This book was a blessing to me .I lost my wife of 57yrs she was my everything . The emptiness and loneliness was so awful. I went to bed thinking about her and awaken thinking about her. At times I felt like my heart would explode .After reading several of Adams books , especially this one ,that hurt and loneliness has been lifted so much . Thank God for His loving arms that he wraps around us we go through trying times . I know she's happy and I'll see her again someday !!
I lost my husband He fell in the driveway and died almost immediately. I would have given this book a higher rating but reading it did not help me feel better It could not stop the pain. It only made me feel the loss more deeply. I think it might be helpful to some one who has been emotionally hurt by a friend or family member. But I doubt it will be helpful to anyone who has endured a deep, personal loss.
This read like a sermon series, which I think would be my preferred format of consumption of the message it contains. There was a good deal of repetition throughout the chapters, which served to emphasize God's plan and the importance of trusting Him in all things. The heart of this book is purely Biblical, with some true life anecdotes thrown in the mix. I needed to be absorbed in this message while I was reading this.
Good read. "If we don't learn the lessons from the trials at hand, we may have to go through a similar trail again until we learn what God is teaching us". When I read this, it opened my eyes to my question to why do I keep going through almost the Same thing?
This book is wonderful because it is based on the Holy Bible. The Word of God is the only Thing that can help us as we strive to reach the end of this earthly life. The author did a very good job of bringing together a lot of scriptures that tell us about the heart of God towards His children.
This book answers a lots of my questions and put my mind at peace of why I'm going through this long term trail. Yes I have been able to share my testimony as a witness tool to bring teenagers to him.
Wow this book convicted me, this is the work of the holy spirit. Wish it was a little bit longer but a very great read thanks so much for spreading God's word. Recommend for everyone😉
This book teaches and reminds us of the value of life to the good and the bad. It’s about perspective, speaking gods word staying in the word and above most praying and trusting God in all things. He will always turn things out for our good
Love this Bible study. Adam Houge never disappoints in his books. I always learn so much. I even saw a couple of my favorite scriptures in a whole new light.
This book hit home for me right now and has taught me a few things that i have lost sight of. Overall it's a great book, but there are some grammar, punctuation, and spelling issues throughout. They aren't to bad to make somebody quit reading though. I've always enjoyed reading books from Mr. Houge.
What an amazing book. Jesus gave His life because He was seeking for something greater. He knew that we would never be saved without His sacrifice. Oh, how valuable we are to God. We cannot comprehend His mind boggling love.
Amazing, heartfelt and personal! I enjoyed this book so much and I'm going to look forward to rereading it.. The amount of guidance this gave me is beyond anything I would have thought from such a quick read. God does all things out of love.....he is not to blame for our hurts....allowing pain ...promotes growth! Rejoice in it for good will come of all things!
