I had already read the Noble series and had finished the first book of the Bear and Noble walked in I found myself wanting more of Clarissa Abbot. I had some trepidation of moving over to a female main character.Would she be able to stand the strain of the tale to be told? While she is more thought centered thanNoble,, with lots of emotions and fraught with second guessing herself, It was a very enjoyable story with ups and downs of plot changes. I do recommend reading this one and looking forward to Clarissa ‘s next mission
Undercover is not for me! It makes the Mafia seem like grammar school. I am sure people live that way, but it takes a special person. People like this under the thumb of a strong political group could control elections, this country and other countries. It could be happening now. This is a book that matches the times we live in. I recommend this book of political mystery.
Having someone attempt to assassinate the vice president of the United States should’ve brought down the entire weight of the FBI, Secret Service, military, homeland, security, and anybody else you could think of in law-enforcement.
All of that is completely ignored in this book.
And the premise that the VP would have someone take a shot at him to enhance his ability to move up in the ticket for president is beyond belief.
And from there we jump from one non connected event to another.
I thought this book was a real mess, it did not really have a storyline and it jumped around all over the place, I was glad to finish it and several times I thought I would not bother, we already knew about Clarissa and I do not think that this book did her any favours, it was just so boring, I am sorry to say that I did not enjoy it at all. The Settings could have been a really good read, but there was nothing but do I trust him, or not, and there was no structure to the book, I am sorry Lee but it just did nothing for me, I am looking forward to your new book.
I think there are possibilities for Clarissa in future editions but this book was mired in her doubts about who she could trust and why she was even involved for much too long. She never really showed any skills as an operator/agent and Ryan never really developed her character in a satisfactory manner. Same with Beck....he has a ton of upside if he was developed properly. I came close to putting this story down at page 100 but did finish it all. Just an average run of the mill story that had potential unrealized.
Well, Shoot L.T. Ryan is a go-to author for me. I can always trust him to deliver a top-notch read with superior characters and a blindingly fast-paced storyline. While this particular audiobook was not my favorite of his numerous reads, it is enjoyable. It's hard to know who to trust in this story of political intrigue and high-stakes assassination. The main characters, Clarissa and Beck, are complex and intriguing (although not always likable). Truly, the thing I'm most disappointed about is the fact that he never continued this series.
Ryan almost has you feeling sorry for the lone operator, Clarissa. Working alone. But, she really isn't. She just has a little bit of trust issues. She thought she could trust her boss. But, can she? She takes a job she knows nothing about and is very paranoid. And, with good reason. Can she get herself out of this mess? Or will she have to risk it all? A very well written thriller. Action, twists you don't see coming. L.T. Ryan is an amazing author.
Clarissa Abbott doesn’t know who to trust. Her life is in jeopardy, she has a job to do...one that she didn’t want in the first place. Thrown together with Agent Beck, she must determine if she can, or should trust him or Sinclair her boss. Who is responsible for all the deaths? This book holds so many twists and turns I found myself not wanting to put it down until the mystery was solved.
Clarissa Abbot is a covert operative. Her boss, her handler she trusts. Almost like a father figure. She is about to be betrayed in an almost unimaginable way. She is being set up to take the fall for crimes she didn't and would never commit. Extremely fast paced thriller with unbelievable twists and turns. Enjoyed immensely!
L. T. Ryan is an addictive author! So much so in fact that it’s difficult to put any book your reading of his down until you realize you’re at the end of a series and you just topped your reading challenge by 161%! Write on good sir, I need more Jack Noble and Clarissa Abbott!!
Read the entire convoluted story just to find out the character responsible for it all was the first character suspected. Would have made a much better short story. I still believe I will enjoy L T Ryan as an author and I will continue to read his other story lines
NSA Agent Clarissa Abbot is called back from London. There's a potential threat to National Security which which may impact the White House. There's a conspiracy which will endanger her life. An awesome, well-written thriller which will captivate you right from the beginning. Highly recommend.
Very good book it kept me going didn’t want it to end. I have read a few of his books and they all keep me coming back to finish it. I will make sure my friends read it also. I just got my kindle awhile ago and have been reading a whole lot more.
My Grandaughter will enjoy his books. I will recommend this author’s books to her and any one else that likes to read good books
Quite a few twists & surprises. The unexpected is becoming increasingly expected. There were some areas that I couldn't stop reading. This is my first venture with Clarissa Abbot. I enjoyed it enough to read the other books she is featured in. I read for the entertainment of it. Or until I get sleepy. Not to judge & rate authors. Glad this author & these books are on Kindle.
Fun story to read. Clarissa finds herself in a new position seemingly always in a crowd but unsure of who to trust. She has been working for Sinclair a long time and comes to question who is on her side when she finds herself close to a shooting. One way or another she better figure it out.
L. T. Ryan’s book are great reads. When you think he can’t come up with another suspenseful novel, he does. I like his books because he keeps me involved looking for the next piece of the puzzle he has created. His characters come to life and I am grateful to get to know them. another success!
Clarissa is set up as a patsy by her boss, Sinclair. She meets with a high ranking official, Beck and he has her back from there. Both are in the crosshairs, in a move to stop them from finding out the person responsible for the manipulation and murders. Love this spin off from the Jack Noble series. Great author, great storyteller.
Nothing beats a good Clarissa Abbott assignment! This one sure was exciting from the get-go. I was always wary of her decision to work for that slug Sinclair. He was bad for Jack and Bear. I had never trusted him. I was always afraid for Clarissa. Well, turns out...he was worse than the worst. Great book. Great character, Beck. Fun adventure!
Loved this one as other ones before it!! Wonderful to have new series from original series along with Jack Noble but just as well written and well defined on its own merits! Thank you ..Lee Ryan
Clarissa, a true woman! She can do it all ( though she hasn't had children yet...). I did find a bit too much paranoia in this novel. But, hey, when people are dropping like flies I guess I'd be paranoid too!!!
Cassie is assigned to work with the White House because they believe there is a rogue agent working there. Cassie doesn't want to be there and time gives her the evidence to support this feeling.
A brilliant addition. Well written with exciting characters that take you on a non stop journey of mystery and intrigue. I have read all books by L.T. Ryan and am looking forward to more
Clarissa working for Sinclair on her own with no contact with Jack or Bear leaving her to decide who to trust Beck or Sinclair. Fun to follow them through a labyrinth of twists and turns and ever changing plots.
Every twist you could think of in this book and then some hope it's going to keep on going ,I enjoyed this book from cover to cover not knowing how the end was going to pan out excellent writing.
This was one of my most enjoyable of Ryan's book. It was fun to find out what he had in mind for Clarissa and I hope this will be another series for him. READ IT!!! You won't be sorry.
Too many inconsistencies to list here, but the lady lead went from dangerous to scared - fearless to crying - to many conflicting emotions to be believable! His other books have been more enjoyable. But read it for yourself to see!
This ranks as one of my favorite books. It entertained me and held my interest through out the book. It was eventful, entertaining, lots of action suspenseful and an all around good book.
I'm such a big fan of jack and bear that I thought I would Clarissa a shot and turned out she is a badass just like them, very good and not what I expected at the end.
This was my first book of this series and I found it to be a quick paced, easy read with interconnected plots that trade you into trying to figure out what's coming next. Enjoyed it immensely and can't wait to read another.
Great intrigue, with constantly changing situations. Enjoyable situations with credible outcomes. I would recommend any reader to get involved. The plots and situations were realistic.
