Hurt, despondent, and dumped by her boyfriend, Lara Middleton sets out into the night in search of a distraction; what she finds is the gorgeously attractive, curiously enigmatic Leon St. Ledger, watching her intently from afar. Pulled together by an almost paranormal magnetism, and fuelled by alcohol and bitterness, Lara finds the prospect of heading home with him irresistible, but as she soon finds, Leon is far from a regular one-night stand! Ravaged by a desperate hunger, he bites her in a fit of passion; can the few remaining strands of the vampire's humanity regain control, and save his naive companion's life?

Well this was short and not so sweet. It's a good start to the series. there were some hot scenes. Not too much story but with the amount of pages you wont get a full story line. the sex was good but there was a lot for such a short story.

Vampires! I love them, BUT I should have paid heed to the “Part One” in the title and I wouldn’t have been so grrrrrrrrrrrrr at the end. Anyway it was a well written story. You can tell the focus is on Lara. Full Character Development was on her. I am interested to see if Spector’s next “Part” focuses solely on another character. It makes for an interesting concept.
Anyway, Lara is your average girl in her early twenties, who works full time at a barista. With the weekend off she is totally excited and can’t wait to get home to start getting ready for her hot date with her boyfriend of 6 months. Sigh… Life is Good. Right??
Until she turns on her cell phone. That creep is breaking up with her via text message. Lara being very level headed gets home before she zaps out. AND when she does Lara decides to go out anyway and see what she can bring home. As she gets ready she takes very special care of her body, more than her normal shaving. Well, you will get the picture when you read the book.
Her careful grooming, self-confidence and natural beauty of course attracts the attention of you guessed it a VAMPIRE!!!
And that’s all I am going to tell you. Lol… it’s a novella if I tell you more I will be giving you an abbreviated version of the whole thing. I would still tell you to read it. It was well written BUT I expected more Paranormal. I guess that’s in Part 2. I see she has all the parts in a set. When my review list dies down, I am coming back to find out about our Lara. She had a wonderful night with her vampire but… *sigh* you will have to read this novella and the rest to find out what happens to our beauty.
I liked it; I would have loved it more if it didn’t end where it did. Let me read the rest before I tip my baseball hat to ya. AND I WILL BE READING THE REST!!!

Weird storyline. I don’t know. I was not impressed. It just feels like she was taken advantage of but was somehow consensual. Could have been better somehow.
I did not like this short story at all. It was straight to the point and full of sex which was okay however it got boring and I couldn't help to roll my eyes over the sex scenes, I hated his name as well as his character. It really didn't give you any insight about him at all. I wouldn't recommend this book unless you are just needing a little extra help in your intimate alone time. I no there are several other parts to this book but I'm not interested in reading them at all. however to each their own kind of book what seems dry to me may be good to someone else. I'm giving it two stars because it had the potential but lost me towards the end.
This is very hard to write my feelings. Lara is hurt and trying to lose control after Alex breaks up with her through a text. Which I thought was appalling and cowardly. She goes to her regular club to drink and find a one night stand. However it ends up being a complicated mess due to her vampire companion.
I thought it was a little unbelievable because a woman being lucid after that much drinking would consent to trusting a stranger is out there. I mean I just don't see it. So overall there needs to be a better beginning because it is to uncommon to keep my interest in this series.
I started reading this and started to get bored with it. the beginning wasn't the greatest but I kept on reading it because I don't just stop reading because the beginning doesn't grab me. I'm glad I did. the way this book was written was very easy to follow along. I did have to look up some words but still understood this book very well. now I just wonder if he be able to help her or if she is in for it
Lara just got dumped via text message! Instead of staying in a crying her eyes out, she opted for a night of dancing, drinking and flirting! But that is not all that Lara does, she ends up in the bed of a dark, sexy, well spoken, totally hot character! And he has a lot of things he wants to do for her, including spanking that...well you know! Absolutely, a great short read that will have you wanting more!
This was pretty meh for me. I rarely like them this short so that takes away, and somehow the characters just didn't draw me in. Plus the back and forth viewpoints started to bug me although I don't generally hate that it just seemed too quickly back and forth?!?! Just didn't feel right. And for me this felt a little choppy in the writing not smooth transitioning.
Light bdsm, first person from 2 viewpoints - which caught me off guard when I got to the second viewpoint. Story was decent, but not compelling enough (for me) to get the second. I can, however, see where this would appeal to those who like a slightly different take on vampires with light kink thrown into the mix.
I read this book in one night. It held my attention, and I didn't find it to be to bad of a read. It was very sexual throughout the whole book, but I enjoyed the book from beginning to end.
