Lexi #1.5

Twisted Views: Fate's Companion

Rate this book
A Twist of Fate pulled us effortlessly into the world of Lexi Reed - the feisty, smart, sexy and career driven PR manager whose world was turned upside down when she met and began representing her favourite rock band, Power Station. This opportunity of a lifetime not only capitulated Lexi into a new and exciting world but onto a hot and steamy path with Alex Stone, the band's lead guitarist. Their passion simmered as they tired to maintain their secret relationship, leaving both Alex and Lexi wanting more than the "no strings, sex only" agreement they had negotiated. Hearts and rules were broken as Lexi learned the hard way, you can't negotiate with emotions, least of all love.

In this companion novella, we get to examine what has happened behind the scenes from different perspectives, told to us by the characters themselves. Through the eyes of Alex and others we get a clearer view of how Lexi's arrival affects not only dynamics of the band but their personal relationships with her and each other.

We get to know the main players more intimately as we are given access to interviews and personal accounts, learning not only about them and what makes them tick but how their world has changed since Lexi's arrival.

T Gephart is a USA Today and International bestselling author from Melbourne, Australia.

With an approach to life that is somewhat unconventional, she prefers to fly by the seat of her pants rather than adhere to some rigid roadmap.

Her lack of "plan" has resulted in a rather interesting and eclectic resume, which reads more like the fiction she writes than an actual employment history.

She'd tell you all about it, but the statute of limitations hasn't expired yet. But all those crazy twists and turns have led her to a career she loves—writing romantic comedy.

When she isn't filling pages with sassy and sexy characters with attitude, she's living her own reality show in the 'burbs of Melbourne with her American husband, two teenage children, and her fur child—Woodley.

She loves adventure, to laugh, travel, and strives to live her life to the fullest.

I normally don’t like prequels or novellas that go back in time. I like to move forward and get impatient when I have to go back in time no matter how much the novella might fill in the gaps. So I was a bit sceptical when I started this book. But this book is different! Even though I thoroughly enjoyed this step back in time, I was confused as to why I was enjoying this so much, but then it hit me. I had an epiphany!
First of all, it’s NOT a prequel; it’s a companion novel so the reader isn't taken back to a time before A Twist of Fate is written. Secondly, A Twist of Fate is entirely written from Lexi’s POV as is A Leap of Faith, except for one chapter and this is the first big difference. None of this book is written from Lexi’s POV. I think the best way to explain Twisted Views is to use a quote from T. Gepart herself in the Preface." It was only after the second part of the Lexi series, A Leap of Faith, had been published and I was writing the third and final instalment, A Time for Hope, that I felt I needed to go back and revisit the first book again and let some on the facets of the other characters come to light.” And that is exactly, what the author does BUT it is so much more.
Remember I said that I had that little ‘epiphany’? Now is the time to tell you whatit was. Now each chapter revisits a moment of time in the series, but from a different character’s POV. But that’s not it. The reader doesn't only visualise the events from another character’s POV, but we also get an insight into what they’re thinking so, in my opinion, I felt like I was reading a snippet in the diary/journal of each of these characters.
Now that can only be achieved because of T. Gepart’s writing. Her writing skills allow us to look at an event through different characters’ eyes. These ‘diary entries’ allow the reader to see a different perspective while also having a good laugh; or maybe that’s just me; but I don’t think so. There’s even a reference to Candy Crush which used to be one of my addictions until I gave it up because it is SO frustrating. I almost forgot to mention the Interviews with your favourite characters found at the end of the book. They were classic!
To sum it up, T. Gepart has done it again. I loved it! I gave it 5 out of 5 stars and I can’t wait to read A Time for Hope.

Twisted Views Fate's Companion (The Lexi Series, #1.5) by T. Gephart I really enjoyed 'A Twist of Fate' and 'A Leap of Faith' by T. Gephart, so I figured it would only follow suit that I would enjoy this one also. So imagine my surprise when I started reading it and found it was nothing like I expected it to be! It was SO MUCH BETTER! Throughout the first two books, the other characters are all strong, well developed and vital to the storyline. They not only add to the story, they compliment it. Whilst the humour within the first two books was evident, it was nothing like the funny, laugh out loud commentary that went on in Twisted Views.

Each chapter is a different moment in time, either before, during or after a specific event in 'A Twist of Fate', told from one of the other characters points of view. Whilst the first two books are predominantly told from Lexi's point of view, it stands to reason that she would be the only one who would not contribute to this novella. I loved how we got to see what was going on in everyone's head at different times. Dan's brain to mouth filter (or lack of it) was even more evident. Taylah, is completely nuts and it is hilarious reading her thinking behind some of her actions. It was refreshing being able to catch a glimpse into the other characters perspective and for me it added another facet of enjoyment to the series. Finding out actions behind some of the events that took place in 'A Twist of Fate' and how everyone else felt about what was going on around them was brilliant.

For me this book wasn't so much a companion to 'A Twist of Fate', but more of a compliment, however with that in mind, you cannot read this without having read 'A Twist of Fate' prior to it at the very least. If you haven't read this series, I suggest you give it a shot. I thoroughly enjoyed it.

This book is described as a series of vignettes (okay I have no idea what that means), written from different characters points of view, which appear in the same order as the events of A Twist of Fate.

The author explains at the start of each chapter where this vignette fits in, such as what has happened prior to this scene. This means it's not a standalone but it certainly is an excellent and novel companion book.

I loved both Twist of Fate and A Leap of Faith, Alexi was an amazing character you couldn't help fall in love with, so I couldn't wait to read this book, and I wasn't disappointed.

There's the scene leading to the accident, Alex's meeting with the dreadful Marcy, evenings out, and the intervention from Tylah.

It's a great look into the minds of some of the characters who were more back seat in the book, it introduces elements that weren't in the original book or were simply glossed over in passing. It's a very easy read, and if you loved A Twist of Fate then you'll love this additional content just as much.

This novella is the companion to A Twist of Fate and shouldn't be read as a stand alone it follows the same time frame as the original Novel.

I really enjoyed A twist of fate and I was looking forward to reconnecting with some of my favourite characters in Twisted Views.

This Novella is unique as in takes the views and thoughts of all the supporting characters into account that and gives the reader the whole story of how Lexi was able to affect them all.

It was like returning home with this book back to a family I love just a little bit more now

I have got to say.. I FREAKING LOVED THIS BOOK! I loved all the POV'S of almost every character from the books! I couldn't get enough.. See we have Lexi a kick butt, take no names, tough attitude.. we heard from her side in the first and second books . This book is 1.5 in the series and had me laughing and crying at almost every turn! It was a breath of fresh air compared to other books .. it didn't drone on like most second POV'S , I am completely in love with all of these characters! Dan has me cracking up with his antics , Jase and Troy are the level headed ones and are each sexy in their own ways, James The leader of the band Power Station ( did I forget to tell you that most of the characters are H-O-T ROCKERS!!! ) he is married to Hannah sweet sweet Hannah, they such a beautiful relationship you don't really see that in a lot rocker relationships <3. Taylah, Crazy as hell, funny, spunky kick butt woman! Then you have her laid back SO Cal attitude hubby Dave, she's the ying to the yang.. who says opposites don't attract?! Don't you worry sexy Texan Matt is in there too! How can Lexi's best friend not be in there? Last but not least... ALEX HOLY SMOKES! If his testy personality didn't turn you on then the SMOKIN' SEX will keep you hot and bothered! WOW! This book kept you going with every chapter, I loved the relationship between all the characters, they are a family and welcome anyone in <3. We read in the first book "I'M SORRY ALEX. I DIDN'T MEANT TO MISLEAD YOU. IT WASN'T MY INTENTION TO TAKE IT THIS FAR. I THOUGHT WE WERE JUST HAVING FUN. I'M SORRY." LEXI'S WORDS LOOPED AROUND IN MY HEAD ON CONSTANT REPLAY,"JUST GO ALEX, THERE IS NOTHING HERE FOR YOU." We were lead on a journey that lead the two back to each other and in this book it was everyone's POV on what is going..I gotta say it is GENIUS! I absolutely love this series and can't wait for the third... A TIME FOR HOPE, COMING OUT hopefully in February 2014! I gotta ask though .. .. What is it with most of the characters liking Coke and MAC?? LOL haha ! I love these books and can't wait for more! Both books... A TWIST OF FATE AND A LEAP OF FAITH are both out right now! TWISTED VIEWS: FATE'S COMPANION comes out DECEMBER 10th! Go Pre-order it NOW!!! YOU WILL LOVE IT! I give Ms. T Gephart 5 freaking stars! ~Chris :)

Having fallen in love with Alex and Lexi in the first two novels, it was delightful to be able to revisit the action surrounding "A Twist of Fate" in "Twisted Views". I've read a few books lately that are written from the point of view of other characters in the story, but this is more a set of different perspectives that give you a more complete perspective of who Lexi, Alex and Power Station are, which is so much nicer than a regurgitation of a story written in a different way.

Most of the action in this novel is entirely new material which rounds out the first story, there are only two scenes that are revisited and they do truly bring a different perspective, allowing us to both see the depth of Alex's attraction (pre-love?) for Lexi and more insights into both characters.

While there was a lot of humour in the other novels, there are so many laugh-out-loud parts to this story that I find it hard to pick my favourite. The insights into the workings of Taylah's mind are pretty hilarious and seeing Dan reduced to a stuttering mess is also pretty awesome.

While this is definitely a companion book, it gives us so much more insight into the characters and is clearly written from different perspectives that I had to give this a 5 stars. I can't wait for the next one!!

Twisted Views makes a wonderful companion after reading A Twist of Fate. Here we get to experience perspectives of several other characters during the same time frame as the first book. It not only helps us get to know those characters better, it gives an interesting look at how the lives of others are affected by meeting and integrating Lexi into their lives. I was definitely eager to spend more time with these characters after finishing A Twist of Fate and this was a great way to get to re-read that story in a different way. I would definitely recommend this to those of you who have started this series.

Really enjoyed it. Laugh out loud moments (cringing as I write the cliche, but it's truth).

Only problem, I wished there was more. Yes, I liked it THAT much. An unexpectedly great read. Unexpected for me, as I'm not usually a fan of the companion books.

Looking forward to the third and final book in the Lexi series.

I have to say I have thoroughly enjoyed this book it has that feel good factor about it. As you know what is happening already after reading the first in the series this gives you great insight in to the other characters and what they were thinking at the time. I love the little authors notes that explain where you are at what point in the first book you are. This is very different from any of the other books I have read and was a lovely edition to the series. You really do get to learn so much about the other characters and there feelings towards Lexi and Alex. I didn't think it was possible to fall in love with Lexi any more than I already had but I did she is so quirky, I love the extra snippets that we get to see of Lexi through this book. I have to say though I think my favourite character in this book has to be Dan; he gave me so many laugh out loud moments, actually getting some strange looks from passers by. Here's a little quote to show you just how funny Dan is: "Do I look like an escort?" Lexi held her hand up silencing Alex as she faced me. "Well maybe one of those expensive ones that cost you like a grand to jizz on their face" Not that I'd ever pay for sex. Dan did not need to pay for sex. Ok! So maybe I'd paid for sex once...or twice...five times tops!" How could you not think this guy is funny!

Twisted Views is Fate's Companion novel. It is highly recommended that you read Fate 1 & 2 before you read this. The events in this book reflect upon everything that took place in book 1 and 2. You are granted a more in depth view from a variety of character's that you have met in book 1 and 2. There is a description at the beginning of each chapter to explain what scene is being reflected upon. I really enjoyed reading this companion because I was able to learn what each character was thinking. Book 1 and 2 are from Lexi's P.O.V. and this companion gives you insight on a variety of characters. I feel that it really added to the story and it made me love and appreciate the characters even more especially Alex, Matt, and Hannah. Overall this is a fantastic series and the companion is a little ribbon that contributes to the story very nicely. Go read this now!

I enjoyed this insightful read! It was interesting to get to know the other characters of the series and their take on the Lexi & Alex situation. And, of course, to get inside Alex's head - I adore him! I'm loving this series!

What a great idea this book is, as it is a parallel book to "A Twist of Fate" novel. It tells the POV of many of the central characters. Plus, the author also added an Interview Section, where she interviews all the main characters in this wonderful Series.
I really wish more authors would use this concept.
It allowed me to understand the character more and made the reading of the Twist of Fate, even that more meaningful.

This book gave great insight into all the other characters but I didn't like how it jumped from 1 part of the story to the next. If I hadn't have just finished reading A Twist of Fate I would have been lost trying to rack my brain as to what happened.
I didn't dislike this book but didn't love it either.

I enjoyed reading this companion novella that gives the reader a peek into what some of the secondary characters were thinking and/or doing during the event of the first book in the series. It not only lets us know what else was going on during this time but gives us insight into the personalities of the other characters.

I generally get frustrated when reading a book about the same story but from someone's prospective. This was different because it was much more than just the same story told slightly different, it filled in a lot of behind the scenes so to speak.
Worth a read if you enjoyed Lexi's story
