Book Three of the Daddy School series, originally published in 1998. Dennis Murphy’s rambunctious seven-year-old twins swear he’s the best lawyer in Arlington, Connecticut. They don’t make his job easy, however. When the nanny he hires to watch the twins walks out on them one afternoon while Dennis is meeting with the opposing attorney concerning a libel case, Dennis is forced to bring his work home with him.
Gail Saunders is a lawyer in the public defender’s office. When her former client, a Russian immigrant who’s had a few scrapes with the law in the past, implores her to sue the city’s newspaper for libel after his name appears in a front page article in connection with a series of thefts, she agrees to represent him, even if it means going up against Murphy and his prestigious, wealthy law firm, and even if it means she has to deal with his wild children once their nanny goes AWOL. Gail isn’t the sort to become all warm and fuzzy around children—especially imps like Sean and Erin Murphy. She’s missing the maternal gene, and the romantic gene as well. Just because Murphy is smart and funny and sexy as hell doesn’t mean she’s going to fall for him. She knows his seductive charms are merely tactics in his effort to win the libel suit.
Being the sister of one of the founders of the Daddy School, Gail believes Murphy could use a few lessons in how to be a better father. But she’s got a few things to learn, too, and Dennis Murphy might just be the man to teach her.

Usually with stories involving nannies, the nanny falls in love with employer, etc. This was nowhere near that. The character was far different than what is typical ( she hates kids and he has 2). There are some other aspects of the plot that spice it up. It’s not just one event or anything throughout the whole thing. The author doesn’t drag anything out which is really nice. It isn’t all about romance (there is some legal stuff, but she doesn’t linger long enough to make it boring.). All in all a great read
History has left our heroine scarred and she has no plans to fall in love and she certainly doesn't think she loves children. Sean and Erin are rambunctious and too smart for their own good and before too long the public defender is smitten by high-powered attorney Dennis Murphy and his twins. I enjoyed how their story evolved and the tentative steps they took towards connecting beyond the case. It was sweet watching them fall in love.
Loved the twins from the get go. How the two reveries got together was so much fun to read. But Gail was finally saved by the love of her life. Have enjoyed The Daddy School Series so much.
I really cannot connect with the characters; I didn’t find the seven year olds funny....just incredibly spoiled and undisciplined. The heroine is boring and unlikeable and the hero is arrogant and “entitled.”
This is my first book by Judith Arnold. I found it a lot of fun, not just with Dennis and Gail but especially some of the stuff his twins say and do. It also has some good secondary characters.
The children were horrible and the lead female was a criminal’s lawyer that actually believed the lies he fed her. So much inner dialogue and I was only 20% in.
Nope. I only get to read a book a month and I was not wasting it on this one. Not my cup of tea.
I may have to read this again. And honestly, I skipped to the end. Maybe that is why I feel author may have rushed the end and not properly proof read it to make sure it made sense. I just can't get over the billing part. That was skimmed over so badly, and he barely apologized for it.

Sean and Erin are typical 7 year olds. Dennis has his hands full and meets Gail- someone not his type at all. Love wins through s series of missteps and miscommunication
The book had highs and lows. I didn't find Gail the heroine likable and wasn't convinced by the somewhat abrupt shift the Hero, Dennis, did from disliking her to being obsessed with her. The plot redeemed itself when Dennis wooed her and helped her get over her traumas, then it fell down by the story climax, when their argument and distancing seemed forced and immature.
Still, I loved Dennis. I love a Hero with contrasts and textures, and the author did an amazing job portraying him as this mixture of high-shot attorney and overwhelmed daddy. I loved the vivid and realistic descriptions of the messes in a house attacked by young children and really enjoyed the twins banters and crazy babbling--very true for kids. I definitely want to read the previous two books in the series.
Two lawyers on opposite sides of a frivolous lawsuit. Gail is a single woman with no man in her life & she hates children. Dennis, a divorced father of 7 yr old twins, has custody when the ex moves to Seattle, WA with her new husband. Nothing in common, Gail thinks Dennis is cocky. Dennis & Gail make a bet when she tells him he needs to attend the Daddy School. Soon Dennis has the Hots for Gail. Gail can't fathom being attracted to Dennis, she has never been attracted to a man. No she isn't attracted to women, she was hurt by a man when she was in college. I really enjoyed their banter, Erin & Sean's antics, Dennis's relationship with his children was very heartfelt & warm. A few errors with words where they didn't belong. Overall this book was very enjoyable!!
I liked the cute twins in this story, but I didn't expect a book with such a cute cover of two little kids on it to be so explicit in 'the way kids are made' - I purposely didn't read the blurb because it appeared to be telling so much about the actual story, and I didn't look at past reviews on other books in this series.
I love books with legal content and found the legal interactions between Dennis and Gail very interesting, and Gail's Russian immigrant client. Leo, was delightful in his attempt to learn and understand English, like getting 'meat on your ribs' would turn out to be 'skin on your bones'.
I didn't think the book required the language and explicit behind the bedroom door scenes. The characters in the stories are interesting and the plot overall is well done.
This is a story about two lawyers who meet as opposing council and are attracted to each other. Gail sees this flirting as a ruse to throw her off her game but Dennis is very serious. When they get close Tails deep dark secret comes out. Dennis is wonderful and understanding until he feels his children's lives have been threatened. Gail takes it personally and Dennis is devastated. The kids are much more perceptive than most give them credit for and try to help their father. Well worth reading.
Should start at beginning of series, but very impressed. She a gullible attorney for soft word believing sweet words of con men. Went fast in starting relationship but sometimes things just happen that way. I have an issue with mother of children moving away from babes, but at least he got his new mom a for his babies and that made up for the cruelty of those children's mother implemented.
I loved this book but gave it 4 stars because I believe someone as intelligent as Gail would have gotten extensive therapy rather than letting a horrible incident from 11 years ago rule and sour her life. Thankfully, by the time she met Dennis she was able to trust him and his caring & understanding helped her heal. I did not like Dennis's children because they were loud, wild and undisciplined but, I guess the had to be to fit into the Daddy School.
Gail Saunders fights for the underdog—she’s a public defender. She doesn’t like abuses of power, like she feels the local paper has done to her client. She also doesn’t like children. So when she meets the opposing counsel and his rambunctious twins, she’s determined to win the case. What she doesn’t count on is just how persuasive Dennis Murphy can be, in negotiations and up close and personal. Not just how much two little imps can wrap around a heart.
I don't know why but this book was not one that held my interest. Perhaps it was the twins' behavior. Whatever it was, I kept being distracted from the storyline. This is the type of book I pick up when I know I am going to be interrupted throughout my day.
The series is fun to read, but book 3 was especially entertaining. The Murphy twins are just too funny. The humorous situation of being a serious professional working parent and having your kids derail you on a regular basis hit home with me. Well written, fun, entertaining; I will continue to read the rest of the series.
If you love true love stories this is one series you ought to read. Like every love story it comes with a set of problems that have to be overcome. Definitely recommend and start with book one as they are connected and addictive.
I enjoyed this story very much! It had it all! The Daddy School , tough lady lawyer, two rambunctious children and a mate that will show her what love is like.
It was a cute story about twins wanting their single father to like this woman who goes to the Daddy School to learn to be a better dad and working against each other in a case.
I found this book a delight to read and funny. Twins whom are so honest and out spoken, it would make your straight hair curl.. Two lawyer at a disagreement over the same client, where neither would back down..
This is the first book of this series I have read and I enjoyed it. Trying to keep his seven year old twins by himself is harder than he ever imagined. He tries to keep working as the big shot lawyer he is but things just get out of hand. I am going to try to find the other books in the series.

This was a great book and just what I expected. Love the way that it doesn't matter if you have read previous books in this series, you still get a buzz from the story. Loved it!!
I really enjoyed "Father of Two." Dennis and Gail butted heads as opposing council in a civil suit. Dennis had rambunctious twins, Gail didn't like children. But Gail and Dennis found themselves falling hard for each other!
I really enjoyed reading this story! The characters were interesting, the story was fresh, humorous and romantic. Gail's past was an obstacle to be overcome by Dennis' humor, love and his kids. 👍❤
Love this book, favorite line, your kids are a head ache, yes but they are my head ache.love the first cover, that what drew me to read the book,I saw mischievous In those kids eyes.
