Cascade, raised by her single Father, finds herself living a completely different life from what she’d imagined. A dangerous love affair goes overboard, causing her to question the reality she knows in exchange for a new world filled with magic, ancient mermaids, deadly sirens and family that she never knew existed. Will she sink or swim while caught in the middle of a venomous power struggle? Will it be too late when she realizes that blood isn’t always thicker than water.
This would have been an amazing retelling of The Little Mermaid with black mermaids but this fell flat. The drama was boring and I didn’t like how she easily trusted someone she just met 😒. The ending was bad & felt rushed.
Thank you so much for proving that brown mermaids can be real. I was once told that it wouldn't work, well it worked! I'm ready for the next book. I need more details about why Qwen gave up Cat? I need to know how merbabies are born? There's no way humans are just gonna let what happened slide, so what kind of trouble is that about to bring? And Pops needs a tail, why are they holding out on him?
Beautiful story!! Soooo many unexpected events happened in Cascade’s life I for sure thought she would go off the deep end lol. Glad everything worked out for her the way it did, I only wish Cross didn’t have to endure so much pain. However it worked out for the best, thanks for sharing!
there were so many elements I didn't know I needed here
This was such a great exciting read. I think I've become addicted to black mermaid fiction. Action, family rifts, ecology, betrayal, state of emergency, forbidden love. There's so much going on, but I read this so fast. So good.
This book was good but not what I was expecting. I thought she(main character) was going to find love underwater with a merman, but no I was wrong lol. It was different but i definitely enjoyed the story.
This book was very entertaining but I wish there were more explanations on to why Qwen banished her daughter the water, and why Qwen was so a-shame of her siren side was her mom was a full blooded siren.
Sirens and mermaids of all shades of brown mixed in with drama deep on the depths of the ocean! This was a second read by this new to me author and she did not disappoint. Cascade finds out who she truly is once she hits the ocean. The amount of mystical behavior within this book was insane. I loved every bit of it. Kingpin dons, messy siren aunties and war.
