Author of over seventy books so far. Living on the beautiful west coast of Scotland with my husband, twin daughters and a cat called Mavis, although I am originally from Lancashire in the north of England.
My tastes in all things are eclectic, which extends to my writing. Although I primarily write crime books - especially gangland thrillers - I also write gothic historical romance and fantasy. I publish on Amazon Kindle and some of my novels are available in paperback too. I also have a traditional publishing contract with Boldwood Books.
When I'm not writing - which isn't very often - I enjoy reading Daphne Du Maurier, Edgar Allan Poe, Shirley Jackson, MR James and the Brontes, among many others. I also enjoy swimming, walking and spending time with my family.
I thought all that happened in the first of these books was too much for me, this one is likewise. I was fine with it until the courtroom scenario, then it got too unbelievable. I loved the main characters in the book, I enjoyed reading about all that happened to them. I enjoy reading this type of book normally. In saying all that, I am about to buy the prequel, I am looking forward to reading about Joseph Thomas Lee and seeing the family that Anna grew up in. It should be very interesting indeed.
In the beginning it dragged on a bit but then I got into it and found i couldn't put it down. Doo happy that Laura's life is actually her own now and she doesn't have to keep watching her back, she'd really been through enough. More than most can handle to be exact.
This would have need 4 stars but there were a lot of editorial errors throughout this one which spoiled my enjoyment of it slightly. Otherwise I was thoroughly gripped by this and really enjoyed it.
