Handbook of the Navigator: Why You and the Universe Were Meant to Meet

Rate this book
The Handbook of the Navigator breaks all the traditional rules regarding the soul, the universe, and ultimately what we consider God to be. Its scale is epic in scope, beginning with why some people feel a spiritual calling, like a secret, inner instinct that leads them to the path of awakening. How the sixth sense can directly plug you into real spiritual experiences, the creation of God, what is the mystical state called Multi-Dimensional Consciousness where you can be aware of multiple dimensions in your waking state and more. It demonstrates how paranormal phenomena, metaphysics, and spiritual discovery are all combined for true awakening. If you have ever felt there was a greater purpose or meaning to your life, if you have felt a calling but could not understand what it was - this is the Navigator. This book helps you understand and connect to the Navigator and reveals why some human beings are destined to ultimately seek it out. It provides the missing link to your own personal revelation and awakening.

I'm not real impressed by this book. Some of what he says make sense, and yet other parts contradict decades of careful research into NDE experiences and the paranormal in general. In particular, his assertion that one need be "awakened" (enlightened) in order to survive death with one's consciousness intact is not supported by current NDE and spiritual research.

Everyone survives death and Pepin is just flatly wrong here, as far as I know.

Worse, this book seems like a long spiel on spirituality and "awakening" that could of been done in a book 1/3rd or less the size of this book.

To top it off, near the end he starts talking about his "special" brand of meditation and why it's superior to other, traditional methods. Of course... he just describes how it's superior, but never explains how to do it!

I guess you have to buy more of his books to learn that.

Pepin comes across to me as a salesman, more than any sort of so-called "spiritual teacher".

Read this one with your skeptic hat on...

poorly written, poorly edited, some okayish core thoughts surrounded by inarticulate murk & mixed metaphors. author is constantly defending what he acknowledges as "cartoonish" imagery, by stating he's just trying to make it simple enough for folks to understand. little to no viable tech. and unexamined ideology that yields no value re: constructing a narrative frame.

in summary: "i'm enlightened! now i'm gonna splain at you!" ad infinitum, ad nauseum. and in the most basic of ways.

i had hoped for at least one gem in the book, so i did read it all the way through. i can't recommend that anyone else do the same.

one would be better off reading some classic new age, like jane roberts or carlos castaneda. both authors certainly have their flaws, but their material is richer, & contains usable tech.

This book was absolutely incredible. The author is a genius, not only does he write so fluidly, he is just plain brilliant. He 'gets it' and I had to stop reading the book a few times to just go 'damn.' This book was so enlightening, and is now one of my favorites. I highly recommend everyone to read it! I will definitely re-read this book in the future because not only was it amazing, it has such deep subject matter that it should be re-read over so that it might finally sink in. A+ book!

A must read, especially for meditators reaching for a deeper understanding

This book is for all of us who have that nagging feeling that we need to be more and that there is much to do that can be done!

A chaotic mixture of ideas and techniques

I was at first intrigued by the book description. I was expecting to get new information, or at least a few peculiar interpretations. The first few chapters were a little encouraging, but then I started to grow suspicion that the author only restates the known ideas. I kept reading and got to a final conclusion, that this book doesn't provide any added value. As an experienced seeker, I didn't learn anything new. At points, the tone of the author got quite annoying. At the bottom line, the author did not provide any structure for further advancement.

I recognize, that for a beginner, especially quite young, this book may bring minor revelations. But at the same time, because of its lack of structure and harmony, it will more probably only confuse and provide false self assurance and bogus righteousness.

I do not recommend this book to anyone. Keep seeking independently.

Started off ok, but by the time i had read 80 pages, my head was up my a--e, some of the stuff he says about how the universe started and what happens if you don't reach enlightenment, only god knows. too much for me, i would not recommend it to anyone, it won't get you there to enlightenment any quicker, it also did not need to be so many pages explaining it all, hence to tell you i never finished the book, all i can say is, you be better going on youtube to learn more about enlightenment, it's free and easier to understand, this was not what i thought it was going to be, you also get a free meditation when you purchase this, not that great either, you get to the end of the meditation and before you can open your eyes they are advertising about higher balance, that was it for me, even in the navigator book they are advertising products before the book ends, good luck and much love and i truly hope what you are looking for

Good info, but Lack is Obvious.

I was so excited to read this work because it was so Highly recommended by a close friend. I did read it, but the first Red Flag was Immediate. The Fear Factor is immediate which of course is always (to me..) the First Clue there is a problem. But it's subtle..you, I..I should say..thought "keep reading...it will make Sense". It didn't, but was disguised easily as the author didnt give the Realization to us (me) that he allowed chapters in between the proposed BS...easy to miss because of such pertanite info that is valuable. Great, interminable content mixed with Fear,...fear that I sense is designed to leave the reader still confused and in fear that they inevitably stay Stuck. Such a Shame.

No real content....

This book may help someone out there, but I'm hard pressed to see how... a lot of mystical blah blah blah, and no real content. Anyone that is awakening will find that simple is better and Eric's long and rambling stories really aren't helpful in a journey of awakening... at least not for me... he talks about enlightenment as if it were something that only a few can attain, when, truthy-wise, everyone is capable... to be frank, I didn't finish the book, but I really tried hard to give it an honest and open minded reading, but the overwhelming irrelevance of it became too much. love all, love always, love lots <3

A lot of fluff. Some interesting perspectives are shared but none of the claims are backed by anything but metaphor. Still, some metaphors are highly relatable hence the two stars. Very very simple intro to some new age concepts with a slight twist from the generic narrative.

Wonder how much of it is true or not, but it's, overall, a good exposure to alternatives for spirituality.

I was initially attracted to the cover art, and the message stating that reading this book will deliver the ultimate spiritual experience. There are only a few other books that have drawn me the way this one did, and I would recommend it to anyone interested in psychic Awakening.
Parts of this book do feel like a spiritual experience. Pepin understands that spiritual realities are best communicated via metaphor. Like Jesus, Pepin does his best to illustrate what Awakening is like using examples the reader would know well. He does seem to know what he’s talking about, and he’s agonizing over the best way to communicate these concepts. He really does want to help people, and he really believes he is equipped to do it. But, while his model is useful, I wish he would spend a little more time explaining that all models are only relatively useful, and that what he has pieced together about ultimate reality is not unquestionable. When he is talking about our soul piloting our mind through this life, or our purpose to serve as antibodies against the Darkside, or our planet possessing intelligence at a level beyond our awareness, I get him, and I think most people reading the book will get what he’s trying to say. When he tries to explain how God came into being I am somewhat skeptical (it is perfectly reasonable to believe God has always existed and requires no origin story).
Nevertheless, I can’t quite decide if the book fulfills its promise of delivering “the ultimate spiritual experience”. I generally am not impressed with any book that starts from the assertion “I (the author) have already reached Enlightenment (or Awakening, or whatever), and now I will teach you how to follow me.” Pepin begins the book by describing his own spiritual awakening, which sounds something like a pleasant summer day on hallucinogens. Online research tells me that Pepin believes he was born with a luminous halo around him, and toward the end of the book he begins to advertise for his Higher Balance Institute. He’s going to teach you a meditation method that will greatly accelerate your Awakening, he says, but you have to buy another book to hear about it. I’ll wait to see if I can pick it up at a lending library like I did this one.

Hmm I dono if I agree with what is written in this book, his Ideas are very different from all the other books I have read so far. But It definitely gives us a very different perspective, opens our mind to new possibilities...So Its nice.

Ok

I thought it was interesting until he attempts to describe God and the universe. I continued just to see what he would say.

A quick and fairly insightful book that looks at the fundamental "purpose" of life.

Discussess some cool concepts that are vital if a person wants to get to the next level in business, relationships and life while at the same time presents that's it's more than about having and doing more.

For someone looking to delve deeper into their own spirituality and who struggles with not being sharp enough or competitive enough by "letting go" this is a great read
