Priscilla Smucker's mother has talked her into spending the winter months making a quilt. After picking out the pattern and the fabric, Priscilla is ready for sharing fellowship with the other Amish women in her community. Unfortunately, the attention that she receives warrants more jealousy and bullying from another young woman. For the second time, Priscilla has to determine how to deal with the fallout from bullying by Susie Byler. Will it drive a wedge between Priscilla and the community or, even worse, Stephen Esh?

After reading The Tomato Patch by Sarah Price, I found myself wanting more of this series as The Tomato Patch spoke to me and touched on the subject of bullying which is quite close to my heart. In the Quilting Bee, it seems that Priscilla is still doing her best to ignore Susie Byler and is happy with her courtship with Stephen. That is until one day when Priscilla and her older brother Jonas head to the market to pick apples and Priscilla sees Susie in Stephen's buggy. She is confused as Stephen is very godly and wouldn't hurt her not intentionally. The misunderstanding is cleared up and all is back on track with Priscilla and Stephen as there is talk about Priscilla making herself a wedding quilt and her family hosting a quilting bee this winter. However, what will happen though when Susie's jealously strikes once again and she starts to spread more rumours about Priscilla in the community. Lies that will even have the Bishop reprimanding Priscilla, when she has done nothing wrong. I love this series as it is not only easy to read but the characters are likable and each book has a strong focus on doing what is right and believing God has your back. I am now looking forward to reading the rest of the books in this series.
Do you remember rumors that hurt you? Or you friends?
Were you one of those that spread the rumors?
In The Quilting Bee, Sarah Price writes about bullying in one of the Amish communities of Ephrata, PA. Priscilla Smucker is on the receiving end of the mean comments from a jealous, young lady in her community. Priscilla tries to focus on the good that older ladies of her community have been chattering about at her quilting bee that's been held in her parent's home this winter. Susie has the community's grapevine running full speed with rumors, but will Priscilla be held responsible? Will the higher power have something to say about all of the untruths?
Find out by reading the book and or the whole series and take the lesson to heart.
I must say that I loved the older ladies in this installment. The Smuckers hosting church scene from the greeting to the sermon was priceless and someone gets an eye opener.
TRUST and FAITH are two very key components in this whole series.
I enjoyed this story, just wish it wasn't so repetitive and because I am the grammar police, I get very frustrated when a published book has so many errors. Where is the editor?
The Quilting Bee is the second book written by Sarah Price in her The Amish of Ephrata series. In this story the author continues the journey of Priscilla and Stephen along with more devastating rumors by another Amish youg lady. The author tells this tale by pointing out that jealousy is a sin and telling falsehoods is also a sin. The author brooches this verh senitive topic with alot of knowledge and points out that being a bully is not accepted anywhere.
Again the two main characters, Priscella and Stephen hae to weather another storm brought on by one in their own community. There are many ways they could handle this situation and it may surprise you what they do. I enjoyed this story immensly and it made me stop and think how Iwould handle this problem.
I was not given a complimentary copy of this amazing book to read and review. I was not approached to post a favorable review at anytime. I have rated this book with five stars for meeting my expectations of a wonderful story that i can highly recommend to all those who love the Amish genre.
Congratulations to Sarah Price for writing another fantastic book for her readers to enjoy. I will be anticipating more wonderful books from her in the future.
