Anne Marie Winston is a Pennsylvania native and former teacher. She began reading romances a long, long time ago and considers getting paid to write them the ultimate in occupations. Always a book lover, Anne Marie didn't begin writing her own romance until 1989, when she was at home with two babies, too many diapers and too much time to consider insane, risky career moves. She sold her first book in 1991 and to date has published more than thirty novels of romance fiction.

This was much better than I anticipated.

The h has known the H for years, and has worked as a nanny for the past three since his wife died. The story begins when the h tells him they should get married. He thinks it's a joke, but she's not kidding.

Once he makes it clear he's not interested, she turns tropes on end by moving on. He has to look for another baby-sitter, and he sees signs that she has moved on from new clothes to new guys. She still stays in touch with his little girl so she's not a cold chick, but she makes it clear in a, shock, grown up way that the old deal won't do.

Both characters were very believable to me. The H is a solid guy, totally clueless to what she means to him, and happy to just float along. Hmm, do we know any men like that? I sure do. Slowly the two come together as he is overwhelmed by his attraction to her. The development is slower and more natural than it sounds, and the chemistry is hot!!!

The ending drops off a bit at the end. The daughter, who is adorable, is not seen much at the end, and the h's desire for a real wedding is shuffled aside as is her disappointment in his lack of confidence.

A four star heroine in a three star book.

While I liked that after years of unrequited loving Kristin finally stood up for herself and set her life straight, I never got over the fact how much younger than Derek she was. Romances with age differences can definitely work, but here I thought that the power dynamics between them never really balanced out. In the end I didn't really feel that they had an equal relationship, and I need the hero and heroine to be equals to really feel the romance.

Sorry
This was real bad
Finally i thought we have an h who proposed the H as she was in love but when he rejected it , she decided she deserved better and walked out, i was so happy that something great will come up, but nope!!!
It was downhill from thereafter, i mean the h was really needy, whiny and frankly second best to the H and it was disappointing to see her go down that lane after such a splendid start, she knew the H will never love her nor does he in spite of his declarations it was more lip service then any other sentiments, how can she be blind but then again she is happy being second best so be it.

ANd H what a crap and shitty person
Selfish to the core, scared of losing his one dedicated baby sitter who seems to care more about him and his daughter then herself and then with wardrobe change she got pretty so sex added bonus.
Fuck!!! the way he has doubts till the end plus the way he ran roughshod over her marriage plans n all

So disappointed

: Heroine has been helping hero out by babysitting his daughter since his wife died. She announces that he ought to marry her, and when he recoils in shock, she decides it’s time to move on with her life. She’s been in love with him a while, but if he can’t love her back, she needs to make some changes. Of course, he realizes he loves her, but it’s a nice story getting there.
