Stefan Wolf is the best-known of many pseudonyms of German author Rolf Kalmuczak (1938 - 2007).
He is best remembered as the creator of TKKG, a highly successful series of children's and young adult books and audio dramas about a group of four friends who solve crimes.
I have NO idea what book John P read and reviewed but it certainly wasn't the one i read!
I'm always highly suspicious about these "Tips and Tricks"for books about Amazon devices. They are usually just useless depressing (if that much) of free documentation has available online. A very shady little cottage industry.
But this book is NOT one of those! There is a LOT of great information in this book!
And,yes,i am using a Fire HD10 ,just like John,so i don't know what his trouble was. I'm running the 2019 version and i suspect John might have been to because out feels slightly like it might have written for the 2017 version but out is still chock full of good information that worked as written the vast majority of the time and when it wasn't exactly right it wasn't hard to figure out the differences. (I do wish, though, that the kindle attire would list published and lay updates dates for books).
At any rate,if you own a Fire HD, buy this book.for a laughably small investment you'll be rewarded with a treasure trove of useful information.
I purchased this book for help with my new Kindle Fire HD 10. Big mistake, and I wish it had been made clear somewhere in the book's Amazon page which Fire versions were covered, because the HD 10 certainly is not one of them.
This book is terrible if you think it is going to help you with your HD 10, and still pretty bad even if you have a Kindle version that is covered by the book. This is because it is poorly written, full of typographical and grammatical errors and it seems as if the author's native language is not English. Either that or it started life in another language and has been shoddily translated. As if all of that isn't bad enough, many of the links are broken or out of date.
At the end of the day, I got about six usable tips out of the 101 provided by the book. For me the book was a frustrating waste of time. I hate to do this, but I just cannot recommend it.
This book was not written for the 2019 tablets, but then that's why it was priced low. That said, there was useful information and shortcuts.
What I know about the Fire Tablets I learned by trial and error. As I told friends, "You can't mess it up. If you run into a problem, back out". I discovered things to try. If I run into a problem, I'll just back out.
Mostly covers things that wouldn't be hard for someone who's used a tablet or smartphone to sort out. Some of the tips concerning downloads from outside sources should be taken with a bit of care. Also, it's possible that not all the tips will concern your specific fire.
It was okay... I could do all these steps already so it was like
I chose this rating because this was for beginners in electronics period if anybofy knows anything about nowday electronics they akready know whzt this book contains
"Tips and tricks", useful information. Not necessarily for my Fire 10. I have a 7 I'm going to do some of the Tips or Tricks on muy Fire 🔥7; specifically the Rooting information.
I'm new to Kindle stuff, I just got a a HD10, and learned a lot. I gave it 4 because it is based on an older version (mine has USB c, no HDMI and newer OS) All in all a lot of good things for a quick read.
I was looking for tips for the Kindle Fire HD 10, but this is not what I thought it would be. It doesn't say when it was written but none of the information is relevant. It was not helpful at all.
Easy reading and I especially liked if I was in a certain chapter and they were talking about an app you could just press here and it took you to that app
Lots of ideas and tips to help using your kindle easier. Some tips are rather common sense, but others can help you to troubleshoot issues you may have or will have later.
Even though I'm on my second Kindle Fire I was curious about this book. It was well worth the time to read it and I did discover some tips and tricks that were new to me.
This book was probably good in its day but is less relevant if not counterproductive with more modern devices (Where is the HDMI hole? It doesn't know from MicroSD cards). Use it with a large grain of salt!
