FIRST OF ALL, I WOULDN'T EVEN TALK ABOUT WATARU AND THE DAY AFTER THE CONFESSION BECAUSE IT'S BEEN LIKE THAT FOR HOW MANY VOLUMES NOW.
I'LL JUST TALK ABOUT HOW SHUSEI APPEARED IN FRONT OF THE FATHER. I'M UTTERLY HUMILIATED, AND DISGUSTED. THAT'S IT, I'M DROPPING THIS.
Shusei doesn't have respect for Aoi, that's all. If it was my father who opened my apartment door and came face to face with Shusei, I'd definitely get a slap. And I knew I deserve it too. And enough with the "he's touchy-feely because he's Americanized" trope. Augh, racist mf. Everything's just piling up now and I thought I'd get a breather once they became a couple—BUT NO. THIS IS GETTING WAAAAAY WORSE AND I'M HAVING A HEADACHE. I CAN'T DEAL WITH THIS ANYMORE. GIVE ME BACK MY SLEEP 😭 it wasn't worth it. I'm really sorry Ayu Watanabe but you failed this time. There's so much red flag slapping me that I'm bleeding all over.
Augh, even amazon kindle is declining this series. The app crashes whenever I try to type my review there 😬
4/5 FUCKING FINALLLYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!! This volume starts with Aoi calling sushei. Unfortunately his ex picks up the phone and invites her to go over. Aoi realized he focused on the wrong guy and she wants to speak with sushei. Even if he doesn’t want her she is determined to do it. Once she arrives she finds out he’s shopping and he spend the night with his ex and she got a hickey. His ex brags about it and says she will never experience it and Aoi wonders if they are living together now. However sushei appears and says he was helping her to unpack his stuff and he will leave later. Aoi says she wants to speak with him but it’s not the right place to do it. She leaves and she goes back to her apartment and finds wateru there. Sushei calls her but Wateru picks up the phone and says it’s too late for him and Aoi belongs to him now (ewww). He basically tries to assault her but sushei arrives and breaks the window and beats wateru up. Sushei is the only one who can touch her and spend time with her (UNGA UNGAAAAA). He takes Aoi away and he’s injured but he doesn’t care. He wants to show her something and he wants her to listen to his story. When he was in elementary school he got his first girlfriend. She was quiet and really shy and not good at conversation. She wanted to be part of the basketball team but she was terrible. The coach didn’t pay attention to her, however she never gave up. She trained everyday after school and they started talking. Sushei had a lot of stuff going on at home and the training helped him to deal with it. It was a puppy love kind of thing when they never got to see each other I love you. Later on they went to separate middle schools but they kept training and she got selected for her first game. A few days before she died and sushei was devastated. She left him a note saying that she got to love herself thanks to him and she wants to stay with him forever. After that, he became captain of the basketball team and he met his previous girlfriend but he was trying to forget and didn’t treat her well. She was unhappy and she got in a relationship with his older brother because he was kind. After that sushei realized he would never love anyone else and when he noticed his feelings toward Aoi he panicked. He wanted to protect her but he was unable to and he tried to gave up on her. When wateru entered the picture he got jealous and reacted. He wants her to be his girlfriend but Aoi slaps him because he was selfish. He took a decision without talking to her about it and she got hurt. Sushei apologizes but he’s in love with her and wants to spend time with her. Aoi realizes he doesn’t have to forget his first relationship because it’s part of his history and who he is today and she’ll be there for him. They kiss and they go home and wateru is there. Sushei is going to let him punch his face to get even but wateru was acting before. Instead of punching him he kisses Aoi so now they are even (gross?) and he hopes they can be neighbors and have a good relationship. Aoi doesn’t know how to act with him not that he’s back. He’s flirty and he tries to kiss her but she can’t look him in the face. She makes some fancy European dinner for him and he tries to assault her (AGAIN) but she’s not having it this time. He takes her to this bridge in the dark that he saw on his way home. He thought she might love it and she does. He wants to make little memories with her and she wants them to go forward. The kiss with wateru doesn’t count and now they are lovers and they have to do stuff, however Aoi is not experienced and she’s scared of it. In the meantime her BFF Moe got a boyfriend as well. Aoi gets a call from her brother because her dad is going to visit her and he won’t allow her to live with a guy. She tries to convince sushei to leave but he is not having it and in the end he acts as if he’s the home teacher who is covering for the regular one who is on maternity leave. Her dad isn’t believing it and sushei acts weird and touches Aoi in front of him. Aoi says he came back from Japan and he’s Americanized and the dad wants sushei to speak in English to prove it. He speaks perfectly English and the dad buys it and they have dinner together. They chat for a bit and Aoi doesn’t believe what it’s happening. Sushei is wearing a suit and his dad is explaining how he is learning English now. He asks sushei if he works out and they have a competition to see how has the best naked body (cringe). In the end Aoi tells sushei to leave until her father is gone because she wants the day to be over and he does. Her dad wants to spend the night and he’s happy to see she’s healthy and not living with any guy. He wants her to call her more often and she never does because he’s always angry and he says he didn’t raise her good. Sushei enters again and goes to the wardrobe to grab some briefs because he is spending the night in another house and the dad asks what’s going on. Sushei admits they are living together and I guess hell will unleash in the next volume. Honestly this one was really cute. I loved how sushei opened up to Aoi and how he confessed his feelings. He’s still and asshole and he made comments about her bra size and I think Aoi forgave him way too easily and I don’t understand why wateru said it was a good acting but whatever. The dad scene was kind of funny to see because sushei is a 16 year old acting as if he’s an English teacher and aois dad is really weird. However I liked how sushei handled the situation for the most part and I’m happy to see he’s willing to give Aoi a chance, even if his behavior was terrible in the past. I wonder if his ex girlfriend will create more trouble and if the older brother will come back to make things even more difficult but I’m intrigued to see more about Aoi’s family. We got to see her brother at the festival and he looked out for her and his dad is really stric regarding boys and he didn’t want her to live alone in the past so I can’t wait to see what happens in the next volume

Ce 8 eme volume était bien meilleur que les tomes 6 et 7. J’ai retrouvé ma fougue des deux personnages même si cette saga a toujours été très addictive ! La suite est très prometteuse !
Well I'm happy that they FINALLY got together but that last chapter has me confused as to what's going to happen next with Aoi's dad and the fact that Shuusei's told him the truth. Oops.
Shusei is really starting to get on my nerves now. It really seems to me that aside him being the immature person that he is, he’s also an insensitive and selfish jerk. I have found it kind of odd throughout the series that highschoolers are just allowed to live together like adults, by Aoi’s brother as well; nobody finds that weird? But okay, I ignored it due to the romance aspect. I also found it weird that Sanjou and Shusei’s bro just found it okay to kiss Aoi without her consent for “fun” and how Aoi is portrayed as this submissive main character. All of that, I tried to ignore from the past volumes but all of that HAS been building up.
Shusei not only is immature, which I have bypassed because they’re just highschoolers so maybe that’s an age thing. But he’s utterly rude to Aoi and her wishes all the time. Aoi made it clear how she felt with him introducing himself to her dad and how she doesn’t want to hurt her dad’s feelings by living with him. Yet, he’s so pushy and reveals himself so many times. He didn’t even think ahead for their relationship before being so reckless. All because HE doesn’t want to hide it, doesn’t mean it’s okay with Aoi. Since it IS AOI’S FATHER, AOI KNOWS BETTER about him, not Shusei. Since it’s Aoi’s family, it should be handled the way SHE wants it. Shusei is so full of himself and I’m so tired of it. He always has to be that person who thinks that they are always right; he’s always flustering and embarrassing Aoi out and not in a cute way, not to mention the stress that he puts her through! He’s not a good boyfriend, idk why he’s being portrayed as that either.
I like this very silly series enough to read multiple volumes available in English in three days. While the premise can be absurd and it often is overly exaggerated, it’s funny and the main two characters are interesting.
I don't know if it was because I was sleep deprived when I read it, but this volume was just a bit confusing and abrupt to me. I still loved it though.
Un tome plein d'humour, j'ai tellement ri et c'est tellement plaisant de sortir de cette phase déprimante dans laquelle se retrouvaient nos deux personnages.
