Oral Roberts has been one of the giants of the Christian faith for more than seven decades. His ministry has spanned the globe with a message of healing and miracles that has reached more than a billion people. He founded Oral Roberts University in Tulsa, Oklahoma—a fully accredited liberal arts university offering more than eighty undergraduate and graduate degree programs. He has written more than 100 books and created the first oral commentary on the New Testament. Roberts is considered the leading healing evangelist of the twentieth century, a pioneer in Christian television, and without a doubt, one of the nation’s most innovative, and at times, controversial communicators.

This book is an outline of the "Seed Faith" doctrine as composed and practiced by Oral Roberts. It essentially boils down to: "Give God [or me as God's representative:] money and he will give you what you want." By pulling scriptures out of context and twisting theology to suit his own ends, Roberts attempts to make his money-making racket sound like a sound Christian practice. This book is one of the primary reasons I learned to question anyone who claims they have a divine revelation to share. In that way, it is a useful book: it demonstrates that anyone can twist the words of the Bible around to mean whatever they want, and it can be used as an exercise in critical thinking. But generally speaking, it's rubbish.

I first read and started applying its teachings about 40 years ago. I've read and studied this and some of his other books. I was an all expenses paid guest at ORU in June '76 along with about 3000 others. Oral Roberts lived and practiced what he preached and taught. I joined The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints a few days later. I hold a B.S. in Chemistry from Duke University. I know of where I speak. If you knock it you have not tried it. A reading alone will do you no good.
