Nimra Ahmed Khan is a writer. Nemrah ahmed (also known as nimra ahmed or nemrah niazi) is a young pakistani novelist۔ She is the CEO of "Zanjabeel". Her first novel was published in Khwateen Digest.
Nice novel with different theme. It's a kind of itinerary, based on upper side of Pakistan and mountains of Rakaposhi, Karakoram.
The thing I liked most about it, the mountaineering. The whole plot was really good but it's some downside, too. Like, some parts were too long and the love story was UNREAL at all. Well, it was admirable to read about Ufuk Arsalan, his climbing and deep detailed knowledge of every scene. However, it's saddened to know that real Ufuk Arsalan has been died. Nimra just cheered her readers at the end of the story by kept his alive. The survivor was kenan cenek not Ufuk in Muzaffard,2005.
The story of turkish girl was really inspiring.
It is doubtless to say that, this book has power of evoking interest about the beautiful mountains of Pakistan and climbing world. And it really geared me up to visit once for mountaineering and climbing :D
I didn't get, if Nimra Ahmed has some rishtedaar in Turkey, koi na koi connection zaroor hota hai turkey ka :D
Reread it finally. I was for a long time craving to feel this nostalgia.
The last time I read this book, was in my early days of reading and I was very immature at that time. I remember I loved it but today I've mixed feelings. I love the whole novel but I was very unimpressed by the love story. It was childish and immature.
The starting part of the book is a little low but in middle (when Rakaposhi's climb started) the story took its pace and height. Overall that climbing part was full of information and adventurous. I felt like I was climbing that beautiful mountain “Dumani aka Rakaposhi” with Ufuq And Pareeshay.
The events in the last part of the book were a little unexpected but they make the plot more persuasive. All around a decent and different read.
Many times I felt I'm not reading Nemrah Ahmed(Namal and Haalim wali Nemrah). Her writing has been changed a lot in her recent works.
This is my favorite line❤
NEVER, ONCE A CLIMBER ALWAYS A CLIMBER💕 Once you've got wanderlust in your blood, you've got it for life.
more specifically, my rating is a 3.5/5 and yes i FINALLY finished it 😂 took me ages but i got there, didn't give up on this one when i started reading this novel and i was in the very initial stages, the first third of the book you could say, i had many thoughts and criticisms, i didn't necessarily agree with the protagonist most times and had a strong love/hate relationship with Dr. Pareeshay Jahanzeb 😂 but now that i am through with this story, what i want to say is it made me feel so many emotions that i didn't think were capable of being felt with just 320 pages Nimrah Ahmed is no doubt an amazing writer and i want to commend her on the research she puts into her writing, the way she described the gorgeous North of Pakistan, the cities and the lakes, Rakaposhi in all it's glory; it was fantastic to read, moreover she gave such an in depth to mountain climbing! i loved to see our writers writing about something like mountain climbing and excelling at it because it is, no doubt, a hard topic to do justice to and i loved that there wasn't the usual dramafest with in-laws and gossiping relatives which has taken over a portion of our lives i loved the portrayal of Ufaq Arsalan, though of course he was the overly handsome, can't-do-anything-wrong type but i loved his playful personality and his love for mountains and as much as i didn't like Pareeshay at first, her character development made that change some parts of the novel, i wish were more in depth or more explaining, because some things would just HAPPEN out of the blue and you'd wonder okay what's the backstory? so i guess i felt like bits and pieces were missing and God, Ufaq had such a death wish throughout the entire novel it's insane! 😂 like how many life altering events can one person go through? and one thing's for sure, Nimrah definitely knows how to spin a story around and make you do a 360 and wonder oh my god WHAT?! loved that Anyways, all in all, being someone who loves mountains, who loves to travel and who wishes to visit every corner of the North and explore it's beauty, i loved it, i loved being transported to the places i want to see and i loved Nimrah's description of all of it to everyone considering reading this novel, please do. it's as simple as that. i think it's worth the read and if you're sick of certain genres in our urdu novels or need a change, this novel is definitely like a breath of fresh air, with all it's beauty and tragedy alike.
it is okay to read this novel when you are in search of some love-story just to relax your mind. nothing special. no main/special idea. novel filled with dramatic changes in the lives of hero and heroine. this is more towards fantasy that creates a dream world for the teeagers. this DOES NOT happen in the life of normal people :D however, it was a good time-pass. couldn't help reading till the end in one go! some dialogues and phrases are too emotional that made my cry! :') good effort!
I was about to give it an 8/10 rating because there's 2/3rd love story and 1/3rd climbing, but the ending "کوہپیمائی بھی کوئی چھوڑنے والی چیز ہے آخر؟" Makes it a 10/10. The craze makes it a 10. The determination after losing EVERYTHING makes it a 10.
Lessons to take from it:
1. CLIMBING IS NOT EVERYONE'S CUP OF TEA. Azeem hoty hain log, beyhad Azeem, dalair aur junooni jo paharon pr apni qabar ka manzar dekh kr jaty hain. Jinhain dafan hony k liye zameen nahi milti. Han unka wajood sadiyon k liye safaid saffak baraf k kambal taly dab jata hai. Shayed yehi inki zindagi ka maqsad hota hai, to live for centuries ♥️
2. Love at First Sight. Contrary to popular belief people CAN fall in love at first sight. And "Love" is different than attraction or infatuation. You just have to be "ready" to receive and be open to that click. Your soul knows when it meets its soulmate
3. Another contradiction to the popular beliefs: Our souls ARE CONNECTED and when something happens to someone close to us, we DO get the signals. It's like our souls communicating, seems hard to digest I know, sounds superstitious. We tend to easily believe in a communication that we humans made through satellite, cell phones. But doubt the communication that the source of competence itself, God, made. How thought provoking is that?
4. Another Taboo we need to break. Keeping the romance out. You can not keep a part of life out that was naturally created as a crucial instinct. You cannot dismiss your thoughts or feelings or anyone else's just because it shouldn't be "discussed openly". You cannot leave the romance out and you shouldn't judge a book because it has more of it than you were ready for. ***I shouldn't 🐤
My Gain: I'M GOING FOR TREKKING FOR SURE! 2023 IT IS, if I live that long that is! 😌
Umm... Umm! I don't know how to comment on this book. The story, the characters, everything was so cliche to the point it annoyed me. I can't believe it's the same author who has written phenomenal books like Jannat Ke Pattay and Namal, but I guess that's understandable since this book was written by Nemrah Ahmed in the beginning of her writing career. The only good thing about this book was her writing style, which, as always, was equipped with such art and perfection it made me want to read more, despite the fact that the story did not interest me one bit. Another mentionable thing about this book is the setting. I have never read anything that describes the mountains and its adventures with so much detail and beauty. I have to say that at one point, even I wanted to become a mountain climber, although this desire quickly waned as the story progressed.
Recommended if you wanna read something light, though it's not like Nemrah's work, not as promising as her other books, but good for a time read.
3.75/5 I won't believe it if you say you didn't want to explore this range even after the way the Karakoram Mountainous Range was described in the book. Like, WOAH, you know what? Sometimes words can change your dreams, perspectives, fates, and lives.
And the cute love-at-first-sight romance we have between our leads. The mountain climber trope was NEW for me
For a seismophobiac reading this book on 8th october, even though its been 13 years, was a mistake... i first read it almost a decade ago... it was good then... its still a good story now but melodramatic and not to mention exaggerated enough to make you cringe at every single page.... its a different narration though compared to the regular a dime a dozen digest-ic narrations... nemrah ahmed could write even in her wee years....
Back when I read it, it wasn't bad. Don't get me wrong it is completely fantastic, very exaggerated and almost unbelievable but somehow it makes for an okay read, some parts are written well.
The plot, the imagery, the characters, the cool witty dialogue delivery between them, and the correct sequence of true events that set foundations of this novel, everything collectively makes this book an excellent piece of fiction.
This book feels refreshing like the morning breeze, soothing like moorland grasses, unpredictable like the deepest oceans, and cruel and cold like the Himalayas but majestic, alluring, magnificent, and ethereal nonetheless!!
The beauty of this book is in the artistic manner in which the writer has romanticized Nature and its wonders. And the result of her extensive research on mountaineering and adventure is vividly shown between the pages.
It's so rare to find such stories in contemporary Urdu, and I'm just so much happy to have read something this impressive. Truly, this one is 10/10 and I Loved, loved loved it!
Finally, another novel, another breath-taking adventure ends. A beautifully written masterpiece by Nemrah Ahmed, making me fall in love with the mountains of Rakaposhi (world’s 27th highest), The Karakoram. Honestly, I've read nothing that describes the mountains and its adventures with so much detail and beauty. I have to say that at one point, even I wanted to become a mountaineer! -Ufuq
I wish Parishay, the female lead, had a personality. She was a doctor but was terrible at emergency medical situations. She was an experienced mountaineer but went on a climbing spree unprepared. She was 25 but acted out like she was 16. She was engaged but flirted all the way with a foreigner. "Woh apni kashtiyaan jala ker wapis jana chahti thi" was in fact her "trip to Goa", if you know what I mean. No class!
It was a good travelogue with a love story forcefully added to form it into a novel.
I never thought I would be rating a Nemrah Ahmed book 2 stars.
I think after reading Nemrah Ahmed's recent releases anyone else would feel the same.
The only reason this book got 2 stars is for the immense information about mountain trekking. The research was done well. Being a complete illiterate about trekking and trekkers (is there some other word for them?) I think this book definitely enhanced my knowledge on the matter.
Now coming to the characters. Parishay was immature and her character had zero personality. She annoyed me so much!
As for Ufaq (excuse my spelling), the only thing likeable about him was him being Turkish and there's no accomplishment for him in that. He had such an inconsistent personality.
The side characters were literally side characters. No one had any say in Parishay's life other than the 'big' decision.
Despite everything, I did want them to end up together. And cliches aside, my romantic soul was satisfied. But he ending line? It was infuriating.
I don't mind cliche writing, they're important it they were written in the same pattern that every other Urdu book has so it wasn't fun to read.
I can see how Nemrah Ahmed's work and writing has developed over the years. I'm so happy that she has evolved into being one of Pakistan's best writers.
It’s baffling to me that people have rated this book so high.
One of the worst books I have ever read, hands down.
The fmc was so annoying and childish that no one could convince me she was a 25 y/o and a doctor. She acted like a 14 y/o most of the time. There was no chemistry whatsoever between the couple. I liked Ufaq’s character in the first half, even tho it was very inconsistent at times, but after that slap, I was so disgusted by him that I had to force myself to finish the book.
I am astonished that no one has ever mentioned the slap. Y’all are freaking shipping this couple and drooling over Ufaq but have never mentioned how he slapped the fmc. Their relationship was so toxic and NA justifying it by making Parishé slap him back was somehow worse.
I cannot emphasize enough how there was no need to drag the ending so much. It could’ve easily ended in Muzaffarabad but the author decided to drag it more and more and add unnecessary tragedy and drama which just stretched the book and story for no reason.
Honestly speaking, I am really disappointed in NA. I never thought that I would read an mmc slapping the fmc in her books, but here we are.
Great book highly recommended. I like the writing style of Nimrah and how she creates twists in her stories it's awesome. Karakoram ka taj Mahal is the type of book that I would never really wish to read again because it contains some heartbreaking scenes. overall the story is good and optimistic.
it is the story of mountain climbers who follow their dreams and no matter what they always go for their passions even though their working fields are different than their dreams but still they pursue their dreams and create a balance between both of them.

Its like a fairy tale where the prince comes to seel his fairy who has been waiting for her whole life! THE CROWN PALACE OF KARAKORAM
I have read the best books by nimrah Ahmed like jannat kei pattay, halim, mushaf and others but this book... Oh my God! An amazing book that made me fall in love with the mountains despite the calamities. Also a beautiful love story in it's purest form without any vulgarity. This book had me crying over the last 16 pages.although it's a small book but was totally a rollercoaster of emotions, that will make u laugh and cry at the same time. In the start the book was kinda boring but it had me addicted to it afterwards just can't put it down. The importance of taking decisions at the right the time, The beauty of mountains, The importance of fulfilling your dreams. This book will make you believe in soulmates. Trust me nimra Ahmed will never disappoint you just go for it. ❤️
This book is one of my top favourites. Ik, some of y’all might not agree. But, I think, this is one of nemrah’s best work. She could’ve really explored more in this genre.🙃 Everything about this novel was too good. I have always been a fan of the northern places. And the way she described it all. 🥹 and pari and ufaq’s love story was too good. Back then, i didn’t like the ending. But even it makes sense now. This was a beautiful book.
