Pets: Three Pack

Available only on Kindle, Darla Phelps - the Pets series.

Book 1: Bach's Story

Bach never gave much thought to owning a pet until he lost his wife and children. He goes to Exotics, Inc., and buys a human, the latest fad in the pet-trade. Pani is everything he ever hoped for: smart, mischievous, both looking and acting so much like a real child that Bach can almost forget she's only a pet. At least until her actions begin to go beyond the limits of the subspecies' intelligence scientifically accredited to the human animal. She speaks, she writes. When she draws a picture of Earth's solar system, Bach must face the realization that perhaps humans are more than just small, adorable, child-like animals. They might actually be a race of people in their own right.

Book 2: Pani's Story

There is no panic quite like waking up in a strange house with no memory of how you’d got there…unless that strange house is also located on a planet inhabited by giants who look on humans as fascinating, child-like pets. For Judy, a successful, liberated woman, being forced into perpetual infancy is intolerable. But how to go about convincing her new ‘Papa’ that she is not a cute and clever animal, but a species of person in her own right. Stubborn and willful and absolutely determined to win back her freedom at any cost…and that includes at the cost of her bottom!

Book 3: Bebe's Story

Welcome to Bebe’s world, where for centuries human beings have been the focal point of the exotic pets trade. But now, the government has declared humans an endangered species, shutting off the supply from the wilds of Earth and leaving only those who are born into captivity available as pets.

Meet Bebe, taken from her captive mother at a tender age, she is now the companion of monsters. She has been pampered, loved and cared for all her life. She has never seen Earth, never known the hardships of life in the wild like the humans living in the nature preserves. And yet, life is change, and for Bebe, there is no escaping this one irrefutable, universal fact: An overprotective parent is a good pet’s worst nightmare.

Author's Note: Of all the ageplay stories I've done, this has been the most popular. It is also darker, with a heavy Sci-Fi setting and the discipline is more severe in regards to spankings, medical and anal play. The situation is forced onto Pani at first, so if that doesn't appeal to you, please don't buy this book.

Review about Book One Only.
Four days after reading this book, I'm still not able to get rid of the bad taste this book left me with.

Bach lost his wife and kids in an accident a couple of years ago, he is not ready (or want to) start a new relationship, so he decides to get a pet. It just so happens that Bash is an 8 feet alien and the pet is human. Apparently in his world, humans have been sold as pets for at least 50-70 years (if you go by the fact that in some conversations the aliens described having pets died of old age).

The book is all about how “he” felt, the female character had only three or four lines that she repeats constantly; if I didn’t know better, I would have though she was a parrot. There was no character building for the heroine, in the whole book she didn’t have any though or saying at all.

I’m not sure if the author was trying to dehumanize the heroine somehow, so we do not feel disgusted by the way she was treated.

I have never read a more disgusting and humiliating tale, I kept passing the pages hoping and waiting, reading, and wishing he would realized she was a person. He never did, not even at the end, for him she will always be a pet, a pet that he f***S.
I’m the kind of person that thinks anything goes between the sheets, as long as is consensual, I can even take dubious consent. She never consented to anything he did to her, dubious or otherwise.
Never again

Scifi pet play with depth and deeper messages. Really enjoyed how this was done. Really, really enjoyed the kink.

Best of the genre (spoilers)

Aliens abduct humans to be pets/sex slaves and (MC)humans end up loving it. Probably the best written I've seen. Nice balance between porn and plot. Decent characterizations.

Loses a star for narrative holes. It's unbelievable that the "eureka" moments which allow the 'good' aliens to understand that humans are sentient beings (with thousands of abductees) would not have happened many times previously. In fact, the explanation of why the aliens see humans as sentient doesn't hold together. IMO it's a cheap rationalization to relieve the alien culture of actual guilt for actions. Also, the immediate and almost universal willingness of the aliens to embrace humans as sentient is not believable. A few other holes as well.

Still, if the genre interests you but you want more quality, Pets is you're go to.

The best tale I have read in a while

I wasnt sure about this series when I read the initial outline, I am not really into pet play themes- but it was recommended to me. I am so glad I read it... the last book in the series was brilliant. It was very hot and steamy- very dark erotica at times places - I will defo be recommending.

Ok. I picked these up after seeing it on a list with The Pet Project because I’m intrigued by the whole aliens keeping humans as pets idea. It was also on kindle unlimited. I was very hesitant about these because 1) the covers (why oh why) and 2) the kink aspect. Admittedly the kink stuff didn’t add anything to my reading experience, but I don’t think it detracted anything major either. The surrounding story and world was what really held me in.

The first book I had the most hesitance for, naturally, and there is definitely some extra suspension of belief needed with the more out there plot points (kidnapping by the breeder, the astronaut and then returning back), but I oddly didn’t mind. I honestly can’t pinpoint why I liked the first. It must be because the ideas and world were so intriguing. The writing was surprisingly good as well. I like the semi darkness. Like I said above, I didn’t really care about/for the kink, but it does play a pretty heavy role in the story so it naturally affects my rating a little. It did make me feel a little weird and on edge while reading, wondering if or when it would cross a line into something I would nope out about. I don’t want to say those parts held it back for me, but naturally it did, because those sections just weren’t for me. I’m not the audience for that. It never added any enjoyment for me. I think, just for my own personal taste, with a little less bondage and dd/lg elements that this would have been a little higher rated in my eyes (a little is cool, I’m not totally opposed to that stuff, it can be fun!). I would probably give this book a high 3 or low 4 stars.

The second book I was hesitant about because generally I’m not into retellings from another persons perspective, but this was fine. I felt the urge to skim only a tiny bit, which is honestly pretty victorious for me. It also helped that the original story, so also this, was pretty short. 2 stars, maybe 3.

The last book. Oh baby. Heartbreaking. Really good. Surprisingly had kind of good consent? Which is kind of weird after the first story. Learning about Bebe’s life being born on this foreign planet and all her different owners/homes was so interesting and sad. This one made me cry a little, what? This one also didn’t really have much kink... I guess take what you will from that. I think this was... 5 stars? That feels weird, but also right.

Surprising reads, every single one.

WOW. So much to parse here.

I don't know how I feel about this -its all sorts of fucked up. THIS is really humans being treated as pets - and it makes you think about the way we treat our domestic animals. Not quite what I'm looking for in Romance.

Loved it!

I absolutely positively loved this trio of books! The different points of view and the honest feelings just were wonderful. I loved the conclusion, and though of course I wouldn't mind reading more, I feel quite comfortable believing that all will turn out.well.

Not what I expected

I got a recommendation for this off the dark erotica group on goodreads. It's only got dark elements and barely erotica. It's an interesting read... definitely an interesting concept but as I was looking for, and hoping for, something else, I found myself disappointed. There is sex, just not a lot of it and the dark elements are more implied.

I really liked this series! Humans as pets for giant aliens.... Lots of naughtiness, story line worth following beyond the naughtiness ;-)
