Both have a past they are trying to forget but Kassia Preston and Jason Theroux have an undeniable bond they cannot deny.
Kassia is a popular writer who experienced a traumatic event in her teens that still haunt her to this day. Jason has his own past that has him wanting to protect Kassia. It's not easy as Kassia is having a hard time with the age difference between her and Jason, Jason doesn't see it as an issue but trying to convince Kassia is not an easy road.
This was unexpected, I wasn't sure which path the story would take but it came with a few surprises. I liked Jason a lot, there is a haunting kind of alpha quality to him. Looking forward to more from this author.

One of my favourite things about My Guardian Angel would have to be the opening chapter. It was so strong and descriptive! The perfect way to start off a book, once I read that I was hooked! I read this in one sitting just waiting to see how this story would play out.
It's obvious that Kassia and Jason are attracted to each other but they both try to resist it. Deciding to become friends we quickly see that line start to blur. Both Kassia and Jason experience something in their past that continues to haunt them and when they meet each other at Darios gym and start to hangout things really start to unravel! I love how suspenseful this really was, I was worried this would end up being an erotica novel that lacked plot and character depth but that was not the case! My Guardian Angel kept my attention right up to the end!
Another one of my favourite parts was the Epilogue at the end from Jason's perspective. I really wish we had more chapters from his POV! There were so many times that I kept trying to figure out what was running through Jason's mind.
What kept My Guardian Angel from getting 5 stars?
- At times I felt there was a bit a character flip flop with Kassia and Jason, it bothered me and made me have whip lash while I was trying to figure out their character. There just didn't really seem to be consistency in terms of their behaviour and how they're perceived.
- I quickly became tired of all the "Junior", "Granny" and "your old" comments through out My Guardian Angel. I get it, there's an age difference but I feel like it was mentioned and joked about more times then it was necessary.
! - There were way too many escalation marks throughout this book. Did Darios, Jason, and Kassia really yell that much?
Overall, My Guardian Angel was an suspenseful read! I really enjoyed this one and recommend it to readers that want a good amount of suspense mixed with romance. This is defiantly one I will be re-read sometime soon.

"The wind was howling, as the heavy rain hammered at the windows, making them rattle. I was lying on my bed with my blankets barley covering my eyes. As I looked out the window, a bright flash of light came across the dark sky. The lightening lit my room only for a few seconds and then vanished just as quickly. A loud thunderous clap followed making me jump."Can I just saw that I LOVE the cover for My Guardian Angel? I love how dark and mysterious it is, and honestly it was what drew me into reading the synopsis for this book.

Kassia. Jason. Each carries baggage the other knows nothing about. I had to keep turning the pages on this book to find out how it would end. Spoiler free zone, except to tell you I wasn't disappointed.
There were plenty of twists to keep me interested in this book. I liked that Kassia was an author. And Evangelene wrote plenty of sexy hotness about Jason. Who doesn't love a hot SWAT officer?!?
The ending of this book kept me on the edge of my seat. I always root for the good guy. Evangelene kept me guessing until the end of good would triumph over evil.
This is the second book I have read by Evangelene. It won't be my last.

This is the story of Kassia Preston. She is a best selling author who went through a very traumatic experience when she was younger. This makes her live like a slight recluse.
Then one day at her Brother’s gym, she meets Jason, a SWAT Officer. There is an instant attraction, but he is much younger than her, so Kassia is reluctant to act on it.
This was a great story. Full of excitement & very hot sex. Kassia & Jason are both broken souls & I cried for both of them at times.
Most enjoyable.

3.5 SUSPENSEFUL STARS!
This book was good. It had some interesting plot twists I totally did not see coming. It had twists and turns every chapter that left you wanting to know more and solve the mysteries this book presented.
In this book, we meet Jason and Kassia. Kassia is a once upon a time ago self published author turned in big name author with a hot paranormal series she is writing and a movie/tv series being made from her books. Fame has not come easy to Kassia. She suffered a horrible tragedy many years ago that she has blocked out only having bits and pieces of the memories. She is haunted by this event in her dreams and only wants to find peace. She also has a bit of an issue- a stalker who seems to be getting more and more persistent. One day she meets a sexy man at the gym...
Jason is a young twenty five year old SWAT team member. He is closed off, only using women for their bodies. He holds dark secrets and an enormous amount of grief over a tragedy from his childhood. When Jason comes in contact with Kassia, he knows he should stay away and never look back but he can't.
As Kassia and Jason run into each other more, they establish a friendship. As the tension between the two becomes too much to deal with, the lines of their friendship are blurred and a romance begins. But both are keeping secrets that could likely destroy their relationship. When their pasts become intertwined and revelations are revealed, it will take all they have to stay together and fight for their love.
I liked this book. It had some amazing things. I liked Kassia's character and her friends Tara and Genna. They were always down for a good time and totally pushed her when she needed it. I also like Tiff. She is her literary agent and a close friend. I was not crazy for Darios her older brother. He seemed like an ass a lot of the time and loved to yell at Kassia about everything. I also loved the plot and the twist at the end because I can tell you I totally did not see either of the revelations coming!
There were also some things that stuck out to me that I did not care for much. There was a lot of use of exclamation points in the book. I mean did Jason yell all the time? He also growled, roared, and screamed when he was talking an awful lot. Other than that, the plot was amazing.
Read this book! You won't be disappointed! :)
Oh and btw... I LOVE THE COVER! And the epilogue- getting Jason's recap of the book and to the present was perfect and honestly, I wish this book was a dual POV!

This book has it all, suspense, drama, gorgeous ALPHA Males, love, loss, crazy stalkers and so much more. Once I began reading this book I couldn’t put it down.
Kassia had a tragic event happen in her life when she was a teenager; the only problem is she doesn’t remember all of the events of the night. This causes her stress and nightmares in her adult life. She is an author and uses his writing as a way to escape. She is living a simple life consisting of her very protective older brother Darios, her two close friends and her agent/friend. One day when working out with her brother at one of his gyms, Kass has an encounter with a much younger, tattooed, very HOT specimen of a man that she just can’t get out of her mind. It doesn’t help that he keeps popping up in her everyday life.
Jason is a HOT, tattooed, Alpha male, Swat member. He appears to be interested in Kassia after their first interaction, but then throws the friend card at her. Kassia is hurt by this but decides to go with it. The problem is the evident chemistry and pull these two individuals have to one another. It is undeniable and appears to be meant to be, they are each other’s safe place, and just don’t know it yet.
There are so many parts of this book I would love to talk about, but then I would give too much away. So let’s just say this is a rollercoaster that you don’t want to get off. There are so many dimensions in this book, it just pulls you in and won’t let you go. I have to say there were moments that I was mad at both Kassia and Jason for their stubborn tendencies and Darios for his overbearing big brother act, but if any one piece was missing it just wouldn’t have been the same.
I enjoyed reading this book. It was different then other books that I have read, it wasn’t just a romance; it was a mystery, suspense, and a story of two broken souls trying to find the pieces to make their souls whole. I loved that Kassia was an author; she was very relatable and true to life. Some parts of the book were intense and had me on the edge of my seat. I liked the Epilogue with Jason, it added just a little bit more to the book giving us even more insight into the man that is Jason. I can’t wait to read more books from Evangelene.

wow I Just finish reading this book, and O.M.G I love it, love the characters, I have to say I hope their is a second part of this book, I couldn't put the book down once I started reading it, I just wanted more, I am gone keep this short since I don't want to give anything away.
The story begging with Kassia, she is a best selling author, after she when throw something when she was just sixteen, she had kept herself seclude, now she just had woken up from a nightmare, when her brother Dario show up, after they talk he told her that he will be picking her up for a work out section at his gym, true to his word he pick her up the next day, after a work out on the gym, Dario was being told that he had a phone call, that's when he left Kassia alone, that's when she saw him for the first time, all she though that he was Hot, Sexy, with the Bad Boy image, when he caught her looking she turn around to leave, walking up to catch the elevator she was not looking, that's when she bump Into the sexy boxer, he introduce himself as Jason, now Jason is a SWAT officer, and he has his own demons to deal with, after that day Kassia bump into him at a club, that's when they knew that their life was about to change, will they cave in at how they feel, or will they let their pass demons get in the way.
I really love and enjoy reading this book, I love Kassia attitude, love Jason attitude, love it how protective he gets over Kassia, I just love this book, Author Evangelene THANK YOU for introducing me to this awesome characters and this great amazing book love it.

I don't know if it is just me, but maybe reading fifty shades of grey was enough to last me a lifetime and another romance/erotica book just couldn't do it for me, I was queasy and squirmish at some parts, it is like I wanted it to end all at once. I'm not saying it is bad, but I feel like everything happened in an instant, instant affection, and instant, yes you guessed it right, instant sex. Well maybe I am not too much accustomed with erotica novels, well it is still an unchartered territory after all. It was too good to be true, and I was catching myself saying "oh boy" or grimacing at some parts, that I have to set aside the book for a while because I just couldn't continue anymore. The way the characters were described was as if they all looked perfect, that they are altogether lovable and no one in the goddamn world could ever resist them, there was Darios the hottest brother, Genna and Tara the most beautiful best friends, and Jason who is like a god and of course Kassia whom everyone wants a piece of. I mean, seriously, can we at least make someone as real as a true person? I know, i know, a book is an escape and no one forced this on me, but I guess I was just a little disappointed, that is all. But I have to admit I really loved the last chapter - Jason's point of view. It has a potential, I mean story wise, it was something, the problem maybe was it wasn't well executed.
Oh well, im just going to charge this to experience. I guess it wasn't really my cup of tea.

I was gifted this book in exchange for a honest review. Kassia Preston is a best selling author that lives alone and pretty much keeps to herself. We start out this book with Kassia bumping into Jason an ultimately he ends up protecting her when she finds herself caught up with a bunch of autograph hungry fans. She is immediately infatuated with Jason but doesn’t really know why, besides the fact that he is a hot SWAT team member. Later there is a thunder storm and Kassia is home alone and struggling to deal with her fears of the rain. When there is a know at her door and its Jason, drenched from head to toe, he is just standing there hoping to be let it. Kassia and Jason find themselves building a friendship as Kassia struggles with her feelings and her fear of admitting the truth to Jason, because she is dealing the fact that she is 7 years older than Jason. Jason is struggling to keep his desires for Kassia at bay. But for much different reasons and Kassia has no ideas. Finally these two admit to each other how they really feel and embark on a love affair. Next there is a mystery and I won’t spoil that by telling you, but a mystery and I LOVED reading about. All the while they are growing closer. What happens the last 3rd of the book is full of action and a puzzle that I didn’t figure out. A rollercoaster ride of love, lose, love again and emotional upheavals that bring these 2 even closer. I am giving this book a 4 out of 5 stars.

Secretly bound to someone from a past incident. The heart truly knows it's mate. For Kassia she doesn't remember all of the missing pieces. Kassia is a very well known and loved author, but at 33 years old, she is also slightly withdrawn and reclusive. Then she meets Jason, the very sexy SWAT officer. She fights the attraction she feels for him because he is younger than her (26 yrs. old), but she is fighting a losing battle. They both hold secrets and share nightmares.
This story was a pleasant surprise. It's filled with angst, romance, intrigue, and mysterious threats from an unknown stalker. And the steamy scenes are enough to make you beg for more. Very tastefully written as well. Jason's character shows a vulnerability that you want to nurture. BUT when he is gruff and giving orders, you want to be soft and completely under his control!!!
In turn, Kassia and Jason will save each other and forge their unbreakable bond.
The love they have for one another is beautiful and the age difference proves to be a trivial.

Great characters and great story! I found myself glued to my tablet until I finished, eager to find out how everything works out.
Jason and Kassia are instantly attracted to each other but they both fight it for different reasons. Jason is fiercely protective and definitely has that Alpha males thing going on. He’s carrying around his own baggage that have caused him to behave the way he does. I really liked both of these characters and easily found myself enjoying both of them and rooting for their relationship to work out.
The story line drew me in from the very beginning. Despite all the seriousness, it was great story and I really enjoyed reading it. The characters were well written and enjoyable to read about. I easily found myself draw into their world. The story flowed easily and I had no problem reading this in one evening. Great job and 4 out of 5 stars!

Wow this is a fantastic read. I signed up to review this for a blog tour and I'm so happy I did.
Kassia is an author. After something bad happened when she was young her brother has been very protective with her. Ok let me stop there. I really can't let slip any more of what's happened in the story. I want you to experience the 'oh my god' moments that I had while reading this. Storyline is brilliant. The characters are great. Love Jason... Oh have I not mentioned Jason yet. Well he's the hot alpha Swat officer that plays a big part in this story.
This is a brilliant romantic mystery story that had me totally gripped. I'm so so happy I came across this author. I highly recommend this story.

First off I was a little surprised with this book. I hadn't expect the suspense. I loved the characters. Kassia is an author. I always love when authors write about authors. Its so fun. Jason is SWAT. Need I say more on that subject. Don't you just know he will be all kinds of Hot and Sexy...
The story line was great and Evangelene had me on the edge of my seat as I read this great book! I couldn't put it down. I love the title and cover as well. Intriguing at first but then so fitting for this wonderful read. I don't want to give any spoilers away, so go read this yourself! I highly recommend!

This is an interesting story, but I'm not exactly sure how I feel about it. I could certainly understand Kassia's initial attraction to Jason, but I found it hard to determine if his feelings towards her were genuine, or if in his mind there was still a bit of subconscience hero worship. And did he get counseling to help him cope with what happened?
I liked the plot twist of a stalker, but I would have liked for there to be more to the story line than what we got; for all of the fear that was caused, that part of the story was over and done with in just one chapter.
This is an interesting story, but I'm not exactly sure how I feel about it. I could certainly understand Kassia's initial attraction to Jason, but I found it hard to determine if his feelings towards her were genuine, or if in his mind there was still a bit of subconscience hero worship. And did he get counseling to help him cope with what happened?
I liked the plot twist of a stalker, but I would have liked for there to be more to the story line than what we got; for all of the fear that was caused, that part of the story was over and done with in just one chapter.

I loved this book!! I fell in love with Kass and Jason. You get sucked into the story, I couldn't put the book down. I read it in one day.

First of all, I love Evangelene's books. 'The Devil Behind Me' series is one of my favourites.
But this one needs a new editing work.
Nice characters, beautiful love story, interesting relationship between a woman and a younger man, but ... You can tell the same in 150 pages, you don't need the rest. The last part, the hero pov, is completely needless, and the same goes for a few scenes after the final reunion.

This was a sweet adoring book with a suspenseful twist in it. The story is told by one of the characters Kassia. She had a traumatic experience in her past that she has closed her mind to. One that she is starting to dream of again. Meantime she is trying to meet deadlines for her editor on her book. An editor she doesn’t like. She is also trying to maintain her close relationship with her brother Darios. Darios is a overprotective brother but loves her to bits. He let her down in his mind when they were younger and doesn’t want to have that happen again. He is a womanizer at the beginning of the book but by the end madly in love with a friend of Kassia’s. He tries to meddle in Kassia’s personal life to the point where friction occurs between them. She does understand but it isn’t something she condones. He is a likeable character that has you smile at how he is with his sister. One day Kassia is at Darios’s gym when she meets Jason. Jason who sets her heart a flutter and who she feels she must protect. Jason is a SWAT member and also has a sad haunting past. He is sweet and protective but also fearful of hurting Kassia and being what she doesn’t deserve. he promises to protect her and boy golly he does. slowly a relationship unfolds between him and Kassia that has them both reeling. Kassia scared and him overprotective. why overprotective? Kassia has a crazed fan after her. Leaving messages and gifts at her door. This is actually what helped precipitate the relationship between Jason and Kassia. Till than Jason was desperately trying hard not to touch her. Not working well I will say. He is madly in love with her. Unfortunately Kassia one night remembers her past and Jason is part of it. Not in a bad way but she tells him to go. She is confused and than she claims his love is only out of what happened before. That is crushing for him and he walks away. Kassia to me is selfish at times and also a little nervewracking with her waffling. She has self doubts about Jason and that is understandable but she really should talk to him. He isn’t the bad guy. Overall though she has a good heart. when she does realize Jason is who she wants it may be too late because Jason is trying to protect her and felt he failed when he wasn’t there when she needed him the most. It is her friend and Darios’s girlfriend that pushes Jason to fight for Kassia in the end. The suspense of the story was great. Evangeline creates a friction and underlying layer of fear in the air around Kassia. With darios and Jason you see the seriousness of the situation. She keeps you wondering until the end who it is and what the threat is all about. the love story aspect was done at the right pace. These two developed as characters this way. We see a natural progression from friendship to lovers. There is a tie that binds them and has the attraction be intensified that is explained until the end. This helps put all the pieces of them together and explains Jason’s reticence and also some of Kassia’s issues. A nicely written tale of love and suspense that keeps you on your toes of who is behind the danger and how their love will turn out in the end. A sweet story of devotion and love that will have you love Jason and smile at the brother/sister relationship that is played out between kassia and darios. A wonderful read.

This book has a sweet little plot twist and turn that kept me on the edge of my seat. Well Done Evangelene! I love books like these.
The book started off a little shaky for me. I was a little bored but I stuck with it and am glad that I did. Kassia was a feisty gal with a lot of baggage from her youth. She was the witness to a terrible incident and it has left her fearful. Jason is a HOT man with a past and plenty of baggage of his own. When the two meet at Kassia’s brother’s gym they have instant chemistry and a pull to one another that they cannot explain. Kassia is a writer and she really wants to get her own soul mate that she writes about in her books. Kassia has a hard time with Jason being 7 years younger than her and has to work through it. Can Jason be her one and only? Read it to find out.
This book will take you on an emotional ride. I laughed, dropped a few tears, got extremely stressed out and fell in love right along with our characters. This is an angsty read be warned. I wanted to slap both of these characters for being so blind. The sex in the book is scorching hot. I loved the secondary characters in the book. I would love to read Darios’ story.
I loved the mystery and intrigue. I was shocked when the story took a quick shift and the outcome of that shift. READ it to FIND out! I loved how it all turned out. I would love to read more about this couple and the secondary characters.
I would recommend this book for a short, sexy and suspenseful read. This is my first book by Evangelene and I will be reading “The Devil Behind Me” next.

My Guardian Angel is the second novel of Evangelene’s I have read, and having very much enjoyed the first book and after reading the synopsis of Kassia and Jason’s story, I was excited and greatly anticipating the enjoyment of another one of her stories. This was a touching tale of two souls who had both suffered from a tragic event in their past, finding each other and learning to open their hearts to the possibility of a life shared together.
My Guardian Angel is told from the prospective of Kassia Preston, a best-selling novelist who after suffering a horrific incident seventeen years ago now basically lives a sheltered and protected life. Her brother has taken on the role as protector and watches over Kassia as he feels a sense of guilt for leaving her alone that terrible night. Although Kassia is unable to remember the details of what happened, it has left a long-lasting affect leaving her cautious. But when she meets Jason, a SWAT officer, while working out at her brother’s gym, she senses that they both feel an inexplicable connection to one another. Despite the fact that Jason is younger than she is, Kassia begins to feel a safeness with him which she hasn’t felt with anyone in years. Even though Kassia is hesitant to let her guard down, she still continues to feel a pull towards Jason. And although he continues to push her away and Kassia continues to feel an uncertainty about their relationship, at the same time they both begin to let down the protective walls they have build around their hearts to finally allow each other in. But can they both overcome their own insecurities and demons of the past ultimately finding an everlasting love together?
The pièce de résistance for me was the epilogue which recaps the story through the eyes of Jason. This was an absolutely perfect ending to this novel allowing me to experience it from his point of view and, quite frankly, relieving me from some of the frustration I was feeling towards him. My Guardian Angel has definitely earned a solid 4-star rating as the two main characters, Kassia and Jason, were extremely likeable making me feel for them because of the tragic night they each suffered and finding a contentment at the solace they ultimately find in each other’s arms and hearts.

I wanted what I wrote about. I dreamt what I wrote about. I wished for it every day, even though I knew it wasn’t real; I still clung to the idea that a soul changing love existed for me.”
Kassia has made a nice name for herself in the world of romantic fiction. She has a knack for pulling her readers in with the absolutely unrealistic lust of supernatural men…if only real life were so easy. In the real world, Kassia is a recluse. Her past, which is spotted, keeps a fear in her mind…one deeply rooted in thunderstorms.
Having an overprotective brother has its perks though. Owner of a Gym chain all over the US, he gets her out as much as he can. Until one day she meets Jason. He’s young, he gorgeous, and there seems to be some sort of cosmic pull to him…now to just figure out why? Problem is, Kassia feels he too young and tries to steer clear.
It’s not until she realizes, he too, has a fear of thunderstorms…and that bond is just the beginning of a deeply rooted past they share.

This was one of those books where you aren’t quite sure where it’s headed…and then everything clicks into place and your mind is blown. I loved reading about a writer, an older woman with a younger guy…now granted, the age difference isn’t much but it lends itself a different type of scenario. It was refreshing. The romance factor was fabulous but it was the mystery in the story that kept me reading. I love when I can be surprised, which makes reading a novel like this enjoyable.

Kassia experienced something traumatic when she was 16 years old. She home alone when she heard a noise at her neighbor’s house. She went to see if her neighbors were okay. Then something happened to her and years later at 33 years old she does not remember exactly what it was but it haunts her.
Kassia’s brother, Darios, owns a health club. One day he takes her to his club where Kassia meets 26 year old Jason. At first she avoids any contact with him. She feels she is too old for him, but the attraction is there. They first agree to be friends, but after spending time together, it gets harder and harder to just stay friends. There is some suspense in the story since Kassia is a well-known author who is getting packages from a stalker.
There is a little twist which brought the story together. I just think some of the inner dialogue could have been deleted. It felt awkward at times. I am not sure the nicknames “junior” and “grammy” should have been used. The story was supposed to be a romance. The age was a factor for the heroine and yet she was calling Jason “junior.” I know it was supposed to be in fun, but it felt strange to me.
Not sure I was that happy with whom Darios chose. At times, I wanted to know more about Darios. I would have liked him to have his story written but not with the person that he ended up with.
Overall it was an interesting read. I wanted to know what would happen and how everything would come together.

This is Kassia and Jason's book.
I gave this book 5 stars.
Kassia is an author and she likes to keep to herself. She has a lot of stuff that went on in her life and she doesn't want a repeat. Jason is a swat officer and has his own secrets. These two meet at the gym. Both have secrets, but both are worth all they are going to have to go through to be together. This book is full of twists and turns. It will keep you on the edge of your seat wanting more with each turn of the page. This author did not disappoint with this story. This is the first novel that I have read from Evangelene and I look forward to reading more from her in the future.

Wow what a romance this has been. The author has done a really amazing job with the writing of this story I started it and just had to finish this cover to cover!! It was pretty much once u start you can't stop lol. Yes it was this amazing. The overall story line is a catcher and one that makes it worth the time spent reading it. I really think this is a love story that everyone should read and enjoy. the love story was one that I'm happy to take a part of. The characters are great the details are wonderful, the story line even more amazing and shocking to be honest but it's so worth the read.

Kass had a traumatic experience years ago which she doesn't remember much about. Her therapist suggested that writing would help. She is now a very popular author, but stays to herself mostly. She meets Jason at her brother's gym and is attracted to him. He doesn't return her affections or so he said. That all changes one night and they begin dating. Then something comes to light that gives them more of a history together than she knew. Add on to the fact that she has a stalker and you have a romantic thriller that you just can't put down until the very end.

As a teenager she suffered a trauma which her mind has shut out.......so now as a 33 year old she is an author. An author who has just met a guy in her brothers gum who consumes her thoughts. Then when she needs to do research for her latest book she meets him again......he's a member of the local SWAT team. They get together and everything is great......until the stalker.

It was ok
There are not many books that I think the book should end unhappy. This book was one of them. It would have been a much better book with both Perspectives written all throw the book. Not my favourite but not the worst book I have read.
