I've read this version for years now. It's my favorite translation. As my pastor & friend says- the best translation of the Bible is the one that works best for you. This is the one I love most ❤️

This is not a review of the Bible. After all, what right can I possibly have to review the Bible? No, the way this really works is that I let the Bible review me. How deeply am I hiding it in my heart? How closely am I following its precepts? Unfortunately, there is no way that I could rate myself anywhere close to 5 stars. Yes, I am growing, but I've still got a long ways to go.

This is now my 64th time reading the Bible through cover to cover. Each time I find that there is more to learn. More change that needs to take place in me. God willing, I am getting there. One day, on the other side, I will arrive.

absolute disgusting, contradictory filth. I was blown away and expecting some type of understanding. Cliffs: nothing makes sense, God kills about 2.4 million people, satan kills 10.
Most atrocious religious text I have ever read in every way imaginable.
To be fair I only read the first 7 books, (the first 5 are considered the 'Torah', or text of Judaism)
Religion has plenty upsides, but fundamentalism has no place in modern society.

Such an excellent translation. I thoroughly enjoyed the commentary as well; lots of connections between scriptures, organized chronology, and open to different interpretations of things like eschatology.

Would highly recommend!

This is my favorite version of the Bible. It is so easy to read, but still the full text. One of the things that comes across so clear in this version, is God's sarcasm in the book of Isaiah. Some of the footnotes could have been better.

Given the paraphrased origins of the Living Bible, this New Living Translation is a wonderful Bible to read in contemporary English.

There is no greater, more profound, engaging, insightful, imaginative, creative, exciting, adventurous, revealing, loving, truthful book ever written. Hands down my favorite read of all time.

Hard to understand

It is hard to move around the book. It uses numbers not words. It would be better to look f or a book b y name not number. I'm not satisfied with this purchase.
