New girl Emily is crushing on Scott, but...oh noes! Someone tells Emily that *maybe* Scott is “going with” Plot Contrivance Mean Girl Heather. Does Emily ask Scott about this to avoid weeks of angst? Oh Reader, we’re on book #22 of this series, you should know better by now! We’re going to drag this ridiculous melodrama out to the very last second with a looong string of improbable and silly Big Understandings! Fun will be had by all!
In the B story Jonathan feelingz are hurt when Fiona chooses to dance the lead in a ballet over their junior prom. Waaa...poor Jonathan! Let’s all take a moment to pay homage to his feelings, shall we? Okay, moving on. After Emily tricks J into attending the ballet he realizes that Fiona loves dance. Dude! Shouldn’t you have *already* known this? No matter! Now the eleventy billion people in this friend group are back “in love” and all is well in Rose Hill.
