Since I haven't read volume 2 or 4 of the original main series Mirage run of the turtles I think maybe I didn't get the full value out of this, but they are enjoyable stories.

I love a good tmnt comic. This collection is from Tales of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Vol 2 from Mirage Studios in the 2000s which was one of my favorite comics at the time. This series being collected is the best. I read all these issues back when they first came out and seeing them again is amazing. The first story (issue 5) is a masterpiece. The black on white cutout comic is one of my favorite tmnt comics of all time. The art by Jim Lawson defined the turtles for me. His style was the face of the tmnt comics for years. If you’ve never read his stuff you should pick it up. The other three stories are decent. They’re fun but not as good as the first story.

If you’re a TMNT fan you should pick up Tales of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Volume 4 and see what could have happened to the turtles in the original storyline. They’re fun and a different take on the turtles than what’s currently being published.

I liked the fact that each story was complete unto itself (they all started with,"Let me tell you a story. . ." Pretty violent, however, and all the turtles wore red bandanas so it was difficult to tell them apart especially if their weapons weren't visible.
