Against all odds, Wes Cervos has finally found the Remnant. New information about the High One’s plan is brought to light, but as he soon finds out, knowing the right path to take is just the beginning.
The elves are forcing their way into the heart of Kaveryth by the thousands, and they will kill anyone who stands in their way. The remaining Guardians fight bravely, but their numbers are few. The army of Auranth is strong, but they don't have enough men to stop the onslaught. Not without forging a costly alliance with the help of Princess Kessara.
As the citizens of the Four Kingdoms struggle to hold their ground against the invaders, a more important battle is waiting on the plains of Nox, and these enemies cannot be defeated with swords and arrows. Complicating the situation further, the Envoy’s illness has gotten worse, and if he gets too close to the darkness, he will die.
Wes knows that he may be called to lay down his life to serve the High One. But when the lives of his friends are on the line, will he have enough faith to accept their help?
Storm & Spire is a Christian fantasy series, perfect for readers who enjoy fantastical creatures, political intrigue, and a touch of clean romance.
I simply do not know where to start, so I am just going to start typing and hope that something coherent will result.
This is a story (the entire series, but especially this tragic, yet beautiful finale) that is dear to my heart.
Themes of...
........ sacrificing for the High One's sovereign plan, ........ accepting the High One's plan even when it is HARD, and ........ relying on the High One for the strength needed to fulfil His calling and accepting the fact that it may result in the ultimate sacrifice...
......................abound in this story.
The ending is bittersweet--not completely what I would have wished. But it is good, and it is right, at least in the world of this story.🥹 If you are prone to crying during sad stories, then read with a box of tissues nearby.
The characters come alive on the page and in our hearts. They struggle to believe, to obey, to love, to trust, to be humble, to be content. Their struggles are incredibly relatable, and I will miss these characters immensely. I rooted for them from the beginning of this series all the way to the end. Especially in this installment, I found myself wanting to step into the pages to help them in their various battles.
The plot is about reorienting a rebellious world to the High One's plan. It is not easy. The path is not always clear. Like the world needing to be reoriented, the characters likewise have to constantly reorient themselves to the High One's ways, Word, and heart in order to move forward step by step.
Lozinski uses words beautifully to convey deep truths of the Christian faith. I did a lot of highlighting, and I will share some here. Some need to be behind spoilers--click at your own risk.😊
⁕Quotes⁕ (🚨🚨🚨⬇️Beware of revealed spoilers for those of you on android phones!!⬇️🚨🚨🚨)
The very appropriate opening quote by G.K. Chesterton: "Happiness is not only a hope, but also in some strange manner a memory...we are all kings in exile."
"The High One was out there, somewhere, apart from the world and yet filling every inch of it."
"She looked up, up, up at the blue and the emptiness, wanting to see Him, wanting to see any evidence that He was there, any shred of hope to hold on to. 'I believe in You, High One. Help me to believe.'" (A direct nod, I am sure to Scripture where the desperate father begs Jesus, "I believe; help my unbelief!")
"He was on their side, and they would not fall. Not until all was finished."🥹
🚨⬇️A view on justice that I can agree with: ⬇️🚨
🚨⬇️A beautiful perspective on death for the believer: ⬇️🚨
God gives grace when we need it: "She drew a breath, searching for the warmth that was still within her, calling upon the grace that was waiting for her when she needed it most."
There are many more beautiful quotes, but I want you to go find them yourself, not reveal them all here. Some are even more beautiful than the ones I quoted. [*The last lines in the final chapter (not epilogue), for instance!*]
⁕Elements I appreciated besides what I stated above include:⁕
1. The nod to adoption being a worthy manner in which God forms families. This adoptive mama always appreciates that! 2. The acknowledgment that, while weddings can be beautiful, it is the marriage that is even more worthy of effort and praise. 3. The beautiful expressions of Christian values including honoring God in sexual abstinence prior to marriage, the value of all life, including the life of the pre-born, God's gracious forgiveness to even the worst of sinners, and there are many more.💜
⁕Elements I thought could have been improved:⁕
1. 🚨The Farplace is
2. The Bread of Hope...This was a little vague to me. Is it an allusion to Christ as the Bread of Life? Is it a reference to the Eucharist in Catholic belief? Maybe it is supposed to be generally symbollic of God's blessings with hints of the Eucharist or maybe it is supposed to be more clearly the Eucharist even without a Christ-like character. I wish it had been explored more. I got the general point, but, like I said, it seemed vague to me.
3. 🚨The water illness...
4. There is a portion where someone is going to express their belief in the High One. The person already believes, but a bit more emphasis on the *words* the person says is emphasized than I was comfortable with. The Bible says that it is grace through faith alone that saves a person, so I do not know why there was sort of a big deal made about the right words being said. The person already had the faith. There wasn't so much stress on this in the belief of the others. They just believed.
5. 🚨I would have liked to have known more about
I received a free digital copy from the author. All opinions of this wonderful story are my own.😊 I highly recommend this book and entire series!
I leave you with a quote I loved regarding one of the romances in this story: "For whatever reason, whatever plan of the High One, the two of them had been drawn to one another from the start, a fierce sea rushing toward a rocky shore."🥰
※First Reaction After Finishing※
Beautiful and tragic. LOTR-ish, epic tale of a journey to save the world, only with more explicitly Christian content.
“I want to make my choices each day and rest easy. Because it’s not all on my shoulders, not really. In the end, it is the High One who holds us all in His hand.”
I knew someone would have to die but I wasn’t ready😭
That being said, this was an amazing conclusion to the series and my favourite element has to be the fact that this series started with Wes and Celesyria meeting at Whitespire and it ended with them saving the world there too.
I finished this yesterday but had to let my heart recover before I could write a review...my goodness! That was a ride of a finale!
Characters: Everyone is back for the grand finale and just...wow! Wes, the poor guy...I just want to hug him and cheer him on and hug him again! Kessara is just as stubborn as always, and I love her unwillingness to give up. Alder is awesome! He is so strong and ready to do whatever for his friends. Aelrie is so sweet and unsure and just *hugs* Celesyria! My poor darling! *hugs her* I love you! And there were so many others that were just great!
Themes: That light always conquers darkness. That matter how deep that darkness is, we are never alone in it, and God is always there. That God golds u through everything, and he never leaves! Beautiful, beautiful themes! It was amazing!
Language: N/A
Romance: Some kisses, some hugs, some mentions of how much characters love each other.
Magic: The great obelisk is sort of magical, but honestly, it's more an illusion of the darkness than any real magic. There are no spells or anything like that. There is a curse, but it basically happens when you drink water and gives you headaches and fatigue when near the darkness and evil...so nothing weird.
Overall: I really enjoyed this series, and the ending was perfect! Albeit a tear jerker of an ending, but still so well done! I have thoroughly enjoyed reading the series! And recommend to readers age 14+!
*I received a free copy of this book from the author but was not required to leave a good review. All thoughts and opinions expressed above are entirely my own.*
Manifest is the fifth and final book in the Storm and Spire series, and it does not disappoint. The whole book had me on the edge of my seat. There was so much tension, not only because there are four previous books in the series where we get to know the characters and immerse ourselves in the plot, but also because the author writes multiple character perspectives, which makes it easy to become totally engaged in the story. This does not take the reader out of the story, as some books written with multiple perspectives might sometimes; in all of the Storm and Spire books, it further establishes the plot, gives the reader a wider view of the characters and story as a whole, and drives everything forward.
Not only is this whole series worth your time, but it is also one of the best series that I have ever read. The plot is exciting, the characters are very much alive, and BONUS POINTS: it is Christian fiction!!
My opinion that these books deserve to be placed in the "Narnia, Lord of the Rings" category of Christian fiction is stronger than ever. After reading the final book, I can safely and confidently repeat that any fan of those two series will enjoy Storm and Spire.
Here are some of my favorite things about Manifest and the Storm and Spire series in general:
* To me, Wes is like Frodo (book-Frodo, not so much movie-Frodo lol), Celesyria is Sam, Meira Daeleth is basically the Witch King of Angmar, and Alder and Kessara are a little bit like Aragorn and Arwen. Even though all of these characters hold their own in Storm and Spire, I began seeing little connections once the book was done and I was in severe book hangover. 😂 This made me love them even more.
* The battle of good vs. evil literally feels almost hopeless until the very end at the final climax, which, to me, screamed Return of the King, and I LOVED every bit of it.
* Like The Return of the King, everything is tied up neatly, and I was left feeling almost lost in the real world after putting Manifest down because, "It's done... it's over." I kind of felt like Sam and Frodo leaning on Mount Doom after the Ring was destroyed to be honest. 😂
* Not only did some themes of this book remind me of my beloved Lord of the Rings, but I also couldn't help but make real-life connections to certain themes the book had. This made the book (and characters and plot) even more easy to connect to and become immersed in.
* I cried. Boy did I cry. 🤣
* Even though there are a variety of characters, I didn't find it too difficult to keep track of who was who. Which is HUGE for me. 😂
Finally, I highly recommend this series. If you are a Narnia and/or Middle Earth fan, I believe you will love it. But even if you are not really a fan, or haven't read Lewis or Tolkien's beloved books or watched the films... even if you are not a fantasy reader, give this series a chance because I think it just might become your next favorite read!
NOTE: I received a free copy of this book from the author. Opinions are my own. ❤
This book was awesome! I loved it and it was an amazing conclusion to the story!!!
Actual Review:
I've been in shock for hours and I don't think it'll stop anytime soon.(Life lesson: don't finish your favorite series and watch a mind-blowing episode of the sequel to your favorite show the same day.) This was amazing! It wrapped up the series perfectly and it was so awesome, and I just loved it. I rarely had five minutes of reading where I wasn't internally squealing.
Everything we learned at the end of Maker comes to a head, as does the war itself, culminating in epic battles and other scenes that make your heart melt.🫠 I loved each and every one of the characters even more than I did before, and started to like some characters that I formerly hated. And then there were some that I just hated even more(*ahem*). I loved all the themes of God's everlasting love and His power and provision. I feel like I can't say anything so I will add a bunch of ranting in spoilers. XD
All in all, this was an AMAZING conclusion to the Storm and Spire series which is 100% one of my favorite series ever. I'm a bit of a maniac right now and have been since I finished this book. But it was SO GOOD and I highly recommend it to all fantasy lovers in the whole world!!!!(13+)
In this epic conclusion of the Storm and Spire series, I cried, I cheered, and I remembered that life can be tough, but faith makes it easier. There were parallels to Return of the King in this book, and the struggle against darkness was hard to read at times. Yet, Wes's story is one that I had to see to the end, and I'm so glad I did. The conclusion of this series is bittersweet. It isn't happily ever after, but it is a reminder that the Bread of Life brings hope and light to the nations. And that? That makes it a powerful book to read.
Amazing! Spectacular! Wonderful! Plus-many-more-adjectives-that-I-won’t-add-because-they-would-take-up-this-entire-review! This was a great finale to the Storm and Spire series. I will admit until the last 10 chapters it wasn’t quite as attention-grasping as Maelstrom or Maker. However, the ending was magnificent! It resolved all the major questions and only left a few minor ones that weren’t super important. This was a spectacular ending to the series and I can’t wait to see whatever else Mrs Lozinski writes!
This book wrapped up the series amazingly! It had me on the edge of my seat at times. One thing I would have liked to have seen was justice come to Drohma. Overall a great read!
What to say about this last book in this fantasy series that has won my heart? I guess that's it: it has won my heart.
There were so many moments in this book that had me holding my breath, heart racing, not knowing what was going to happen. I mean, who has heart-felt emotions about dragons, dwarves, and elves? I do, that's who. And when you read this series, you'll feel deep emotion for each character, too. Whether that emotion is good or bad will be your call, but there will be no indifference.
I really have nothing else to say. This book-this series-has it all: emotion, action, adventure, suspense, and the High One, Who is over it all.
~I was given a complimentary copy of this book. No positive review was required, and all opinions are my own.~
OH. MY. GOODNESS. 😃😭 I was so wondering how this series was going to conclude and was DEFINITELY NOT disappointed!!! This book was so tear jerking, I cried so much during it! And it also had so many sweet moments! I love the characters so much more after this fifth installment, and am sad that it’s not continuing 😭 Manifest was definitely an emotional roller coaster for me! When Celesyria died I couldn’t help the tears from coming, and Wes, 😢 I thought he died at the last chapter but he didn’t?! And Aelrie and Wes’ kids names 🥹 Anyway, I just finished this book, and probably not the best time to write a review shortly after I finished this, but whatever 🤩 This book will have you at the edge of your seat, engrossed into the story, wondering what will happen next! If you are looking for an awesome, wonderful, indescribable Christian fantasy series, grab the previous books, read, and come to Manifest! I assure you you will not be disappointed!!!! 😀🤧

"The bond of blood is real, and it matters, but the High One can create families however He wills"
It is finished! I still remember the first time I read the first book from these series. I felt so much emotions and this book helped me escape reality (so much going on in our country). And now, MANIFEST, the last book from the Storm and Spire series is now released.
Since this is the last book, I don't want to give you any spoilers, let me review this by what I have loved from all of them.
You will not find a "feel good" story. You will not find perfect characters. I loved how real everyone in this story. How they struggle with their faith to the High One and how they should live their lives now that they serve the one true God.
If you enjoy fighting evils, journey to find the truth, redemption, and dragons, this book is for you. 😊
I am not one that is good at writing reviews. I would like to say this series was the best I have read in many years. At 68 years old I could relate to the characters in their struggle to serve the 'High One'. The unanswered questions when serving Him. Am I doing what He wants and how He wants it done? Where are you God when things don't seemed to be working out? Am I good enough to serve Him? I could feel with the story things that have been going on in my life. The ending was solid! However, I wish the series never ended but actually it doesn't. It goes on as we serve the 'High One' ourselves. Thank you Stephanie. Keep on writing. Blessings from, Stephen and the High One
Manifest is the fifth and final book in the Storm and Spire series. Wes, Aerlie, Ceresyria, Kessara, Alder, and the armies engaging in a battle against their enemies to save Kaveryth. This fantasy story has spiritual elements and allusions. You can feel the hopelessness and despair as the battle rages, the oppressive darkness brought on by the enemies, and the depiction and struggle between good and evil. There were times when I wondered about the fate of Wes regarding his illness. There are some sad moments in Manifest. And the ending is wow. Great fantasy read.
Celesyria will always be my favorite character of this series. I am so proud of her in this book.
All in all, I think this is a great ending to Lozinski's first fantasy series. The first part of the book dragged for me, but it was all important stuff to get through. Things pick up at 60 percent, and I enjoyed the ending, butter sweet though it might be. It does fit the story well and feels right for this world.
I recommend this faith-based fantasy series to any teen or adult who enjoyed epic adventures and appreciates on page faith elements.
This entire world is so well and beautifully crafted, with the core of Gods word and spirit woven into every piece of it. I loved the raw truths that are presented in such a well done way. Thank you so much for sharing this lovely and wonderfully inspiring story with all of us, your blend of fantasy and Gods love, compassion , and forgiveness is exactly what I needed to hear. Please never stop inspiring others with your beautiful stories!! :)
Storm & Spire by Stefanie Lozinski I finally finished her 5 book series. This is my first fantasy book series. It caught me by surprise because I wasn't sure if I would like reading a fantasy genre. I truly enjoyed reading this series it was a captivating series.
I do have to admit Celesyria was my favorite character.
A beautiful told series of the way of redemption from the evil of the world when we have faith and believe in the High One... Even without a Christ like figure, these books reflect our need of salvation.
I recommend this series. Thank you Stefanie Lozinski
A delicious tale of dragons, fairies & a lost world
Lozinski brings us a cast of characters made for leading a world broken by lies back to its knees in Truth. On its surface, a millennia of emptying their coffers in worship of the Dracodei should be enough to bring their world to its knees, but it is the Truth that turns out to be the tinder dragon fire really needs!
The Storm and Spire series caught me by surprise. It was an intriguing surprise. While fantasy is not my usual genre, I was drawn in from the beginning of book one and held captive until the last word of book five. A beautifully told story of the way of redemption from the evils of the world when we have faith and believe in the High One...
