Okay, so someone died but it's not a license for Shusei to raise Aoi's hopes up. Come on, the girl is a martyr. Running miserably, chasing Shusei, with salty tears and the rain washing you down. And that guy managed the perfect words to reject that girl's desperate confession. And mind you, before that friggin confession AND REJECTION there was sexual exploitation that took place. Shusei was forcing himself on Aoi. WHAT THE FUCK? I don't feel very good. Just what the heck is wrong with him? Wataru is right: He's chicken. Nah, he's an asshole chicken!
I just woke up, because this series kept me awake all night... and yet, it's going way worse. I hate pining from now on. Come on, give me back my sleep 😭
Nope can’t do it! Rage inducing! Shusei is such a jerk and has been for the last three volumes he’s extremely unlikeable….I’d much rather she end up with her neighbor guy Wataru but I know that isn’t going to happen. He’s so much better for her mentally but she is just taking the abuse for some reason? Very frustrating to read….yall tell me if it gets better but for now onto something else. 😡
This one made me a little sad. Shuusei killed both me and Aoi emotionally in this one. Things seemed to just be about to reach a high point and then he dashed it all. I would like to know what happened in his past to make him so against any romantic involvement with anyone and will be moving onto Volume 7 in a minute too hopefully find out.
3,5/5 This volume was even more emotional than the previous one. Aoi is determined to make things go back to normal. She wants to prepare a delicious dinner so sushei will submit to her. At the supermarket he meets wateru and tells him about her plan. The landlady organized a cooking class so wateru invites Aoi to tag along and he will show her an amazing recipe so she can get sushei back. During that class the landlady leaves them alone. She was determined to win Aoi but in the end she couldn’t. Wateru wonders why is Aoi so into Sushei and Koteu asks sushei why is she always with this new guy. That night she is waiting for him and she has everything ready but he doesn’t arrive until really late. She’s been waiting for him but he had work and he doesn’t want to try dinner. Aoi wonders why he doesn’t want to be with her. He is colder and more distant than before. He ignores her and she apologized for what happened. She wants things to go back to normal. He tells her she’s intrigued by men so he can be her practice partner and kind of assaults her until she tells him to stop. After that he leaves and says he can’t make her happy so she should let him go. Aoi is scared of him not coming back and runs after him and confess that she loves him and she’s being in love with him for a while. Sushei says he’s uncapable of that feeling and leaves her alone. Later on once she’s back she meets wateru. She explains that sushei didn’t eat the dinner and his recipe and she’s sorry. Wateru realizes somethings wrong and confess his feelings for her. He loves her and wants to make her happy. Love should be a joyful thing and Aoi is always suffering for sushei. Wateru wants to be there for her and cherish her and he wonders if she loves him or if she hates him. In the end she says that she doesn’t hate him but she’s in love with sushei. After leaving the apartment she tries really hard to forget him but she can’t. Sushei is not going to school and he’s spending time with his sister at her apartment. He has a new boyfriend who happens to be a doctor but he sees sushei and he acts as an asshole and the doctor leaves saying the sister was such a pretty face and that’s all. Sushei thinks she needs to find a new boyfriend and they talk about someone who passed away. Sushei visits her grave during summer and the equinox and his sister says she loves her as well but we don’t know who that person is. Sushei admits he wrecked everything with Aoi. He tried to play it cool but he couldn’t protect her and be there for her. Later on Aoi is determined to prove her love to sushei. She goes to her sister’s house but he is not there and she doesn’t know when he’ll be back. Aoi realizes she’s bothering the sister and leaves but then sees sushei with his ex girlfriend. Aoi tells him she needs to talk but he leaves with his ex without saying a word. She’s heartbroken and Moe and more people at school noticed it. Wateru’s class is organizing a host club and he has to play along but he goes to talk with Aoi. He says she’s cute all the time but she’s even more cute when she smiles. Aoi opens up to him about his feelings for Sushei. She thought it will be okay if she got to spend time with him but deep down she was always hoping he would feel the same way one day and he didn’t. She is really sad and she can’t keep going like this and she’s devastated. Sushei is working with wateru’s class, trying to attract clients and he goes to speak with him. Wateru told Aoi about his feelings and sushei seems unbothered but he threatened Wateru in the past and now he wants to know if he gets a free pass to stay by Aoi’s side. He says that sushei is a coward but he gets angry and tells him he doesn’t even know half of the story so he should close his mouth. This volume was definitely emotional. Aoi finally declares sushei her feelings but he is more closed off and now wateru is closer. Wateru has been into her for a while and he is determined to be there for her. He is also in love with Aoi so the love triangle is interesting. Sushei has been an asshole as always and it seems as if there was some girl on his life that passed away at some point. Idk what will happen in the next volumes but wateru seems like a better option for now: he likes to cool, he’s mature, he’s into Aoi, he grew up with 3 sisters so he knows how to listen and he’s kind to Aoi unlike Sushei who is always playing with her. As for now I’m rooting more for the new neighbor because Aoi is suffering way too much for sushei and doesn’t deserve that kind of treatment. I’m intrigued about what happened with sushei’s ex girlfriend and why she married the older brother but honestly I feel like Aoi overall deserves better

Last instalment, Sanjo puts his cards on the line and basically tells Shusei "If you make Aoi cry one more time I will take her home instead of you.
L DK volume 6, Aoi tries her best to make Shusei happy by training with Sanjo to make the perfect dish. Shusei never even took the time to take a bite before telling Aoi he was leaving the apartment. In all desperation she confessed her love to him, and in the end ... she is left in the rain alone and rejected. Sanjo confessed to Aoi, and Shusei pores his problems onto his sister.
I honestly have a love hate relationship with this volume, the way it was headed in the first half was amazing. When Shusei said he didn't feel the same I was in a 5 star mindset, because how many stories end up with the romantic counterpart in the end not having any attraction to the other. I soon after thought that the writer had pulled the wool over the readers eyes in attempt to create a fake love between the two. Soon after I read that Shusei's just afraid that he might hurt her ... how LAME! Like that hasn't been done in like EVERY LOVE STORY EVER! That's why my rating went from 5 to 2 stars ... yah BIG difference.
Summary: The closer Aoi and Wataru get, the further apart Shusei and Aoi become. Shusei has become cold and distant to Aoi ever since she befriended Wataru. Just when Aoi is afraid of losing Shusei the most, she finally admits her feelings for him. Will her constant persistence become rewarded or will she be left in the dust?
My Rating: 2.7-3 stars
My Review When Shusei catches Wataru holding Aoi after she burns her hand cooking in the land lady's apartment, it's hard to say whether Shusei is jealous or whether he actually is staying away from Aoi because he wants her to be happy because he thinks that she likes Wataru and also thinks that she could be happier with him.
Even though the readers are hinted at something underlying, I am really disappointed with this volume because it feels like we take 6 steps backward in the plot. Aoi still is in love with Shusei even though he mistreats her and abuses her and this time, literally keeps his distance from her. Basically it's back to square one, maybe even worse.
aoi nishimori told her roommate that she likes him, but it didn’t turn out as she hoped. he all but rejects her and moved out of the apartment. she keeps trying to get him to open up, even though there’s a classmate that actually is into her that’s trying to catch her attention.
shusei kugayama is refusing to acknowledge any feelings toward aoi and he’s treating her like shit. he moves out of their shared apartment to stay with his sister, leaving aoi behind.
aoi & shusei are not on the best terms. he consistently led her on only to pull a disappearing act. she ran out in the rain to get him so stay but it was far from romantic. it was depressing as hell. don’t chase after a guy, sis.
wataru sanjou is her neighbor and her only other male friend. he isn’t shy about telling her that he likes her but she isn’t interested in him since she’s already hung up on someone. i feel bad for the guy. i’m rooting for him over the asshole of a MMC. boy, bye.
This volume alludes to a secret from Shusei's past which may have a major impact on his relationship with Aoi. Since the series is 20+ volumes and I have just one more, I'm not likely to learn the details of that secret. That is my main disappointment that I don't have the other volumes. The story and art are well done, but they annoy me, because I want things to work out.
I give I just can't with this series. Male lead is a jerk with no redeeming qualities, female lead is a complete doormat for all his shit. Because she loves him. Girl, please. You're what 16, 17? You ain't in love with that jerk.
I like this very silly series enough to read multiple volumes available in English in three days. While the premise can be absurd and it often is overly exaggerated, it’s funny and the main two characters are interesting.
omg things are getting crazy now that one of their fellow classmates moved in next door and totally has the hots for Aoi ! and Shusei is starting to get a little bit jealous ! this series is good and i can't wait to see what will happen next .
Shusei is definitely scared of falling in love… but it’s too late, mister!!! You are in love!!! Stop being a prick and face it! And ugh Wataru … no don’t be a pick me boy!!! I like him but I hate when dudes come after the vulnerable girl, saying cringey shit.. “love me instead” *pukes*
