As someone just starting to learn the Python programming language, this gave me a VERY basic grounding on the syntax, operators, data types, and a few functions. However, it's sorely lacking in genuine code examples, exercises, and some basic concepts like loops and input. This is more like a warm-up (or appetizer?) than an actual workbook -- I want to learn more about Python and, hey, I can go into my next source with at least a few concepts in mind.

Definitely an easy read compared to any other official documentation. The introduction is ultra basic with straight forward examples. I read it for free through the library's hoopla option, but do not think it should be purchased as it is basically an introductory tutorial.
The writing was clear with few grammatical errors and a few syntax errors in the code examples.

This is a book that attempts to get somebody started, & interested, in the Python programming language. This is probably not a good way to start. I went through it & there were syntax errors that the author does not try to anticipate. I would not recommend reading this & would instead suggest online tutorials for really basic stuff.

A complete waste of money

40 pages covering the absolute minimum. Its not going to teach you anything and nothing specific to python. The only program you would be able to write after reading this is Hello World and thats because its in the book.

Only covers Python 2
