The Shih Tzu by Deborah Wood & Wayne Hunthausen D.V.M. is part of the Terra-Nova Discover a Whole New World of Dogs series. I picked it up at our local library because we have just adopted a 5 year old Shih Tzu. The book was a good overview of what to expect with a new Shih Tzu, whether a puppy or adult. It is divided into 8 chapters, covering breed history, characteristics, feeding, grooming, training and health. Since we have never had a Shih Tzu before, this was all very helpful. There is a DVD attached to the end of the book, which covers those areas in a more general way that could apply to any dog. The series would probably be good for any specific breed, and we would definitely recommend this book on the Shih Tzu.

This is the best book I found about specific breeds of dog. Decided it was much better then Dog Training for Dummies...LOL. Thorough, concise, and specific instructins for my Shih Tzu.

I adopting a baby...she'll be a year 12 April 09 and it's going to be great! There are so many things to learn and this book has everything.

No matter your breed, Petco had what you need...this is the best series I've found!
