The first book in the CotN chapter book series is rather tame compared to the rest; this is a more cozy and humorous tale rather than the fantastical and suspenseful nature of the other entries. While I would peg it as my least favorite of these for that reason, I still enjoyed it. Any time spent with the Critter family at Old Howl Hall is time well spent.

Pure nostalgia for me. I read these books as a kid and had to reminisce.
