The healing powers of traditional yoga, Oriental medicine, nutrition, and other mind/body techniques are accessible with this do-it-yourself manual for women who are struggling with infertility or just looking to improve their odds of conception. Natural methods based on Integrative Care for Fertility™ use a holistic approach to demonstrate how a home-based holistic fertility program can improve mind, body, and spirit, and in turn maximize chances for conceiving. Photographs are provided to illustrate the proper yoga postures, and interspersed stories from yoga practitioners and experts present real-life struggles of infertility patients and victories that will inspire all women who are trying for a healthy pregnancy and birth.
Yet another fertility book I really enjoyed. This book can be paired with The Infertility Cleanse for a well rounded perspective. Fully Fertile provides methods to enhance your daily routine to improve your health (emotional and physical) and fertility. They make adding new practices easy because the book breaks down each week with one new focus so you are not overwhelmed by trying to make a bunch of changes all at once. The book includes some yoga poses and information about acupuncture. I think the practices in this book are very practical. Anyone can implement them in their daily routine without much fuss. At the end of the book there is a discussion about accepting and finding joy in your life when your fertility journey doesn't work out exactly as you had hoped. Again, this is another great fertility book that is sensitive to how the journey unfolds uniquely for each person. I would highly recommend it!
I didn't want to even put this book on goodreads, but my wife so kindly pointed out that if I intentionally omit all the fertility books I've been reading, it is going to greatly skew my reading data for the entire year. Since I love accurate data, I will add it. But if you want to know what I actually think about it, ask me directly.
I read this much earlier in the year, but now I can add it without giving away any personal secrets :) I would highly recommend this book to anyone who has read Taking Charge of Your Fertility and is looking to add in some mind-body balance, and to anyone who wants to conceive and is the least bit interested in holistic/alternative medicine and therapies.
Despite my lack of yogic terminology, this book reads really well. I find myself remembering poses (not necessarily names) and can do them with ease. What I like most, is it's not necessary to read in order. I've chosen chapters that are relevant to me at the time. A great partner to yogaonmonroe.com!
I didn’t actually implement this plan — it was a bit overwhelming for me. But even reading about the ideas and trying to incorporate some of them into my daily life was quite helpful. They have a center in Chicago and I had just found out that they have one here in the DC area too when I got pregnant. I was about to start going to some of their fertility yoga classes.
