Isabelle, the protagonist, is monumentally dramatic and on more than one occasion, incredibly stupid. That being said, I enjoyed the world the author created and tore through the book.

While this is not a bad novel for a self-pub/vanity press book, the author seems to have forgotten that she set her book in post WW-II 1948. The language as well as some of the settings are very modern. About the only thing that seems to be "accurate" for the time period is Isabelle's really annoying prudish behavior, and even *that* is not consistent.

This was a great read that will not take you long to finish. Very atmospheric that takes you on adventures to different parts of the world. Very much a gotic love story that is creatively written.
