Gah. The people giving this more than two stars are being way too nice. I really don't like this, in retrospect. Strangely enough, it seemed really good at the time.
I strongly recommend "King of Blades" instead, especially if you enjoyed the "Beowulf" mythos. This book ... eesh. There's just too much in here that I don't like. A first novel. A first horror novel. I will personally apologize to anyone who bought this book. Email me grendelguy@aim.com
This is a good story, plain and simple. Brosky pulled me in right away and kept my attention rapt throughout. I had to know what was going to happen, what next. I really got into it. I cared. A lot of books don't give me that sense of urgency. That need to keep reading right away. I enjoyed it immensely.
