She knew destiny came in many forms, but she didn’t know hers would come with claws and fur.
Breana lived in a safe community in a world forever changed, but she couldn't shake the feeling there was something more out there waiting for her.
With her late grandfather's journal as her guide, Breana leaves the safety of her home and sets off on an adventure to discover her true destiny beyond the mountainous cage of Neli.
Though grateful for the journal, it did little to prepare her for the fantastical lands and creatures awaiting her — a fact that becomes startlingly obvious when she encounters people who shift into wolves.
Curiosity and something she can’t quite explain draws her to their dangerous and enigmatic leader, Dom. And as their worlds collide, they discover their destinies are intertwined.
As their relationship grows, so too does the danger surrounding them. In a world where supernatural creatures roam and magic is real, there's no telling what could happen next. But Breana is determined to find her happily ever after, no matter the cost.
Read Neli today and dive into Breana’s adventure!

The After Series is a thrilling and adventurous post-apocalyptic romantic fantasy with a new take on some of our beloved supernatural creatures, including werewolves, fairies, Ries (not-quite fairies), vampires, werebears, werecats, phoenixes, and more. Let’s not forget magic, there’s some of that too. This series contains mature content (please see the copyright page in the book preview or on the author's website for details). ** This is a completed trilogy (Neli, T’cola, and Laas) and should be read in order. **
C. Sunrise is a Canadian author who spends too much of her "spare" time in the great Canadian outdoors and takes way too many pictures of her dogs and wildlife (and the beautiful scenery, of course). She claims she hasn't spotted a werewolf, bear shifter, or Sasquatch... yet.
After many years of melting her brain with copious amounts of non-fiction research and writing, she rediscovered the joy of reading and writing for entertainment purposes. Now she writes stories filled with fantastical creatures and realms, magic, romance (with a dash of spice), and unique journeys to happily ever after.
C. Sunrise welcomes you to come join her on a fantastical adventure!

**You may encounter Canadian English in C. Sunrise's books (meaning she adds a bonus “u” to some words, flips “er” around once in a while, etc.).
Can I write a review just filled with heart emojis?? Is that okay??? While I don’t think that would be a bad thing I also don’t think it would give you any idea about the book.
The story is a little slow to start as the writer spends a lot of time setting the scene and building the characters. This is important so that you can grasp the surroundings of the world and develop an understanding of the different beings that exist here. I honestly feel like I still don’t have a full grasp on all the characters/creatures even though I have completed the book. This had me wanting more. I want to know more about the Before and more about the event that caused the After. I’m totally here for a prequel that focuses on the events that created the After.
Some sections are really well written, while others seem a bit hurried and not quite finished. It’s a shame because the story is good and I want to learn more about the characters. And the special language the fmc and some others speak, just a few words, at most a small sentence, is mostly pulling me out of the reading. Because there’s no “how to read it”, some things are understandable but otherwise it just made me sigh and quick read..
The format and misspelling and even a sentence is missing its other half, it just brings it down.. but I’m starting the second book now, so between 3 and 3.5 ⭐️
This is book one of the After series. It is a paranormal fantasy romance. This story has a dystopian feel to it with supernatural creatures that we are familiar with but these a re a little different. Amazing world building that is detailed and imaginable. Fascinating characters that are well developed and diverse. The storyline is fast-paced and very well written, filled with magic, Fae, danger, death, politics, intrigue, and subterfuge. I can’t wait to read the rest of this series.
This story was so visual and interesting as Breana walks away from “everything you could hope for” to find something more, an adventure, challenge, and a place to belong. But even her new beginning can be dangerous and full of peril for her. Is she ready for the challenge? Are we?
This is such a great book. I love the way that the author took the time to lay the foundations of a great story. The scenes were so well described that you could imagine yourself there. You got to know the characters so well that you felt you knew them and understood why they made the decisions they did. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and cannot wait to read the rest of the series.
this was a strong start to the After series, it had everything that I was expecting from the description. I enjoyed how different the use of werewolves were and that the fantasy element worked with that concept. C. Sunrise has a great writing style and the characters felt like they were supposed to. It left me excited to read more in this series and from the author.
I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
