:D So much fun! And while I love all of the characters, I think Vartan is my favorite with how sarcastic he can be. ;) Plus, all of the "break the cutie" scenarios he has to go through rather redeem the elves of D&D in my eyes through him. :) And while he's not a complete jerk, he can be very sarcastic quite often. Lol ;) my favorite kind of character.
But I Love the camaraderie of the whole crew of the Realms Master!!! It reminds me of the friendships of the crew of Star Trek shows, or of the Fantastic Four comics. :) It's heartwarming. <3
If you loved the old 80's and 90's superhero cartoons like X-Men and Spiderman and suchlike, then you will likely enjoy this comic.
Plus, Vartan makes some of the silliest faces too! XD Lol! Several like the famous "Laughing Elf" picture ;). Like I said, he's a fun character! And if you've grown to resent elves for being too 'perfect' and arrogant, then get to know Vartan - he might remind you of why you used to like the elves all those years ago. ;)

I used to read this comic when it was a monthly title, not religiously but I would pick up an occasional comic. In my memory it was a good read so when I saw they released two Omnibus books that contained the entire run of the comic I jumped at it and bought both.

Wow

That was a mistake

Sometimes the things you enjoyed at 13 really weren't that good.
Rambling plot
Mediocre art
Forgettable and uninteresting characters

I've read worse but this was a chore to finish (I still have the second Omnibus to read)

This took me way too long purely because I wasn't enjoying some parts of it. Very old school. Found the writing a little over the top most of the time

Interesting start to the series. In particular, I think the first 12 issues handle the "big names" among Forgotten Realms characters (Elminster, Alias), fairly well. I'm looking forward to the next volume. Expect a longer review on Bureau42.com
