Gotta say, interesting ending BUT in no way am i pissed because AT LEAST i know that Taylor and Layla are TOGETHER :) Can't wait to see what happens next!!!!

Okay soooo... this would have been a really good read, if i had never read Beautiful Disaster by Jamie McGuire. I was pretty much the same story; hustler girl, fighter boy, school setting even the "side kicks" where similar. It was a good story, it was just to similar to Beautiful Disaster, and the thing is Beautiful Disaster is AMAZING! and original. So yeah, if your looking for this type of storyline, i recommend you read Beautiful Disaster first. Its not only a great story, its very well written. When comparing this book to BD this book comes up way short. Needless to say, the book ends on sort of a cliff hanger, meant to make you want to read the next in the series, i am sorry to say i am really not interested and wont be reading the next one. :/

“Maybe , just one kiss,”

Layla, a born and raised hustler, living her life by old man's rules, never get close and never get caught. Her perfect little world is torn upside down when Taylor, the hottie on campus decides to make his presence known. Weeks now he’s been watching her, when she should be invisible, she is instantly freaked with the attention he seems to so freely give her.
Sure, call me sleazy, a flirt or manipulative, but that’s my game. That’s how I pay the rent. And it’s due next week, so I’ve hustled a few tonight. Suckers.

Taylor the resident MMA champion fighter, is more than capable to taking care of himself and after a hustle gone bad, Layla has no choice but to let Taylor keep her captive. If her past taught her anything, it's knowing what those men are capable of if they ever get their hands on her.
Taylor wipes my eyes and let’s my wrists free from his grasps. “I’m not getting hurt, Layla. Do you understand me? I won’t get hurt. I can take care of myself… and you. If you will just let me.”

Make Me Yours, was a cute NA read, sexual tension and banter light up the pages, but something was missing from me, to me it was a story I was reading that never felt like I was a part of. Funny how I usually don’t think about those kind of things when I read a book until that feeling is gone. Good enough read, but I wasn’t totally digging it.

This is a fantastic read...Taylor and Layla were driven my emotional attachment more so than lust!

I think my ovaries have just imploded

description

Taylor worked for the beautiful, strong willed Layla whom is a pool hustler/college student. Taylor has an abusive past. He takes what he wants and no girl would ever deny him except our adorable withdrawn Layla whom resists every time he pulls. And man, this guy knows how to work it.

Please don't miss this one...it includes tear jerking memories of a father-daughter relationship, long lasting healthy connections between two adults, and a hotter than hot hero.

Seriously, Taylor was making me blush (he has tattoos and piercings and this usually turns me off faster than you can say Shrimp Cheese!) He defies all my usual rules when it comes to psychical characteristics of a hero (yes i am that picky.)

OOOhhh my god, I won't go into it but he just takes control growling things like "mine" all the time which I am an absolute sucker for!

Ya'll know me if there is a half naked guy on the cover you know I'll read the bookie. Layla has issues but I think Taylor helps her through them, when we first meet Layla and her first encounter with Taylor I almost peed myself laughing, she's a feisty thing, "I get it, I do. You're the campus hottie that gets any girl he wants. And I'm the girl that doesn't want anything to do with you." I sigh. "That's life in the fast lane, kid. It's been nice chatting but I have to get home. I have work in the morning." Taylor is possessive and protective and Layla finds this out one night especially where her a** is concerned:
"What the hell, Taylor? You just broke his effing hand."
His jaw muscle flexes but he shrugs. "he touched your a**."
"Lots of guys touch girls' a**es in a pool hall, Taylor. You gonna go break all their hands, too?"
He tilts his head to the side. "Only the ones that touch yours."
I wasn't expecting a cliffhanger with this bookie, but I guess you never really know a bookie until you get to the end of it. I liked this book and I can't wait for the next installment.

I was really disappointed with this book- it had so many good reviews that I really thought I was going to love it, but alas it was not meant to be..... First let me start off by saying that this book has so much potential! It could be really great! But it needs an editor..... badly. There were so many grammatical errors, I wanted to pull my hair out! And to me, this book read more like an outline. It needs to be filled in and explained more. The people would jump from scene to scene with no explanation at all and Taylor (while smoking hot) fell for Layla way too quickly and (again!) without any explanation given as to why. This book also had many similarities to Beautiful Disaster but I decided to overlook it because I felt like it was still different enough to not come across as a rip-off (although it was a close one). The ending of this book, while a huge cliffhanger, only left me mildly curious and I seriously doubt that I'll be reading the next book.

Where to begin....

As a story it was entertaining but only because it has a lot of similarities to one of my favorite books Beautiful Disaster.

I'm not going to claim plagiarism here but there were enough similarities that raised a red flag for me:

Travis is a bad boy/fighter/manwhore
Taylor the same.

Layla is a hustler in pool
Abby is a hustler in poker

There is practically an identical classroom scene where the teacher says something because Taylor is all over Layla....

Even the whore is named Megan in both books!

The similarities can continue but I don't have time to name them all.

Also, there were enough grammatical errors that I almost stopped reading the book completely!
A simple read through should suffice in fixing those errors (beat instead of bet being a main one)

If I hadn't read Beautiful Disaster then I would have given this book 3.5/5 stars, but I think it's too close for comfort.

This book had good bits and bad bits:

Good: Loved the story line, the characters, the build up of wondering what was going to happen next, the fierceness of the female character..Oh and that cover is HOT!!

Bad: The spelling/Grammar is really shocking, I'm not talking about 1 or 2 words it's all the way through the novel, to the point in some places you have to guess at what the word is meant to be,which is a shame because if those were all tweaked this book would be getting my 5 stars..
Plus there is no mention about book 2 until you get to the ending of this..

Oh and if I didn't love my kindle so much I'd be smashing it with a hammer over that sucky cliff hanger!! Bring on book 2!!

Still definitely going to recommend this book as it grabs you and doesn't let you out of it's clutches until you finish reading..

This book is a horrible ripoff of Beautiful Disaster by Jamie McGuire. The writting is terrible. The author obviously does not have spell check. I would not recommend this book to anyone! I can't believe I paid for this garbage. This is a lawsuit waiting to happen!!!

I was definitely getting a Travis 'Maddog' Maddox vibe from Taylor
description
(I love how everyone associates Colton Haynes as Travis "Maddog" Maddox, so when a "Beautiful Disaster" movie comes out, Colton better play the part or a bunch of hearts will be breaking. This is like Alex Pettyfer and Jace fom "City of Bones")
Now this had been on my "Next-read" shelf for the past few months, and I think I was just putting aside because it seemed like such a "meh" book but you know, I've got the biggest fighter complex, ever. I just had to give this a shot.
First part, I was in love with Layla. Honestly. If I had to pick a book girlfriend her in the first 80 pages would be it
description
She was so fucking badass.. Just the way she acted and the way she thought. Emotionally closed off, and talking about how all the guys are pricks. CRAZY IN LOVE.
Now Taylor's impression given in the book wasn't very good.. He didn't play off as an attractive guy to me, I think it was the tongue piercing and eyebrow piercing. Those are such turn offs so I wasn't really feeling hot and heavy for him...
description
Now I went through phases in this book.. It started off
description
And then

Then it got to

But then

Not bad, not bad
I think I'll give the other 2 books a go and see where it takes me.

This book was like a reading beautiful disaster with a little less information about our characters, more experienced sex, and no explanation why Taylor even wanted to be with Layla. Don't get me wrong I enjoyed reading it and her writing style wasn't bad but she needs to go more in debt about her characters and story it was kind out like someone just made up a quick story and wrote it down.

4.5 stars, I really enjoy this book, The spunk on the couple, the MMA fights that were going on. And let's not forget the hustle. This book had me wanting more of Taylor, Layla was my girl strong, but she wanted Taylor but she was scared on what might hold. The future will tell, can't wait for the next one, because I feel incomplete. Kudos to the author. Bravo!

Hints of Another Leaves Me Wanting More

I received this e book to read in anticipation of being a beta reader for the second installment, You Are Mine. I was not asked to read this book for a review, but I am reviewing it anyway because I liked this book and want to share me take on it. The digital copy I received was not a fully-edited version. While it did have a handful of typos & punctuation errors, I am assuming these have been corrected for the version that is available for sale in the marketplace, and I am not going to comment on editing.

As other reviewers have already observed, this story has serious hints and similarities as Beautiful Disaster, two college kids with rough, quick-to-grow-up childhoods/histories, he fights, she hustles, they have a zero-to-sixty in 2.3 seconds love/lust romance. This is fine with me. Good stories that are popular and widely read often breed other good stories that are similar in flavor. I do not mind reading fan fiction. If you have a problem reading "the original" and then reading something extremely similar, you might prefer to pass on this one for the time being.

This first installment serves the purpose of introducing the characters, setting up a confrontation and then resolving that confrontation. Had the story ended there, we would have a fine novella. Instead, with the receipt of a somewhat mysterious letter, the story ends with what others have termed a "cliffhanger". Some reviewers are ticked about this. I don't think this "cliffhanger", if it truly should be called that, is a significant one -- we aren't left "dangling over a cliff". The letter and its brief message simply sets the reader up with interest in the sequel. A cliffhanger (an ending to an episode of a serial drama that leaves the audience in suspense)leaves a climatic situation unresolved. I don't believe we have this here. The climax is resolved with H coming to h's rescue and h recovering and being sent home from the hospital. We simply have a introduction of new information to be resolved in the next installment.

My only criticism is that this story is too short and a bit under developed in parts. I'd like the author take time to expand this first book from novella length and feel to novel length and feel. Layla's confrontation with Rod was written too abbreviated, even Layla's "last time" with Taylor was written far too abbreviated. Some portions of this story feel like they were written in a rush, while other portions feel well-developed and polished. This is a great beginning; I'd like to see it become all that is has the potential of becoming.

This is a great beginning that leaves me wanting more.... yes, on one hand I "want more" in terms of the next installment, but, more importantly, I want more from this beginning. As the author is preparing You Are Mine for beta reading, I don't think my wish for more will come to pass. I look forward to reading the continuation!

I recommend this to those who enjoy college-aged new adult romance. If you enjoyed Beautiful Disaster, you may enjoy this as well, but know that this is more akin to a novella version of BD and not as fully developed. I look forward to reading more from this author. Teach Me sounds very yummy!!!

I give this a big fat 5 stars!

Wow! This book swept me off my feet! At first I was hesitant to read this book as it has mixed reviews and said bad typos.. but since I'm a sucker for sexy covers and possessive heroes- I just couldn't help but buy the book! ^_^

The first page got me hooked and wasn't able to put it down! I devoured this in one sitting! Someone mentioned this was a copy of Beautiful Disaster and I totally disagree! I love BD and yes there are some similarities but that doesn't mean the author just copied it. Make Me Yours is unique in it's own special way.

description

“I’m not getting hurt, Layla. Do you understand me? I won’t get hurt. I can take care of myself…and you. If you will just let me.”

Layla is a poor college student, pool hustler and lives by the rules her father taught her... Never get caught and Never get too close.. but those rules went out of the window when she met the sexy fighter Taylor...

All the characters are loveable, Layla is an great heroine.. she's witty and strong but behind that tough exterior is a broken soul.

Make Me Yours is a nice story- the chemistry between Taylor and Layla was great and the sex scenes are scorching! I didn't mind the grammar errors as I was so focused on the story and Taylor.. hehe!

“Your fucking mine now, Layla,” his whispers into my ear. “You just don’t fucking know it.”

description

Taylor.. gosh! where do I start with this man?! He's the boy your daddy always warned you about.. tattooed, pierced, sexy, super protective, alpha, possessive, awesome and the list just goes on! I love that he's adamant about what he wants, also it was super sexy that he's so confident and full of himself. lol.

Gawd.. and the way he talked dirty... rawr~!

Sorry for my fangirling over Taylor.. lol. I have a weakness when it comes to possessive heroes and really this guy is on the top of my list! How I wish this was a longer book.. and I was pissed that it ended with a cliffy... -___-

Overall, this is a great story.. it's hot, sexy, angst, and highly recommend this book!

Ms. Alla Kar please release the book two now! ^_^

I absolutley loved this book. Any Beautiful Disaster fans out there, this is a must read for you. People have said these books are too similar, but besides the one fight night and a completely drool worthy Taylor, the story lines are completely different.
Layla is a hustler, she is also very damaged by her past and has decided not to get close to anyone. Then she starts forgetting her own rule, starting with her roommate Cindy, coworker Eric and finally the persistent Taylor. What I loved about her was how strong and selfless she was. Not caring about here safety, willing to risk her own life for the sake of her friends. Now let's not forget about Taylor, another name I have to add to my ever growing book boyfriends list *sigh* He is there for her when she needs him, even when she doesn't want him to be and tries like hell to push him away.
Yes there are a few grammatical errors, but for me the story was so good they took nothing away from the enjoyment of this book. If you are the grammar police or you're one of those people it really bothers than maybe you can't get past it, but they were few and far between.
I will warn you, it's a major cliffhanger that will send you scrambling to get the next one, I know I'm getting it ASAP!
I would recommend this book to others, I will defiantly be reading it again and again, and will be reading more by Alla Kar!

Tattoos, Piercings, Abs to die for and a fighter..............sigh.......... me want!

Seriously another cliffhanger!! No warning that this may be part of a series, arghhhhh I can't believe I have to wait to find out what happens next.

There is one thing the author has GOT to do better in the next book (and revisit this one) and that is get an editor. Oh boy there are grammatical errors and stupid spelling mistakes abound in this book and for the cost of the book compared to other in this genre it's at a higher price tag than some 5 star reads out there, and that is really bad when there are so many mistakes within.

That said, this book has a great story to it, it's certainly hot and the chemistry is there. I found it very visual too. The whole story comes across very real and the emotions pour from Layla as she tries her hardest to live by her father's rule, but she's finding it more and more difficult. Taylor is adamant she's going to let him in and he won't give up, he just wants to protect her and I have to say, his swagger, his arrogance and his badassness :0) drip off the pages and burn in your brain.

I am looking forward to see how their relationship further develops and how she is going to deal with the whole of what is coming next.

This is a great book and a really good story. Layla is a "hustler" and lives by the rules her father taught her. Two of the rules are "don't let anyone get close" and "don't get caught." Layla's parents paid the price for his hustling when a guy came and shot them both in their house but luckily Layla got away. Layla then meets Taylor Jack's, he's the popular and sexy guy that ever girl wants on campus and he's a fighter. Layla wants him but does everything possible to keep him away. I think there is going to be another book but not certain. I can't wait to read the next book if there is one!! Layla and Taylor are great for one another, they help each other out from their sad pasts.

Also, I saw a review state that this was just an infringement and a copy of a Beautiful Disaster, but I disagree. Yes they had a couple of similarities but so many books have things in common and have nothing to do with one another. Yes Taylor is popular with the ladies and a fighter but Abby isn't a hustler. She does play cards like nobodies business but it is a totally different thing. The stories are really different in a fundamental way. I like both books but because of the stories and how they were written.

Ihhhh...

Devagar devagarinho meu povo!

Mas, adivinhe?! O final dessa merda me deixou encafufada e to querendo ler o próximo livro! Pqp, mereço!

Se recomendo?! Se vc quer ler uma cópia resumida de “Belo Desastre”, se joga!

Layla is this supposed hussler, who hussles "rich, preppy college boys for 100$, 200$ there. If I'm going to have a nickname like that we should be talking a bit more than a pair of jeans? Taylor is this big shot figher (Travis Maddox, anyone?) So basically he meets her wants in her pants and she refuses.. I swear to all mighty If I had to read "Please let me make you feel good, tell me when to stop!" one more time I was going to take a pencil and stick it in my eye socket... The story just didn't do it for me, it felt rushed.. You barely know a thing about the characters besides:
Layla: Hussler and blonde
Taylor: hotshot and hot?
Cindy/Candy/C something: roomate and slut
Eric: Gay

The book had me rolling my eyes so much I am surprised I'm not doing it now..

Well, I have to say I love Taylor Jacks. I have a thing for tattoos, and bad boys. This is a short novel, but I think Alla makes it work. I also like that Layla is different, hard and her hustling skills are great. I like that she does need help but she doesn't act like a damsel, I get tired of that! There is a cliff hanger at the end, and I honestly didn't see it coming. You think she is safe, and then her past comes back to bite her in the butt. I would like to read the next one and see what happens. For me, this novel is good for a steamy, short and fast read. It's most definitely for an older audience. There is sexual content (and it's super hot). So, I recommend this to anyone who likes sexy, fast reads.

4.5 stars.

After a lot of dud books that I've gotten on my Kindle, I've finally found another one that I really liked! I was hesitant to get this because the reviews on Amazon said there were a lot of typo's, but I decided to buy it and I'm really glad I did!

This book reminded me a lot of "Beautiful Disaster" by Jamie McGuire and I loved that book. I am definitely excited to see what happens next. At least, I hope there is more to come?!? Cause that was not a "this is finished" ending to the novel! So I will keep my eyes out to see if there will be a sequel to this novel.

But yes, I may be one of the few who did love this book. Doesn't matter, I enjoyed it from start to finish!

This book made me laugh.

Sure Taylor is hot and stuff, sure Layla is scarred by her past and stuff, but seriously?

The theme of this story had me intrigued, mostly because I always love alpha guy. But this alpha guy is kind of freaked me out. Taylor's always there, wherever Layla go. I think it finally came to the point where his behavior is creepy, not romantic. He stalked her and that's not sweet at all. I feel like Layla's been forced to "like" him just because he's hot. I don't even know why she liked him in the first place.

But i have to admit, the story left me wondering and I want to read the sequel. Could've been better but I enjoyed it. :)

OMG! Taylor can give me 'just one kiss' anytime! Great chemistry between Taylor and Layla and a unique storyline. Every girl dreams of a guy like Taylor to take care of them. A great change of pace from billionaires and virgins which are really getting a bit boring. My only complaint was the cliff hanger ending and having to wait for the next book. Please write fast Alla Kar lol. Loved it and highly recommend this book.

Super quick read. Things progressed a little too fast. Like here's my number call me maybe.... Fuck me on this pool table kind of quick.... And then there was the random cliff hanger at the end. This book has definite potential, if it could have been longer and more developed. Idk about some guy basically stalking me and going hey fuck it lets have sex..... Still an easy read if you are looking for a beautiful disaster like book.

one let's get the housekeeping out of the way. This needs some serious editing. Wrong use of words, wrong tense, wrong use of characters names, the list goes on.
But the story? Awesome! I was fixated. I couldn't put it down. Now I'm on to the next part of the story. Taylor is the bomb-digity! Kayla is a strong woman concerned more about her friends' safety than her own. Can't wait to see how it all plays out!

Found this story boring and very predictable. There wasn't anything interesting happening in the story until the end of the book. Although the ending did end in a bit of a surprise I know I won't be purchasing the next book to find out what happens next. So glad it was short book otherwise I'd have fallen asleep reading this. A bit more excitement needs to help this series along!
