Human birth Humans on Earth are very unusual animals. He is self-conscious, but at the same time he is swept up by his unconscious urges, he is threatened with survival in difficult adversity, but at the same time he enjoys a richer world than any other animal. Science has long worked to answer these old questions, and in recent years, it has been accumulating huge amounts of data thanks to powerful tools, including genetic analysis. The hairless monkeys wandered the African grasslands 3 million years ago, and discover their past, present and future.

Great introduction and summary of recent discoveries by paleoanthropologists on the evolution and migration of early hominins out of Africa and around the globe.
I accidentally erased the review I just wrote. I may redo it if time permits. Basically, the book/audiobook consists of a compilation of articles published in the fall of 2012 by Scientific American. I suggest more current material on the origin of our species since much has been learned in the 10 years that followed.
Really enjoyed this series of essays. Some things I knew, others were new to me, but all of it was very interesting. Would recommend to anyone interested in learning about how we became human.
Excellent collection of essays the history of human evolution. Great food for thought. Some is more speculative and some more factual - but always fascinating stuff.
