A very brief story of Belinda, a young widow and mother who has never felt cherished. Her mother-in-law felt her son married beneath him and treats her like dirt. Belinda owns an architectural salvage store in a run down Victorian house.

Rick, a builder who recently moved to the area, stopped in to view this Victorian and her store…and the rest is history.

I enjoy when the male main character is the one who has the close relationship with the Lord. For me that would be a must for romance. And if he's a natural with a child, all the better. Rick was that man. (And so was my husband.)

Pretty short. Not very well developed characters. I love all of Colleen’s books but this one fell a little flat to me. If you want a 30 minute read, this is an ok choice.

I know this is a novella but Rick and Belinda's relationship seemed to move too fast. The first day that Rick meets Belinda and her daughter he tucks the little girl into bed at night. Then the next time he comes to the store he's asking "where's my girl?" Too fast for me. As a single mom you would think she would keep her daughter at a distance from a new man in her life.

I thought the mother-in-law is very mean spirited and an unbelievable character with her mean comments to Belinda and demands to sell the store and take her grand daughter away. Other than that I thought it was ok.

Coleen Coble is one of my fave authors and I have read many of her books. This one was a disappointment. But it won't keep me from reading her other books.

This is a good novella by Colleen Coble. Belinda is a single Mom who is intimidated by her mother-in-law after the death of her son in an auto accident. Obviously a woman without God and makes no bones to let Belinda know she does not want her granddaughter brought up in the church. She threatens with selling her home and business out from under her because she holds the mortgage.

Then Belinda meets a customer who buys from her shop and they immediately hit it of. But again Belinda is threatened by mother-in-law because she has made it clear Belinda is to never remarry or else........ and so the story goes.

For those who love and believe in God and put their trust in Him, He makes the big picture clearer. Good read

How did I miss the little gem? Kindle Unlimited suggested it as a book I might like and it was right!
With a name like Rick Storm for the hero I thought it might be a little over the top. It was not. It is a sweet story of a widow and her 3 year old daughter struggling to get by. Poor Belinda does not think she is pretty enough or good enough for anyone to love (her obnoxious mother in law is the biggest reason). In comes Rick Storm, handsome, charming and immediately smitten by her and her daughter Andi. Of course the story is a bit predictable, and has a Happily Ever After ending but I found it completely enjoyable!

Love Colleen Coble books. Belinda was no exception. This is a touching story of a young lady who is terrorized by her mother-in-law who thinks her son should have never married Belinda. Though Andrew has been dead several years Alice still has her hooks in Belinda. ONly when Rick shows up on the scene is she able to break away and get on with her life.

Ms. Coble does a wonderful job of describing characters and places and makes you feel like you are part of the story.
