The book is sweet. It’s about a couple who married two weeks after they met, divorced 6 months later and remarried 10 months after that with some assistance from heroine’s dad. The only problem is there’s nothing memorable or original about the plot. There could have been emotional moments like when she made a caserole and the hero wondered how come he never tasted her cooking before and she retorted because he was never home. But that's it! The feelings just simmered and never boiled over.

The guy was a hard-nosed investigative journalist who was out all night and the immature heroine got fed up of waiting and worrying at night and left after he got shot in the job. She returned to her father to work in their family-owned town newspaper but the guy gave up his job to follow her and run the paper for her dad to her vexation.

I think a better journalist-makes-a-career-change book would be Lucy Gordon’s The Pregnancy Bond. But this book is the 2nd of three books about the Calhoun Brothers so I had to read it, obsessive that I am. The books in this series are: Cats in the Belfry, The Real McCoy, and Two-Parent Family.
