I found this book very informative. Thurston has a great language that manages to convey complex historical settings in a tangible language that's quite digestible. I certainly learned a lot from reading it - which is good because I'm doing my master's thesis on a similar topic.

Now I just need to get my two thesis buddies to read it too... or well, at least get them to read my extensive notes taken while reading the book ✍️🤓
