FINALLY a book that I enjoyed as much as Ivan.
LOVED Dimitri...LOVED Benny...LOVED the sexy times. The plot flowed nicely and I never felt the need to skim.

They just keep getting better
This is Dimitri's story...
Dimitri lives above a bakery, he can afford to live anywhere but chooses to stay there so he can watch Benny.
Benny has been left a failing bakery and is struggling to keep it going. With a corrupt property developer after her shop and her brother Johnny who is mixed up with a local gang, she doesn't want to give up on either.
Dimitri is there to protect her. He wants to help her with her brother, can he save him from what he's now become involved in?
He may need to turn also to his Russian friends...
Dimitri loves Benny and when he makes his intentions clear to her, will she accept what he's offering her in and outside of his bed.

Oh my...Ivan was okay but Dmitri...well, I'll just say, I'm a fan. I love a man that is dangerous, know's exactly how he feels, has a dominanting yet sweet nature and is a DIRTY TALKER! I liked Dimitri a lot more than I liked Ivan and the steam level was much hotter.
“I can’t wait to get you home. I’m going to strip you naked and tie you up.”

Is it possible my smut level was running low and I didn't even know it?? Either way, I've definitely been sucked into the guilty pleasure of Her Russion Protector series. The books aren't great literature and there's nothing original about them but still hit a sweet spot for me and that's why I'm giving this four guilty pleasure stars! I'm actually skipping over book three (which is crazy for me since I normally don't skip around!) and diving into book four. Nikolai seems like the baddest of the bad-asses...I can't wait any longer!

I liked Dimitri and Benita. Poor Benita has been thru so much you can feel for her character. The only thing lacking for me is we never really learn anything about Dimitri's past. There is not enough depth to his character. But, I like this series and will continue on with it.
The love scenes; I will say they are kind of hot. Not in a deep alpha male kind of way but alpha male none the less and Dimitri is the one giving direction thru them and he does like his dirty words. Plus he's a little kinky!
Tattooed, kinky, semi-alpha, dangerous, good looking, loyal and has an accent! Yeah, he's a keeper.
I gave it 3.5 stars instead of four because I really wanted to know more about Dimitri's character. That could happen in later books though, we will see. All in all I really like Dimitri.

She is a Latina bakery owner with a crush. When these two get together, they can set the book's pages on fire. I'd never read a book with a sex swing in it before.
Her gangbanger brother was an annoyance. But he didn't show up that often and most of the focus of the story was on Dimitri and Benita's romance.

I really fell in love with this author reading the first in the series. Had to find the second and it didn't disappoint. They both don't shy away from the fact that life is tough and we might have a weak moments but life goes on. I would want a boyfriend like Dimitri. Considerate, protective, gentle but tough when need be and above all loves me enough to understand and support me. Benny is really in a tough spot. and navigating it has really been tough for her but pushing through is what she does. Now with Dimitri?

This book just didn't work out for me as I found myself skimming after 50% of reading.
Hero and heroine felt incompatible to each other. I liked Dimitri a lot, it's Benny I got problem with. She annoyed me.
I liked the book's a bit lengthy than previous but the story line didn't impress me. Besides, the action part wasn't as thrilling as previous book. That was bummer.
I hope next book will be good. Read on your own peril.

This is the second in the Russian Protector series and I am really enjoying it. Dimitri and Benny are sweet and sexy together. We have the requisite stupid sibling (I guess) just like in book 1. Benny has not had an easy life and life is throwing more at her in the way of Jonah Krause, business man, trying to force her to sell. Too bad for him she has Dimitri on her side. Dimitri is my new book boyfriend!

This is the story of Dimitri, a Russian immigrant, former soldier in the Russian Army, Hot, sexy dude, tenant above the bakery who happens to have three really strong alphas-who all grew up in a seedy orphanage.
Ivan-former thug, gangster, enforcer for a loan shark, ex-con who turned away from it all and now runs an elite fight training center. He hooked up with Erin in book 1...and saved her drug addicted sister, Ruby, from being killed in a gang war.
Yuri-another former soldier who got into some mob business but turned legit and now is a rich billionaire...He is trying to hire and/or date Benny, Erin and Viv's friend Lena. Lena grew up on the wrong side of the tracts and saw alot of horrible things growing up but she got her self through school and stayed out of trouble. (They are the next book)
Nikholi-a former? gangster, wealthy club and restaurant owner...who still holds some pull on the street in their city of Houston. Gangs are afraid of him and he is pretty intimidating. He protects Vivian, who has had a very, very difficult past...her mom was Russian and she is a waitress in Nikholi's restaurant "Samovar" where he can keep an eye on her.
Dimitry has secretly been in love with Benny for years and she has had a crazy crush on him but never moved on it thinking he was out of her league. She has a crazy younger brother who is 19 and thinks he knows everything. He is in a gang and he treats her like crap, not taking any care as to what his involvement in gangs will mean to her. Dimitry and Benny find each other and he skates a thin line between staying in Benny's good graces and wanting to pummel her brother.
There is also a unscrupulous land developer trying to force her out of her three generation bakery that she runs. Benny and her brother Johnny have lost both their parents and grandparents recently and money is stretched way too thin. She is so worried about losing her bakery and letting down her employees.
Benny and Dimitry have crazy chemistry between them, the sex is wild and he introduces Benny to a little bit of kink. I like this couple together and how their love just bubbles up between them. They work together. What this story is about is the entanglements between Benny, her brother, his gang, the real estate developer and the police. An impossible situation develops and it looks like Dimitry and his friends have to come to the rescue.
I really enjoyed this book better than book 1 because the length was better. Book one had 87 pages this 214 pages....In other word, time to develop characters, situations and romantic involvement....I really enjoyed it!!!

I loved this book! About 8% into the book he starts with the dirty talking. Let me say that my absolute favorite alpha males are ones who are dirty talkers. Unfortunately he doesn't do this the entire time in the book, but only during sex and all the other times he is a smooth talking gentleman. I think this is even sexier! Dimitri also has a little bit of kink to him, with some mild bdsm. He's an absolute dream!
The only thing I wish is that there was an audible version with this book and maybe some hot Russian guy would do the narration. Maybe I should send an email to Ms. Rivera and see if she could make this happen.
The great news is that the first book Ivan is free for Kindle on Amazon. There are also a couple of extra stories with Ivan & Erin that you could read on Ms. River's website for free. I believe there are also a couple of stories about Dimitri & Benny as well:

The main characters in this second story of the ‘Her Russian protector’ series are Benita (or Benny like everyone calls her) Marquez-Burkhart and Dimitri Stepanov. We met both of them in the previous story ‘Ivan’. Benny’s grandparents founded the bakery when they arrived in Houston, America. So the bakery means a lot to Benny but bad decisions made by her grandmother have left the bakery in financial trouble. Benny is trying very hard to save her business but that isn’t her only worry. Her younger brother Johnny is involved with the dangerous Hermanos street gang. Luckily, Benny can always count on Dimitri. He’s a tenant above the bakery but has become a good friend in those five years that they have known each other. Benny always had a little crush on Dimitri but she never told him, thinking that he would never fall for someone like her but then one night…. they kiss and that’s the start of their relationship. But danger is surrounding them, can Dimitri keep Benny and her brother safe?
I really liked Benny and Dimitri, they were perfect for each other. Dimitri was an alpha guy, very protective of Benny and dominant in the bedroom but he also listened to her and respected her opinions. That was something that I really liked about him. Both Dimitri and Benny were hard workers, intelligent and owned their own businesses. Dimitri had a security company (specialised in training bouncers and bodyguards).
Their relationship seemed to go fast but they had known each other for five years. So in that way, it wasn’t that quick. The sex scenes in this story were ‘kinkier’ than in the previous story but only slightly (Dimitri liked to tie Benny up or spank her, …), it was nothing too heavy. Dimitri was just a bit more dominant in the bedroom and Benny enjoyed it.
It was heart-breaking for Benny to see her younger brother choose for a dangerous lifestyle. No matter what she said, she couldn’t stop it. Luckily for both of them, when things went terribly wrong for Johnny, Dimitri and his Russian friends were there to save him. But by helping him, Dimitri was in danger too. And the street gangs weren’t the only one who were causing trouble for Benny. A real estate developer wanted her bakery and he went very far to get it. Luckily, Dimitri was very good in protecting her.
In this story we not only got to known Benny and Dimitri better but we also learned more about the past of some of the secondary characters. It was wonderful to see so many familiar faces again, Benny and Dimitri had very loyal and supportive friends.
The story was told from both POV’s. It was a bit longer then the first one. Just like the first story, it was well written and I was very happy with the way that all problems were resolved in the end.

Vi parlo del secondo volume della serie Her Russian Protector: libri caratterizzati da un forte lato erotico, ma accompagnati da una storia altrettanto ben articolata e sviluppata. I protagonisti di cui andrete a leggere sono Dimitri, un adone biondo dagli occhi di ghiaccio di origini russe, e Benny una dolcissima ragazza dai tratti latini a cui la vita sta riservando non poche sorprese, nessuna delle quali particolarmente piacevole.
I due si conoscono da ormai ben cinque anni, poiché Dimitri occupa l’appartamento collocato sopra la panetteria di proprietà di Benny. Sono sempre stati l’uno per l’altra solamente amici, anche se, segretamente, entrambi conservano dentro di sé sentimenti molto diversi. A causa di varie minacce improvvisamente apparse sul cammino di Benny, il rapporto tra i due subisce una veloce e brusca variazione. Solitamente questo mi avrebbe fatto un pochino storcere il naso. Sono la tipica lettrice che ama lo slow–burn, la costante tensione di un rapporto che va maturando pian piano, ma in questo particolare caso non ho trovato stonata la velocità con cui il rapporto di Dimitri e Benny evolve. Si conoscono da tanto, si sono scrutati per anni e, quando uno dei due trova finalmente il coraggio di fare quel tuffo nel vuoto e dichiarare i propri sentimenti, tutto procede con il ritmo consono alla loro conoscenza.
Benny e Dimitri sono due protagonisti molto diversi. Benny cerca di trovare sempre il buono nelle persone, spera di salvare il fratello, unico membro della famiglia rimastole, dagli errori che giorno dopo giorno commette e che rischiano di distruggerlo. È una grande lavoratrice che, nonostante la giovane età, si fa carico non solo della sua situazione economica, ma pensa soprattutto al bene di tutte le persone che per anni hanno lavorato per lei e per la sua famiglia. È anche una ragazza molto insicura e che proprio per questo non ha mai sperato di riuscire a catturare l’attenzione dell’unico uomo che ormai riempie i suoi pensieri.
Quando ho incontrato Dimitri per la prima volta ho pensato si trattasse...

DOMINANT RUSSIAN
Benny (Benita) runs the family's bakery, since losing her family the debts have mounted. Benny is struggling to make ends meet. Her brother Johnny is no help, he has joined a street gang, and Benny worries constantly that he will end up in prison. Her only help is Dimitri her sexy Russian tenant who lives above the bakery.
On top of everything else a crooked property developer is wanting to buy the bakery. He's already bought out the rest of the block, but Benny is refusing to sell. When Johnny steals money from the bakery's takings Benny breaks down. But Dimitri is there to comfort her. But things soon get hot. Benny has had the hots for Dimitri forever, but knowing the women that he usually has on his arm she can't believe that he might be interested in her. Dimitri owns his own security company, and has only stayed living above the bakery to be near Benny.
Second in the Russian Protector series is a hot read. It's more erotic than Ivan's story. As Dimitri has a dominant streak. He's been itching to get Benny tied up for ages and that's exactly what he does. He ties Benny to him in more ways than one.
With likeable characters and a good plot, this is a longer story, than the first. Thoroughly enjoyable, I eagerly await the next book.

I really enjoyed the overall storyline of Dimitri and Benny. I loved that they were friends first, both liking the other from afar, yet holding off on their feelings for one another until they just couldn't take it anymore. A little unplanned intervention from problem family members forcing them together didn't hurt. Benny and Dimitri had a great chemistry about them, and their feelings felt authentic. I did have to skim the repetitive sex scenes. Fewer scenes or more variety with the words/phrases used would have helped. Otherwise it was an exciting story and a great romance.
