Laury Falter is a bestselling author of young adult romantic suspense and urban fantasy. She conjures worlds in which love is born and tested against seemingly insurmountable events.
She has three series out: the Guardian Saga, the Residue Series, and the Apocalypse Chronicles.
Love love love FREAKING LOVED this book!!! I liked the first one...this one was great. I loved the characters and all their personalities. I love Maggie...she annoys the hell out of me some times but she's more awesome than some female MCs I've come across. Eran, as always was great. Definite book boyfriend status there. mmmmhmmmmm!on to the next one!!! Yay!!!
I am completely addicted to this series. I really enjoyed Fallen, the first book in the Guardian Trilogy, but Eternity totally blew me away. I knew I would like it since I was a fan of the first, but nothing could have prepared me for just how much I would fall in love with not only the characters, but the whole world that Ms.Falter has created.
Eternity picks up where Fallen left us with Eran and Maggie trying to stay one step ahead of the Fallen Ones who want to destroy Maggie. This proves to be harder than they thoughts when several Fallen Ones start enrolling in her school. When a warning comes from one of their enemies, Eran starts traveling at night to gain some knowledge as to who is leading the army and what they will face. This leaves Maggie open to uncovering her other lives and that is where the story really took off for me. We get to see how Eran and Maggie met, how they fought together, and in the end how they fell in love. It was beautiful and one of the most romantic things I have ever read. I loved loved loved that the story took us into the past and let us see the big events in Maggie's lives. Honestly I would read a book from each of her lives if I could, the chapters that contained the past were that good and totally captivated me. The story in Eternity is not just past filler, we learn quite a bit about other characters that totally surprised me and we get to see Maggie live up to her badarse past lives. I really appreciated that the author took the time to continue the storyline while giving us a ton of background information. I understand more about why Maggie is in danger and about the Fallen Ones. Just brilliant!
I love Eran and Maggie. They are quickly becoming my favorite couple of all time and seeing how they fell in love was amazing. Their love truly does stand the test of time. Felix, Ezra, & Rufus were awesome just like in the first book and I loved their loyalty to Maggie and her fight. I am still unsure of The Warden and Bridget, I think they will have a bigger role in the next book because I can't see them just being secondary characters. I could be wrong but there is just something sinister about them both that I think will come out eventually. I loved Bronte! I was skeptical at first but let me tell you that woman was awesome!
If you haven't picked up Fallen yet you are seriously missing out. I can't say enough how much I am in love with this world and I cannot wait to get my hands on the next book Reckoning. I have a feeling it will be EPIC!
I’m not really into the angels books. I haven’t had much luck at all. Each book I have read about Angels I didn’t love and so I didn’t finish the series. My luck has turned, I found Fallen (the first book in this series). Now, I didn’t love it cause so much went unanswered, but I liked it enough to get the next one (this one) Eternity, and boy am I glad I did. I loved it. I loved everything about it. All the answers were there, just waiting for me to find them. Ms Falter has a special way of giving us the answers, by visiting Maggie in her previous lives, learning about Maggie with Maggie.
Maggie is amazing. She is strong minded, stubborn and tough. I was mesmerized reading about her past lives, not only the parts about her and Eran (delightful, mainly) but also the messenger side. I found the history of each of her lives and family and friends fascinating. What an amazing woman Maggie has always been, not mattering what her name was she still kicked butt and leant her strength to others in times of need. I also wondered what I would make my heaven like and the things I would surround myself in.
All the characters were fabulous (Ahhhhh, Eran, what a guy!!!). I enjoyed every page and adored the housemates. Maggie deserves all the love she gets from those around her.
I am going straight on to the next and final book of the trilogy. I am super excited after finishing last night on a bit of a cliffhanger. I am very much looking forward to reading about all the memories Maggie has regained and what she does with them to eliminate the Fallen Ones.
Maggie & Eran Forever & Ever (Literally :D) <3<3<3
I don't know what it was about this one, but it was just ok. I feel like the majority of this review will be spoilers, so beware. However, unless you are absolutely in love with this series and couldn't bare the thought of knowing the outcome before hand, it might be good to have a heads up of what to expect. I'll leave that up to you.
Maggie and Eran just got on my nerves in this one. I HATE when some dumb boy will tell the heroine nothing, constantly keeping her in the dark, all while using the excuse "it's to protect you". Bullshit. The best way to go at a situation is to have all the facts, otherwise there is a good chance you will be blindsided and left with egg on your face. So Maggie was reborn or whatever, and doesn't remember her past lives with Eran as a messenger fighting the Fallen. Eran is NO HELP whatsoever in her quest to figure out who she is. She is supposed to be some bad-ass Queen of all the messengers, and he treats her like a china doll. So she has to go back and find out by reliving her past lives at night on the other side. Those were probably the most enjoyable parts of the whole book.
Maggie, ugh, that broad is so goddamned stubborn, you think she would learn from her mistakes, but no! Never! In the first book, Fallen, she sneaks off and gets herself it trouble, and has to be rescued. Did she learn her lesson? NO! Annnnd then again,
I won't be moving on to the third book in the series. I'm just not interested anymore, and find I'm annoyed more than anything while reading this series. It's ok I guess, but there is definitely better out there if you are considering reading these.
Laury Falter is now one of my favorite authors. Guardian Trilogy gets better and better. This series is just wonderful; filled with love, suspense and action.
Though reading the first part of the book is not necessary I definitely recommend it.
We continue with Maggie trying to live a normal life even though she is the last messenger in existence and the Fallen One's want her dead. Eran has professed his love for her but has made it clear that until all Fallen angels are dead he will not act on his love because he needs to maintain his focus.
Maggie decides to keep herself busy in order to avoid feeling the rejection and hurt. In the process she meets someone who trains her to fight; she becomes strong, very strong and in the meantime realizes she can learn much about her parents and her past from this person. Her instincts started to kick in, even though being a newborn made her forget her past.
Eran has an old friend Campion to watch over Maggie when he goes away in the evening searching for information on a new rumored war. This is where I love Maggie the most because she despises having someone watch over her and she definitely voices her opinion.
The war that takes place, her life in the after life, the consequences of being with your true love and trusting others is what made this book remarkable read.
If you enjoyed Unearthly the Guardian Trilogy should be your next book.
I need to apologize for my review for Fallen, because in hindsight the review was a little harsh, especially since I made a grave mistake. Falter purposefully left things open after Fallen and those things were addressed sufficiently and even more so in Eternity.
I am so happy with Eternity. Everything in this book was just so good.
There was plenty more action and drama. The stories and plots were plenty more developed. Though I will admit Bridgette's role I thought was a little haphazardly done, but I can get over it. I wish there had been more resolve over the Warden and who knows there still might be I have jumped the gun before with my assumptions.
Magdalene certainly blossomed in this novel. By the end I was finally able to see the strong, confident woman she had been known as from her past lives. My issues with her initially arose from her whiny-ness and near selfishness. Yes, she agonized over losing her soul mate and her friends, but they were only doing what they had to do. She frustrated me to no end in Fallen, but halfway through Eternity I acquiesced.
All in all Eternity was one of the best middle books of a trilogy I have read thus far. There was decline in plot, in action or drama, when it ended I could not wait to get a hold of the final book. So I would declare Eternity a success!

This is a decent book. An interesting series. But I can only give it 3 stars for the multiple grammar errors. I don't usually nitpick; but there were enough in this book to annoy me....and they were usually in an important part of the book. I can't even name how many times into was spelled in to. Words misspelled, serious punctuation issues, words being used in the wrong tense. Little mistakes here and there are, of course, natural. It's just frustrating when you're reading a pretty good story line with plenty of imagination, and you're distracted constantly by such simple mistakes. Over and over. So...3 stars. Interesting plot and story line - very poor grammar and editing.
Good stuff. The second book in the series was better than the first. I'm excited to read the third and final book, but I don't quite get how the author will be able to get the story all wrapped up...
I'm just not feeling this series. I struggled with the dialogue, the characters were wooden and I just didn't feel invested. It seems a shame to not read the last book in the trilogy and maybe I'll pick it up again in the future (I'm lying, I probably won't) but I'm not going to finish this trilogy now.
I wasn’t looking for anything complex, I’m enjoying light reads right now but this book isn’t just light. It’s badly written. It reads like someone who has a list of words that they want to use but don’t have accurate understanding of what they mean. The dialogue was bland and the storyline is just boring.
Love! Love! Book 1 was slow but once it got going it was SO good and Book 2 kept the same momentum!!!! I am loving the storyline and the main character is not a damsel in distress and that the good guy loves her !!!
Maybe I've been reading too many YA series lately bc by the time I was finished, I was glad it was over. I started the Guardian Trilogy after having read Angelfall. I really enjoyed that book and this series popped up under recommended books. The reviews weren't bad so I gave it a shot. After reading Fallen I thought it wasn't a bad start to a series. It was by no means a stellar book but I was entertained enough by the story line. The whole Messenger and Guardian concept was new to me and I found it interesting. I liked learning more about the Messengers, their purpose, abilities, Maggie's past lives. But that's kind of where it ends for me. Whereas I had thought Fallen ended sort of abruptly, Eternity seemed to drag on.
This whole book is leading up to this huge, monumental battle that seemed to end after a page or two. The battle is over so quickly it's almost like it never happened! While reading I'm thinking what's being played out is being stretched out into weeks but in all actuality it's days. It's very repetitive with wake-up, eat breakfast, school, Eran leaves, Maggie trains, Maggie sleeps and explores her past lives, then the cycle begins again...and again...and again...and, well you get my point. The most interesting part through all of that was Maggie's past lives. Other than that, kind of a dull read. I guess I could have looked past all that if I didn't develop a dislike for some characters the further along I read. Is it just me or do I feel another Clary Fray type in this book? Maggie didn't bother me in the first book. Yes she's headstrong but, my god, in this book it's just irritating! Just like Clary, Maggie is starting to learn what she really is, her purpose, her past, her abilities (or lack thereof from being reborn) and just like Clary she thinks bc a week has gone by she's a pro and knows better than everyone around her. When a character starts being demanding, making irrational decisions and insists on getting her way at all costs, I'm over it. And the love story....it was awful. Ok, so Maggie and Eran have been "together" for many lifetimes, even having been married at one point. I get it. But come on.... My adult brain can't handle how attached and absolutely devoted these teen love stories develop w/in a matter of days. With that being said, I can forgive all this since it is YA fiction. I guess in the minds of teens, love is the be all and end all for them so I get it. But this one was just so unconvincing and cheesy. It was a little heavy to the point of being ridiculous. I pretty much rolled my eyes every time Maggie and Eran were spewing their absolute devotion to each other. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE a good, sappy love story but this was just too much. I guess the love story and Maggie's character development are what really ruined the book for me. **spoiler** With Maggie leaving in the end of the book with just a note to Eran, I don't get it. He's her Guardian. He's going to go to the ends of the earth to find her and she knows that. She claims she's keeping everyone safe by leaving them behind but they will just find her anyway. All she's doing is leaving herself unprotected. That won't cause any problems at all *cough**cough*. If the next book is just Maggie and hardly any of the other characters, I think I'll pass. The book synopsis doesn't sound that convincing on it's own. Maggie's put herself in even more danger, Eran struggles finding her, and Maggie unwittingly ignites the final battle. Again, irrational decisions lead to everyone else scrambling to put things back together and save our main character. Good job Maggie....
Like I said, maybe I've read too many YA books lately and I just need a timeout. I need to go read a few books geared towards adults to satisfy my need for a convincing love story or characters who are rational and logical in their thinking and actions. I'm sure I'll finish the series at some point and eventually read Reckoning but for now I'll wait. I rarely never finish a series but I'm definitely in no hurry with this one.
As you can tell from my rating, I loved it. I genuinely loved this book. Despite the heartache i experienced, my love will never waver. Much like the love of Eran and Maggie (yes!transition!). In this installment we see -The eternal love of this couple has actually eternal. wut. -How stoopid teenage drama looks when compared to the vast amount of problems that arise when winged beings are hell bent on your destruction-That Eran is a stalker first and foremost; he was one even before he was a guardian -Our dear Maggie makes the worst choices ever -That anyone named Magnus is not entirely reliable -That practically everyone on Earth (and quite a few not) know Maggie personally, she just doesn't know any of them
So apparently Prom is coming up, but if it weren't for the Prom-Queen-to-be (she had a name, I don't remember it) hitting on Eran and then hurting Maggie, we wouldn't know it. Maggie's only concerned with working out and when her man's getting home, which is not a vain as it sounds. Even with impending doom around the corner, we have time to delve into their love which is eternal. There was the looking back at her past lives, their first meeting, the long winded proposal that I didn't really read, the wedding that I didn't really read, the wedding night that I didn't really read . Eran and Maggie are twu wuv, I get it, and yes, I was asking for it reading this book. i am a hopeless romantic; i cannot resist. But every addict has a limit, and I think my teeth were rotting from all the sugary sweetness that is this relationship. And then. See, Maggie is strong independent woman who don't need no man except for when she do. And so she makes decisions that are questionable. Stupid, even. Hey, we all make mistakes. But Maggie makes decisions knowing full well that they are going to create problems. Eran does not infuriate me as much as she simply because it's not his POV. He insists on being the Lone Ranger, going it alone, facing the dangers tout seul, being the hero. Oh, but Maggie shouldn't do that, no, she should stand by her window, waiting for his return. Waving her handkerchief, perhaps. Maggie is also a Lone Ranger. You know what happens when two Lone Rangers fall in love? Haha, no they don't settle down. They constantly put themselves in danger to protect each other, when all they have to do is avail themselves to the numerous assets and resources around them. BUT NO. *SIGH* I really did love this book y'all. I love yelling at characters. I do. But these two have me rolling my eyes a lot.
The plot? Solid. The characters? Round, except the prom queen no one cares about. Setting is, NEW ORLEANS, where I'm going to live one day. I have my eye on a plantation mansion. Read it weep, kids. this one has an ending that will have you after the sequel like
4.5 stars :) Indie gem! While I really enjoyed the first book, Fallen, in the Guardian Trilogy, (I reviewed it here) the second installment was even better. Now where to start? Well, maybe the cover. It’s simple and gorgeous and the symbolism is perfect. I love it! I can’t help feeling extra love towards a book when the cover does it justice. However, it’s not just a pretty little cover with nothing to back it up. Inside, Eternity is a novel that is definitely cranked up a notch and I couldn’t get enough. Fallen had set the scene, but now with Eternity we got even more answers.
Maggie has learned more about who she is as a Messenger and the reason she is hunted. It’s fairly serious and there’s a lot of pressure on Maggie to stay alive. It also explains why her guardian, Eran, is so very protective. His protectiveness really gives us some serious UST. I prefer UST over a love triangle any day, and there was not even a sniff of a love triangle so I was in heaven. This sexual tension also had an epic romance to go along with it, so it was even more frustrating they couldn’t be together, but it was not for a flimsy reason. Eran had very valid explanation why he couldn’t be with Maggie; he loved her and valued her life so much that he truly felt like he had to wait for the right time for them to be together. He had given in before so he knew that he just had to be patient and protect her properly. Argh!
Maggie isn’t alone in this fight. Of course she has her guardian, Eran, but there were others too. Campion…I liked him. A lot. He is very smexy and if there’s a spinoff book about him and a love interest, please oh please Ms. Falter—> Sign. Me. Up. I still liked Ezra, Maggie’s mother figure, but didn’t get Rufus and Felix….I didn’t see them add anything to the story. Someone I shouldn’t like is Marco, but honestly, I still hold out hope he isn’t such a bad guy. I also liked Ms. Beedenwigg, who seemed quirky and eccentric, but that was only on the surface.
I loved how Maggie used her ability as a Messenger to visit herself in past lives. This is where the romance part of the book got so good for me. While we learned about Maggie, we also learned about the love between her and Eran over lifetimes, and it seemed epic. It gave the characters more depth for me, so they didn’t seem like teenagers-very well done.
Now for the nitpicking…..I really did love this book but I can’t quite give it 5 stars because the heroine is a little foolish and head strong. While her intentions are always good, sometimes she thinks a little too hastily. However it wasn’t enough to stop me from liking Maggie and rooting for her the whole time. Even the ending (while it tied up nicely) when Maggie makes her final decision without consulting anyone, it bugged me. She just seemed a little too naive still. However, overall I loved, loved, loved the story.
If you love angels and are looking for an intense read I highly rec this series! I’m starting the 3rd and final book tonight, Reckoning.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ More action, more answers, and higher stakes. Eternity steps things up from book one with deeper worldbuilding and stronger emotional beats. Maggie and Eran’s relationship intensifies, and the plot moves at a faster pace. I’d recommend it for readers who enjoy a sequel that expands the universe and ramps up the drama.
4.5 star -- One of the BEST series I have read this year! (DO NOT LET THE COVERS FOOL YOU!) Laury Falter, creates a masterpiece with her Guardian Trilogy. This series is the definition of near-perfection with a few minor errors. Fallen, is the first book of Falter that I have read, and I was mesmerize by her creativity, -detailed writing. And, she does not prolong the events and tries to stretch out the story! I love that! This is a trilogy and I am glad she did not try to expand the story any further, then, it would have changed my opinion; the plot would have become dull.
Fallen, I rated a 5/5 star. Deserves all compliments and recognition—A solid plot, vibrant characters, action, (only to name a few admirable qualities of this first installment) mystery, and best of all, it is unpredictable!
This is where readers are introduced to Maggie and Eran for the first time. It's amazing to see how their relationship builds, their dialogues are full of wit and sarcasms. Full of fun. I enjoyed every moment of their interactions!
Eternity, (4.5/5 stars) second book in the series, just as good, but there were a few grammar and incomplete sentence issues (It's not really incomplete sentence, but there were one or two chapters where -- before the next page a word would be cut short.) It didn't really affect the book, you still are able to understand what the author is trying to say, I am merely pointing it out for those who cares about these little things.
Reckoning, (4/5 stars) the last installment ... the final conclusion, and I could not have imagined a better one! Action-packed and SO much thrill! The reason for the 4/5 star, is because Maggie annoyed me at some parts, she kept wanting to jump into action without thinking matters through. An ending that doesn't disappoint, however!
Overall, from the beginning to the very end, Laury Falter held my attention (after book one, I bought book two, and then three. THAT's how good this book is) with her detailed writing (the description of the world she created, to the in between world Maggie goes through, it was not hard to picture), surprises, and creativity ( there were many new elements I have never seen in any other YA, what is most important, is that she was able to take those standout-elements and mash them together, without the story seeming overdone). A great read, I highly recommend!
And it continuously gets better while still surprising me! We’re getting more deep into the world of the fallen, and we’re learning more about them and how they work. We’re learning that there’s even bigger, badder guys! All the while having characters who grab us by the hair and don’t let go! Ok that sounds painful and I don’t mean it that way. I do mean it that I was on the edge of my seat while reading and just HAD to know what was gunna happen and who would jump out of the dark corner at you next!
Maggie is in deep doo-doo! Lol she’s got even more on her plate as she learns more about her role to play. She’s got a family she loves- even if they aren’t blood. She’s got a boy she loves- even if it’s complicated. And now, not only does she need to protect them, she really needs to keep herself alive all the while trying to balance life and do her part! I think she’s still growing as a character and I love her more for it!
Eran…. Well, he’s complicated but at least it’s for the right reasons. Even Maggie is starting to actually agree with their difficult relationship balance. He’s so cute when he gets all serious! He really does value her life over his and its beautiful!
We have the same- totally awesome- characters returning, and we’re getting some new ones! I’m definitely liking these! I love the roles each plays out to Maggie, especially the bad guys! It’s too bad they are all bad guys, as sometimes you can’t help but like that particular bad guy… *cough* Marco *cough* he’s a very intriguing character to me… But I somehow don’t think he’s one to be the “good” bad boy!
There is something special about the way this author writes. She does some fantastic things with spinning a supernatural creature that’s been done many times and having her own take! And her “trips” she has Maggie take, let’s just say that everyone will fall in love with Maggie and Eran all over again! I absolutely cannot wait to jump right in to book three! I’ve found another author to stalk- plain and simple- because she’s that good! You should definitely be reading this series! 5 TIME TRAVELING AWESOME PAWS!!!
(Review copied from my review of the first book in this trilogy, 'Fallen', since it comments on both books)
I really wanted to like this series. I gave it the old college try, because I liked the premise and the narrator's backstory. But I just couldn't do it. I made it through the second book in the trilogy, and after finally accepting that things were not going to get better, I gave up. Pros: The premise is interesting, the world Falter builds seems fairly well thought out (at least my cursory read of the first two books felt that way), and the characters have some real potential. Cons: It reads like a rough draft - the writing is bulky (I'm not saying 'inelegant', although if pressed I would say that as well, but that implies that I went in to reading the series expecting more than I ought to have from the writing, which is not the case), at some points in the second book it seems like the narrator has a real problem expressing herself and gets overly caught up in minutiae, not to mention the fact that the second book does not deal with the the break in the continuity of narration in a satisfying way (without spoiling, if you read through the first book, you'll have a fairly clear understanding of what the main character and narrator needs to experience, and what types of rabbits will be pulled from which hats). Falter's publisher is Audeamus, LLC. Their website has little to no information about their clients or the company in general, but a quick search on Barnes and Noble indicates that Falter is the only author of theirs sold by B&N, and a search on Amazon yielded only Falter's titles, so I am left to believe that this is a self-published work, which really means only that Falter work does not have the benefit of a team of skilled copy editors and a marketing budget to rival other, traditionally-published authors. Being a self-published author is a lot of hard work, and anyone with a story to tell should be encouraged to tell it. I just wish that this story had benefited from some additional revision.
Maggie is settling down to her new life in New Orleans. She is learning to control the uncomfortable physical response that plagued her unmercifully when she first moved to town. Maggie is also finding out more about herself and her previous lives. She is more determined than ever to protect those whom she has grown to love, and find a way to vanquish the evil that has stalked her for hundreds of years.
Eran is Maggie’s diligent protector. He is determined not to let his deep and abiding love for her interfere with his duty to keep her safe. He has his hands full because Maggie is just as determined not to put those she loves in danger.
A battle of wills rages in this story as both Maggie and Eran must face some horrendous truths. Maggie discovers more about her ancestry by revisiting previous pivotal episodes on the astral plane. She also trains daily with her mentor and friend in order to hone her combat skills. In the war that is upon them, both Maggie and Eran are tested, and are forced to use every resource available to them.
The strange and compelling world-building begun in the first book is expanded significantly in this second installment. The increased complexity of the relationships certainly keeps this story from ever becoming dull or predictable. Yet, all the added nuances mesh perfectly in the grand scheme of the entire framework. Once again, the author brings us a story that is unstinting in intensity, drama and everlasting love. A world filled with robust characters – some of which are despicable, regardless of the reasons that may have contributed to their downfall. Unfailingly mesmerizing, this series has me hooked; I am looking forward to the third installment.

The Guardian Trilogy: Book 1 - Fallen Book 2 - Eternity Book 3 - Reckoning
Great storyline, but...... ***spoilers ahead*** I really enjoyed the first book and the characters, but it wasn't enough to make up for the obvious holes in the storyline. I just couldn't understand WHY she would stay in school and continue to endanger Maggie's life and the lives of everyone else in the whole school. It just didn't make sense to me given her need to keep everyone safe. She never had to go to school before so to me this was a huge plot issue. I could never get back into the story as she delt with new issues at the school that she shouldn't even be at to begin with. So it was a bust for me....
So... book 2 in this series gets a straight up 4 stars from me.
1) A lot of the issues I had re: background and set up in book 1 have been resolved. *A lot* of my questions have been answered and now, especially now that we saw snippets from Maggie's past life, I totally get Eran. So... that B- I gave on background is getting changed to an A-. Well done on that front, Ms. Author. I really liked what you did here in book 2.
2) I'm giving Maggie and Eran a solid A as characters. I really love both of them. They stand alone individually (Eran is a badass and I really like Maggie), but their devotion and love for each other is just swoon-worthy. The UST. Oh my. It's really just lovely.
3) I found that the action sequences and story-telling improved from last book to this one. It's tighter, the pace is faster, and the plot flows better. Again, I think because we've been given a lot of background now, it's all starting to make sense.
4) The writing itself seems to be a little more polished with this installment and I found the editing to be a little better, too. It's not great literature, but it's good, especially for YA and compared to some of the schlock out there. I'll give it a B+/A-. The only segments I found a little ehhh was in the flashbacks how the author chose to sometimes use Eran/Maggie versus their period-appropriate names. That was a little inconsistent. But minor.
5) The world is still rocking my socks off. It feels fresh and new, and with all the background we have now, it's clicking into place. I love it. Love the concept and the whole premise of the guardians/messengers/etc. A.
I'm loving this little series. Such a pleasant surprise. More people need to give this a shot. I'm only sad that I only have one book left. :/
Im not really into the angels books. I havent had much luck at all. Each book I have read about Angels I didnt love and so I didnt finish the series. My luck has turned, I found Fallen (the first book in this series). Now, I didnt love it cause so much went unanswered, but I liked it enough to get the next one (this one) Eternity, and boy am I glad I did.
Again, the author succeeded in luring me into the pages with her descriptive narrative. The adventure continued for Magdalene and Eran and I could not stop reading until I had reached the end. In this installment, I was most interested in watching as Magdalene and Eran's love blossomed more, building on what was established in Fallen. Their unspoken, and spoken, devotion to one another is beyond reproach. Something that was so very easy to fall into with them. I finished Eternity within twelve hours and returned to the Kindle Bookstore within moments to purchase the third and final chapter of this duo's story, Reckoning. I highly recommend this trilogy to the YA crowd as well as adults.
Again, same as with Fallen, this book had a severe lack of editing prior to being published and released. Actually, Eternity was riddled with far more grammatical and punctuation errors than Fallen fell victim to. There were at least two or three in each chapter which made the story choppy as I had to back track multiple times to figure out how it should have been displayed on the page. This obvious disrespect for the editing process is the reason for my one star reduction in my review. The book would have flowed much better if I, the reader, wasn't tasked with editing as I read.
I liked this book alot and it did not take me long at all to get into this one like it did the first one, the reason I gave it 4 stars is because there was alot of repetitiveness, you would read about what happened one day and then each day after that for awhile was the same exact thing, may be one change here and there. I did enjoy reading about Ginny and Eran's past lives together and seeing what all they had been through and I liked learning about the Elsics. I knew there was more to her housemates then met the eye but I wasn't quite sure what, very happy with what they turned out to be. The other frustrating thing is that no matter what Ginny never listens to anyone, she is always doing what she thinks is best even though Eran can remember everything from their past and knows more then her when it comes to this battle with the Fallen she still doesn't listen then she ends up making everything harder then it needs to be and it gets others hurt. Then finally I thought we were going to enjoy her and Eran together for awhile and so goes off and does something that makes no sense to me whatsoever, I did not like how this ended and I hope the third and final book does not take forever to get them together because it will make me so angry.
