Award-winning author, Stephen Hawley Martin, spent three years interviewing more than one hundred experts, ranging from noted quantum physicist, Henry Stapp, Ph.D., to the Director of the Windbridge Institute, Julie Beischel, Ph.D., to the Director of the Division of Perceptual Studies [DOPS] at the University of Virginia School of Medicine, Jim B. Tucker, M.D. The topics covered included research into near death experiences [NDEs], research into veracity of reports by psychic mediums, research concerning ESP and documented paranormal activity as well as children’s memories of past lives and the “Participating Observer” phenomenon prevalent in quantum physics research. Martin, following an NDE in his twenties has been a student of metaphysics for many years. He has organized the findings into what he believes to be an airtight case showing that human consciousness continues after death of the body. It is a case he believes an open-minded individual will find impossible to refute. If you think it’s possible death might be the end, this book is absolutely a must-read.
Great book that provides plenty of evidence that the old scientific materialistic paradigm is now "crap science" (my words). The dove-tailing of science and the science of spirit are the new order, or will be more fully very soon. The book just about covers it all - it is very comprehensive in reporting on the science that supports the books title. Although I have many, many highlights in my Kindle, the one quote from a study that I found confirming and fascinating is "persons with partisan preferences believe what they want to believe regardless of the facts. Not only that, they unconsciously congratulate themselves - the reward centers of their brains light up - when they reject new information that does not square with their predetermined views.". That finally explains for me how so many people can still be voting for "the ugly man".
I thought this would be more about NDE research but really it's just about psychics, including a full blown advertisement for Windbridge psychic readings. Also, A lot of Martin's research seems to boil down to "I went to dinner with this guy and he told me that he saw a ghost and then he said he found a skeleton in his house which proves his story!".
