Sammi Cee was raised in a family of readers. Summer vacations consisted of a good book while sitting lakeside from as far back as she could remember. After growing up and having her own children, her appreciation of how the written word could transport you on an adventure, bring you to tears, or give you hope, took on a whole new meaning.
These days Sammi is watching her children develop into fine young ladies while doing the things she enjoys most: drinking coffee, eating chocolate, and writing her own stories.
Did I read any of the other books in this series? No I didn’t and it turned out to be just fine.
Like expected this was a pretty sweet and kinda easygoing read. Yes, there was mentioning of domestic abuse and trauma, but the story was focused on the healing part of it which is why this book was not too heavy. The characters were sweet and easy to like but not necessarily the most spectacular ones out there. And the plot was okay. Overall a nice book for sure.
Absolutely sweet and adorable. Chip was just the sweetest. He really deserved all the best with Ollie after what he endured with Harry. Ollie was an unexpected Daddy for him, but they paired together so well.
I loved that Ollie let Chip have time to heal mentally before really pursuing anything with him. But he never stopped taking care of Chip and making sure his needs were met. This was the sweetest couple I’ve read in a while.
Nigel is worried about his friend Chip. He hasn't talked to him in days. He gets his Daddy and Ollie to go with him to see what's wrong. Good thing they rode to the rescue!!
So glad Ollie finally got his turn at an HEA! Chip & Ollie's story is such a good one. Sammi Cee has knocked it out of the ballpark again! Totally recommend.
4,5 stars Chip's Forever Daddy is the second book in the Love on Tap: Pain & Healing series by Sammi Cee. This is the story of Chip and Ollie. I loved their story. It was sweet, full of feels and very well written. Chip was so adorable.
This could have been really good if it was more developed. Everything was done so fast, the romance was so sudden--there was barely any pining or longing, and considering what happened to Chip, there needed pinging and longing from both--but him especially. He just got out of an abusive relationship, lets SHOW (and not simply tell the reader) that he's ready for a new relationship.
I'm not a huge daddy/boy (or girl) person, but at times it works. This...I feel like the book would have been SOOO much better if it was simply about love and kink had nothing to do with it. I felt like the daddy aspect was a bit awkward and clumsily done. I don't think it was done poorly, but I don't feel like it added anything to the plot, characters, or tension within the book.
This is the first book I read in the series, and it's expected that you've read the ones prior. SOOOO many characters with no real description of them, and I was getting them all mixed up. Also, the dialogue was written in a way that I often had NO idea who was talking. And then there were times when I thought Ollie was talking...but really it was Omar, and I had no clue Omar was even in the scene. So...not sure if that was a typo or me being stupid (seriously a 50/50 on either).
I did love how friendship is presented and shown in this book. It's a great example of friends turning into family, and also just what a good friendship is about. That part of the book I will say is beautiful. Nigel is a wonderful friend, we all need a Nigel in our lives.
I read this in one sitting, so it def captured my attention. I just was aware throughout it that it could be better. I feel like I was supposed to feel a LOT of angst, Chip went through an awful ordeal...but I didn't feel much of anything after the first chapter. The sex scenes were abrupt--there was no sexual tension then suddenly a sex scene, it made it a bit awkward not hot or necissary, even. Toward the middle of the book I was wondering if this was possibly my first mm sweet romance. Lots of ways where this could have been better---and all could have been done by a few more revisions.
**a great deal of sensitivity was handled with the subject of abuse, I give the author kudos for that**
Yes for finally getting a story for Ollie! He's been on the sidelines forever as the doorman/security at The Tap but now gets his own HEA with Chip, Nigel's best friend. A young man in need of desperate rescuing and Ollie is first to volunteer to go along with Nigel and Omar. He has very strong feelings about abuse and is determined to ensure Chip's safety. **Content warning for off page physical and mental abuse, MC left with bruising and locked in the home** They end up with a mix of roommates/forced proximity vibe but with time taken for Chip to recover and move forward, Ollie also has time to come to terms with his need to protect Chip but also his attraction to the young man and what that means in regards to the type of relationship they would have considering Ollie hasn't had even one relationship before. Luckily, they are surrounded by the most loving and supportive group of daddys and boys, and possibly the nosiest. It makes for a fun, erratic and caring environment that Chip is in desperate need of. He also gets to meet Ollie's mum who is a fantastic woman and raised a truly remarkable man. There is a darker start to this story but it's quite low angst throughout and a wonderful slow burn romance. Of course, we get quite a lot of interaction with the guys from The Tap which is always entertaining and I'm equally excited and sad for the final book of this series. I received an ARC and am happily giving a review.
Chip only ever wanted a man to see him, truly hear him and love him - a perfect Daddy. Instead, he has only had bad luck in the Daddy department. Ollie is protective and has the muscle to back it up. When they find Chip isolated and abused, keeping the younger man safe becomes his main reason in life. As Chip’s body and mind heal, he’s surrounded by new friends, who treat him better than his family ever did, and the older man whose gentle ways and tender care make him feel cherished and wanted. When Ollie channels his all into being the perfect Daddy for this sweet boy, can Chip be brave enough to hope one last time?
I loved this story where Chip was badly abused and a protective Ollie used every Daddy skill he had observed and learnt from those he protected as part of his work to guard him and make him feel special. I loved the role that Ollie's Mum played in the care of Chip and his therapy. This was a story to pull at your heartstrings as you felt invested in Chip and his care. Easy to read, feel and understand. This is an MM story containing mature content and a BSDM-like DDLB dynamic.
The gentle giant of a body guard at The Tap finally gets his story!!
Ollie has been a side character in all of the stories so far, always showing up to support the boys working at The Tap and ensure their safety, while making me laugh with his funny little comments throughout the series. Little did I know that he had a bit of a dark past, which caused him to put up walls around himself to protect others — until a cute little guy we’ve met before, in Nigel and Omar’s story, suddenly needs help and Ollie becomes his safe space.
Chip was such a cutie when I first met him in Wanted: Doting Daddy, and I really hoped we’d meet him again. I wasn’t prepared for that next meeting to be so sad though!! He’s had a rough go of it these last couple of years while the other characters have had their books, and it brought a lot of emotion to this story. I adored that Ollie meeting Chip for the first time immediately brought out his defensive instinct and how Chip just knew that Ollie was safe, before he even knew about Ollie’s past.
Shoutout to Ollie’s mom for being the most amazingly strong, kind and fierce side character in this novel — she’s definitely a new favourite of mine!! 💖
Chip and Ollie were the sweetest, cutest couple!!!
I adored this. Sammi has such an amazing way of writing books that deal with difficult subjects but still feel like a warm hug when you’re reading them. Poor Chip had been through so much but I’m glad that after all that he went through he also was able to see that he had people who genuinely loved him. Watching Ollie around Chip was both hilarious and adorable. It was funny to see the guy who had been so calm and collected and provide so much sage advice to his friends kind of become a bit of a nervous mess. I loved thought that the nervousness was from a place of wanting to make sure Chip felt safe and not taken advantage of or pressured. Protective in an aggressive way can work, but it’s also really good to see protective in a sweet, caring and gentle way and see how healthy that can be for everyone involved. I also love the little teaser we got for the next book (or at least I think maybe it’s a teaser, who knows lol) and I can’t wait too see what’s going on with Luca!
- an MM romance! daddy k!nk, instalove, age gap, roommates to lovers, forced proximity, - haha those first couple of pages made me feel visibly ill - so glad Ollie’s got a book, love that for him - who names their child Chip.. i just wanna talk - Chip getting all the love he deserves through his new and old friends is everything - the bond between Chip and Miriam is so precious - this time I’m very glad they didn’t get together until 70% in because Chip 100% needed to heal - Ollie is such a sweet heart to Chip i can’t cope - okay secretly rich?? i love that - absolutely love the nickname that was given to Chip!! - i’m acc glad the horrible human came back as the third act conflict, it meant we got closure on the issue and new he wouldn’t pop up again - when they went to Toby and Samuel’s was everything!! Chip’s character development was amazing - weird that we never got Ollie to say i love you tho ‘seeing it through his eyes’ wasn’t enough for me - i loooooooved this one such a heart breaking narrative turning into something so fluffy and cute was the best
OK...I knew Ollie was great just by getting to know him in the previous books but OMG...I want me an Ollie...everyone needs an Ollie in their life. He was so wonderful in this. A fierce protector and loveable bear of a man to Chip. I always love size difference in these daddy/boy romances and Chip being fun size to big ol Ollie was just to adorable and entertaining. Every scene where Ollie carries Chip just had me grinning...too cute! Now to the sad part of this book...abuse is horrible but it's always great to have a solid support system and thank fudge Chip had that in spades. Eventhough this book had some disturbing abuse scenes...too many feel good and happy parts outshined the pain. Chip and Ollie was a good match and I can't wait to read more in this series.
I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.
This was a super sweet story. Ollie has spent his life protecting his family and friends, including all the boys at The Tavern. I loved how he jumped in to help Omar and Nigel rescue Chip and how careful he was to not scare Chip and give him a safe place. I loved Ollie's mother; she's amazing. I liked revisiting the Love on Tap characters and seeing them welcoming Chip into their group. I loved their conversations with Ollie.
I was glad that Chip felt safe with Ollie, even if he wasn't sure about Ollie for a while. I liked that Ollie found that he could have a life outside being a bouncer and that he could be in a relationship. I'm glad that they had time to get to know each other and both come to grips with their pasts before moving forward with a relationship of their own. I was glad hat Ollie was always honest and made sure that Chip was comfortable. It was wonderful seeing them find happiness together. I can't wait for the next book in the series.
When Nigel’s friend doesn’t pick up his phone still after 5 days is Daddy along with a friend and Nigel go in search of Chip. When Chip opens the door to see Nigel there and one look from the three standing in front of the door he knows there’s no way he’s not going with them. Ollie sees this beautiful boy and is instantly angry when he sees bruises on the young man’s face. Ollie is a protector and he’s already decided that Chip is his and he will protect him forever. Together Chip and Ollie learn to cope and deal with the abuse that Chip went through because of his former Daddy. Read this amazing book and learn what happens to Chip’s abuser as well as his relationship with Ollie. 5 stars ⭐️💜
This book stole my heart, I’ve loved watching all the tap boys find their perfect daddies and fall in love but this one took the cake for me. Ollie watched over all the boys until they found their daddies then continued to watch over his friends and loved ones, he was the protector of them all. Ollie finding the perfect boy for him and getting that once in a lifetime kind of love that he's watched all his friends find was absolutely breathtaking and watching them all come together once again to support someone in need was beautiful. Sammi has created the most beautiful family within her Takoda universe and it’s just going to keep getting bigger, I can’t wait. ❤️😀
Chip survived an abusive relationship to find his forever daddy, Ollie. Ollie has never been in a relationship (what?) or been a Daddy. I really love these characters but I feel very similar to the last book in that the relationship feels like it’s on fast forward and there is little depth. I actually love these two and feel like Chip probably needed a little more time before starting a new relationship. However, I adore the nickname Ollie came up with (Chocolate Chip) and how we got to see everyone again. I’m curious about Luca (and maybe Harrison?).
Chip’s one desire was to find the perfect Daddy but life left him hurt and in need of healing. Ollie was the man who took care of him and his patience and care brings out the Daddy in Ollie which became the perfect compliment to what Chip needed in time.
A lovely read about healing and love with fantastic supporting characters and good backstory on the characters to keep you engrossed in this tale. There is humour, emotion and a well deserved HEA. With teasers of what’s to come next, I’m eager for more of this series.
I love this series and this one features Ollie and Chip. Ollie is the bouncer at The Tap and is well known to protect the staff and everyone he cares for. When Nigel said he hasn’t heard from his friend Chip in a while, they set out to get him. When Ollie sees the condition he is in, he helps get him out of a bad situation. He gets Omar and Nigel to stay at his place so Chip can feel safe. Ollie lets Chip take it slow and helps him to heal, especially when his mother was introduced as well. Love the world building and the pace it took for them to get together. Cannot wait till the next book.
Omg so so good I have been dieing to read Chips story since he was first introduced. I certainly wasn't expecting him to end up with Ollie but I can't think of a better daddy for him. I have been wishing all the books were longer but I must admit this is the first time I was wishing the book was shorter just because I wanted them to hurry and be together but everything worked out and this was an amazing book. I couldn't be more happy with it. I would definitely recommend.
I don't know... it was just a tad too fluffy... especially for such a heavy subject. Domestic violence and abuse is a lot to take on, especially in such a short story. This was book 3 of a series, and though it worked fine as a stand-alone, there were what felt like 600 characters thrown into the mix, that I couldn't keep track of, and to be honest, really didn't care about, and they took up way too much of the story.
We never saw Ollie and Chip together in a way that made me believe in a happily ever after for them. We saw the budding start of a friendship, nothing more....
I have been so excited for Ollie to receive his HEA and it did not disappoint! I loved sweet Chip and his relationship with Ollie all the boys and Ollie’s mom. Speaking of! Ollie’s Mom!! What a doll! I adored her!! I feel like Sammi Cee always does such a great job depicting life after abuse and how it’s different for everyone and people go at different speeds. I look forward to seeing what’s up between Luca and Harrison!
Ollie and chip are amazing and adorable! After a nearly year long reading block, I'm so glad this book grabbed my attention!
I will say this is obviously part of a series, but the first book I've read of it. However Sammi introduces all the characters amazingly. Definitely going to the start and read it properly. Definitely worthwhile, i can't wait for Lukas book!!
“By rescuing him, he’d rescued me in every way I never knew I needed.” Ollie and Chip are sweet as marshmallows sprinkled with chocolate chips! I adore them and their heartfelt HEA. I’ve been hoping for Ollie since we met him, and no one deserves his love more than sweet, shy Chip. And the way this amazing family grabbed hold and cherished him is what makes Takoda and the people who call it home so special.
Omg I love Sammi's books! This is another great addition. Chip is so cute. His daddy hot! Great story of try try again. Yall need to read love on tap 1 series love on tap 2 series and the out reach series. Every character has a hea after struggles. She is the best for keeping the storyline going with new characters. It's like meeting old friends Again. I love these types of series.
This was a great book! I am so happy that Ollie finally got his own book. I loved Chip and Ollie together. These two are perfect and I loved the way Ollie is with Chip. Chip has been through so much already but his daddy will be there for him for now one. I really enjoyed this book and I can’t wait to see what Sammi has in store for us next.
I received a free e-book copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
I really enjoyed Chip and Ollie. I have to say I have a love for the name Ollie as that name seems to belong to some favorite characters in books, Sammi Cee's included.
This was a great and easy to read story. It is important to go in knowing there is abuse occurring in the book if that is a trigger. But the story was handled well and pulled me in further. It was not angsty which was perfect for me.
This one had just the right amount of angst, cuteness, and communication. Despite the length of the book, we got a nice meet-cute under terrible circumstances, some trust-building, cute dates, boys causing mischief, and a nice ending. I was actually glad to see conflict at the end pop up; unlike in the last book, where I kept waiting for Cameron's ex to rear her ugly head. Good for Chip and Ollie! This might have been one of my favorites so far.
These two are just so dang sweet you can't help but smile. Ollie has been the protector of the boys for years yet never was drawn into the lifestyle until Chip. From the moment they meet, they are drawn together yet move a pace for Chip to heal and move forward. They take it slow but in a way that is comforting and allows these men to become comfortable with the other to move forward. It's just another great story from this series.
4 stars. Well, this was absolutely precious. Chip deserved all of the hugs and nothing but happiness and Ollie wanted to do all of that for him. They were so cute together and the nickname ‘Chocolate Chip’ PLEASE. So fucking cute I cannot. I also liked the side characters and since this is part of a series I definitely wanna go back and read the other books because this was wonderful.
