The Art of Ice Climbing pays a really great homage to the sport from its early roots to modern day. It’s visually pleasing and is guaranteed to spark immense joy for any ice climbers and alpinists! It is also definitely understated - much like ice climbing itself. I picked this up at a local mountaineering book and rental store in Ouray, Colorado during my first season ice climbing with a group, and it’s now a tradition to dust it off and scrimmage through the contents to feel inspired for the next ice climbing season.
While it’s not a detailed manual meant for keeping with you at all times in the field, it’s a great defacto hype man!
