I found this book uniquely interesting because the author was able to give an overview of general African spiritual/religious world views and how they have been altered, corrupted, broken, and forgotten by the actions of colonialism. While her general view at African spiritualism did worry me a little because generalization can lead to certain groups being removed or ostracized, I still felt that the author did a very good job of making her point and providing a starting point for analyzing African and African-American spirituality especially after the introduction of Western thought and colonialism in these cultures. It felt like there was a lot of information packed into the 60 pages of this book.

This is definitely something i plan to utilize as a guide for organizing + spirituality. Very informative, very comforting. Its crazy to see practices ive become so accustomed to over the course of my life being explained back to me in such good prose, explaining to me that im already spiritual without recognizing.
