It was love, pure and simple, which hit Maggi straight between the eyes, when lawyer John Dailey stepped over her threshold - carrying two small bundles of joy. John himself, though, aroused feelings in her of a different kind. One minute he was infuriating beyond belief, the next charming and kind. Maggi had resolved not to give the silver-tongued Irishman an inch, but their enforced proximity - brought about by the raising of those delicious twin baby girls - meant she'd be lucky if, soon, even that distance existed between them!

"Doubly Delicious" is the story of Maggi and John.
Firstly, I really loved the blurb and cover, and expected this to be an amazing romance. Alas, disappointed.
Our h is a widow, who is struggling to make a living running her own bed and breakfast joint. When a stranger shows up at her door with adorable pair of twin girls, they instantly steal her heart. However, she soon finds out that they are orphaned nieces of an elderly neighbor she had looked out for, and upon her death has been giving their responsibility!
She soon hires the solicitor who brought them as her nanny, and how she manages having kids, while keeping her finances afloat and fighting her attraction to the man forms the story.
I feel this could have been so much better..but it was not. The h was kinda shrewd and cynical, and instead of a sweet romance with the H and kids, we kinda saw her inner monologues and conflicts most of the time. I feel she was way more antagonistic that I'd have liked her to be, and the OM plot was annoying.
Rating 3.5 stars I find EG's characters a bit weird and her writing too but there were things in this book I liked.
a)The HERO was normal looking (the heroine called him UGLY), he wasn't rich and he becomes a NANNY!!
b)The heroine is a widow and she misses sex and isn't an instant mother.
c)I actually felt they were falling for each other.
The heroine's neighbour leaves the heroine her belongings and grand-children which the hero brings from Ireland. He stays on to take care of the kids and the heroine is attracted to him.
This book was really dated and I wanted to smack the life out of both the main leads honestly. I think if it was updated and the leads tweaked a bit I might be a pretty good short read but as is it sucks sorry folks.
