supporting each other. On a personal note, I sympathized with Nora as I have been there. Her low moments brought back my journey. Support all round was key, and it was great to see it here.
I received a copy through Enticing Journey Book Promotions, and this is my unsolicited review.
I vaguely recall something being mentioned at Lisa’s shop opening about Yaks friend being ill, which i forgot till i started reading about Nora and Yak. Nora tells him from the off that she has cancer after he finds her asleep in the strip after closing. He is amazing supporting her, through this, a double betrayal and no end of crap the universe dumps on this lovely woman.
Yak doesn't need any woman to tie him down. And Nora doesn't need any man, especially since her fiancee cheated on her. But when Nora has some major life catastrophes occur, both of them change their minds. Instalove (with initial denial), and several tough trigger plots make this book a very emotional read. Highly recommend!
Wow. I absolutely loved this book. It had everything and kept you guessing. I couldn't put book down once started.
I loved Yak and Nora together, how they met was heartbreaking. But they made it work. It felt like it was meant to be when they met. They fought their feelings, but they finally gave in.
Great storyline! Nora is out celebrating her upcoming wedding with friends when she is dumped at her bachelorette's party. Noah finds her past out in a backroom. Yak thinks Nora is strong woman to be going through cancer with out her ex. Yak and Nora have some strong chemistry going on.
I so enjoyed reading this series and what makes it more fun is knowing the places they go. I love the pizza at Carmines, and love to visit European street which actually my daughter who lives in Jacksonville calls it E Street. I highly recommend this series you will fall in love with all of them.
This is a MC Romantic Suspense, and this is the 8th book in the Riot MC Series. I have read the other books in this series before picking up this before. I really have enjoyed this book and this series. I love the characters in this book and series. I was pulled into this story from the first page, and I did not want to put this book down.
Do like this series and know some of tge characters. Noah and Nora were so well suited and enjoyed the camaraderie from both guys and gals. Have to say the friend and ex fiancé got off far too lightly. Yes there was a mc business to take care of but overall it was their journey. Okay read, not a keeper.
Nora and Noah might meet by chance but fate is written all of them. Nora is so far down on her luck that there really isn’t any lower to go. Noah is all alpha and 100% protective. Great writing.
Loved Yak and Nora! But I have to say, for some reason the cover does not match what I pictured him looking like. If anyone ever had bad luck it is definitely Nora. There are definitely twists in the book you won’t see coming, enough action to keep you going. I loved this story!
Absolutely loved Nora & Yak story! It was sweet, funny, & spicy! I love a good book where the two main characters are complete opposite in all aspects but they can’t help the attraction & fight it. Look forward to next Riot book!
Very boring. Kept waiting for it to get better but it never did. Slow pace and stiff dialogue. I had no interest in any of the characters. Skimmed to finish.
If you are a sucker for an intense, growly, over-protective, gruff biker with a heart of gold, even though he doesn't realize it, then this is the book for you!
When Noah (Yak) stumbles across Nora after a disastrous bachelorette party, his protective instincts tell him to take care of her. The more he learns about her, the more he has to fight the pull he feels toward her. Nora is dealing with a lot of heavy things and appreciates that Yak wants to take care of her, but has to work to convince him he is a good man.
As with all of her books, Karen Renee again manages to combine the right amounts of levity, heartfelt story-telling, scorching romantic scenes, and humor to balance the dangers and perils that her characters experience, leaving the reader thirsty for more!
Fighting a Riot is a standalone MC novel that is part of the interconnected Riot MC Series.
Fighting a Riot by Karen Renee 5 stars due 11/17/23 Yak & Nora
The only luck she had was bad—all bad. At least until Yak finds her in a private room of their strip club after hours. She was still wearing the crown and such that identified her as the bride from the bachelorette party Yak, club manager, remembered. Without her purse or phone, he drove her home where more bad luck awaited.
Yak didn't want to stay around the woman who made him feel things he couldn't allow. She deserved better than him. When he learned she was suffering from what killed his parents he knew he couldn't just leave her to fend for herself since her jerk of a fiance had broken up with her over the phone during her party. There was more bad.
While fighting his feelings and watching out for Nora, he and the club are dealing with enemies targeting their business club and the MC. Will the attacks stop? Will they find the guilty ones? Is there an enemy among their brothers?
So many questions, and problems, in this great read. They are good together and the reader will be a fan of them from the start. Heat, emotions, loyalty, humor and so much more. Let's not leave out the ole ladies who spread their own strength and humor, as well as tormenting the men who love and protect them. They take Nora under their wing as well.
