The Power to Please — a dark and sensual tale of shattering loss and redeeming love.
Who knows where one night of passion might lead?
Recently-divorced Nonnie Crawford craves a new beginning -- it arrives in the form of an enigmatic, dark-eyed stranger she dubs The Businessman. He seduces her with a sizzling introduction to the thrill of sexual submission. As the days pass, she can't forget him or how he made her feel. She seeks him out, her search leading to a BDSM club where she meets Michael Weston, a charming playboy who's keen to seize the reins left dangling by the absent Businessman.
Knowing who to trust is always a challenge, and the odds of making a mistake are multiplied when gripped by new, intoxicating desires. Nonnie's choices prove the difference between perfect bliss and devastating ruin. Truth and trust. She'll need both as she struggles to earn indestructible love, and to claim, with that love, the ultimate power to please.

I was talked into reading this series and let me tell you I'm so glad I was.(these books are the reasons I read the other books I have lol) Deena Ward is a great writer amazing she is wonderful! This is a favorite series I have read it over and over and each time I still get the same feeling I did the first time! It is truly truly truly a MUST READ in my book! Keep up the great work Deena can't wait for more books from you! :)
I actually really enjoyed this series. I bought the first book off of bookbub for I believe $.99.
I was a little bit annoyed by how short the first book was that then "forced" me to buy the rest of the series, but it was a worthy purchase.
Overall the books were great. The author did a good job of offering character creation and helping the characters grow. The story is highly unrealistic, with way too many people in the community being part of the "scene" and the whole billionaire and "normal" person pairing.
I especially liked the 3rd and 4th book because that is where the author really shines on the plot and story. I would have liked a few more descriptive scenes instead of just ending it and skipping to hours later, but I really enjoyed growing and feeling like I was there at the estate.
The main plot felt a bit rushed at times and the climax also seemed a bit rushed. The "all hope is lose moment" did not linger long enough to make me feel like it may not be fixed, but quickly started working on fixing it and getting to the ending.
I really enjoyed the series, my first for this genre. Great read I would recommend to all!

I really enjoyed this series. I will say my least favorite book is the second one where I explored the relationship between Nonnie and Micheal. He was such an A**. I HATED him. LOL. The author did a beautiful job in rousing my emotions, I vacillated between laughter, hatred, hope and happiness as I went on Nonnie's journey with her. I loved her growth and how she triumphed in the end. I LOVE LOVE LOVE Gibson. He was just this sexy as hell sweetheart with all the right amount of Alpha I love in my books. I will say though the ending of book four left me a little miffed. I was so eager to see the predator in Gibson and how he and Nonnie trusted and surrendered to each other in detail. I was deprived and I almost cried. I still loved it though.
I got the first book 'The Businessman's Tie' as a freebie, and found it to be engaging and well-written, so wanted to read the next book, which is when I discovered the entire collection available in this bundle. I'm pleased I purchased it this way, as the second volume, 'The Playboy's Proposition', although still well-written was also, in places, uncomfortable reading, and I began to wonder at the direction the book was taking and might then not have purchased the later volumes. You need to read to the end. The events in book two are integral to the plot, and issues raised are later handled very well and with some style. A thoroughly good read.
What a great series! How did I miss this? Sexy, fun, realistic BDSM. Highly recommended. The story is like Pride and Prejudice. Young inexperienced sub chooses between a good Dom and a bad Dom and makes the wrong choice. The bad Dom is a sociopath, who is clever and manipulative. You know the type. They confuse you and tie you up in mental knots. Thus begins a period of abuse with the sub. If you are squeamish with sadism, don't read this. She finally realises how she's been tricked. The HEA is great and the good Dom is great too, just like Mr. Darcy. I enjoyed this.
This set of books was extraordinary for a first time author. The story sucks you in & doesn't let go of you throughout the set. BDSM scenes were pretty realistic...not like that 50 Shades of Grey bull. The characters were very likeable (except for Michael & Kamun). Gibson was enigmatic. B Nonnie was the perfect foil for him. Great storyline as well. I simply could not put it down & completely skipped a couple of nights of sleep. The sex/BDSM scenes for the most part were very hot & very realistic. Where are all these sexy, not bajillionnaires when I'm around? It's just not fair! Five enthusiastic thumbs up for this set !!!
I read this series back in 2014 and I was recently thinking about it. It took me awhile but I found it. So I am rereading an old favorite. This series was hotter than that fifty series.
In spite of being pissed off that these books ran out of steam....they still were some of my favorites. This is a compilation of 4 books the first 2.75 are EXCELLENT. I couldn't put them down. (As in, FSOG couldn't put them down. Like, mad that I had to leave the house, get up and do anything other than read) they were really, really good.
The story is about a recently divorced woman that is introduced into the world of BDSM. New story line? No. Good story line? Always. She is torn between 2 different DOMS. Again, New? No. good? Yes. However, these are very different men and the author does a great job of making you like both and then dislike them both. I was engrossed in the story from the start. It was sexy, raw, and gritty. There are times that it is raunchy and uncomfortable. I like that too. There are people in the sorry that I hated and people that I absolutely loved. I just hated the was the author softened one of the DOMS that was so hard. He became almost vanilla, that was what killed the last part of the book for me. It was still a great story but, I wanted more of the dark man we met at the beginning. Also, we quit getting all of the dirty little details about the sex that we were getting in the beginning.
21st Century Erotic Jane Austen. I loved this series and could not put it down. There are more than 100 plot points from Pride and Prejudice in this series. Some of the dialogue is word for word, Billionaire Gibson with his introverted ways and a huge estate is Mr. Darcy and Nonnie with her vivacity, wit and her submissive passion is Elizabeth. Their love story is so wicked and earnest at the same time. Instead of having a major plot point at a dance it was at a fun birthday naked play for a friend - with Nonnie dressed as a busty nurse and Gibson drooling from a viewing room in a secret sex club. Hot! Nonnie is "Sweet" and an exhibitionist. Somehow she is not a slut as she fears but an empowered divorcee determined to find her erotic truths. You go girl! The Bennett sisters are Nonnie's girlfriends. The devastatingly handsome Michael is Mr. Wickham. What a heart breaker with wolf eyes. I think this is the most I have ever fallen in love with the baddie except for maybe Bridget Jones Diary. I just finished and am going to re-read even though my kindle is stuffed with books I haven't read.
The first book, The Businessman's Tie, was mentioned to me in a reading group and since it was free, at that time, I downloaded it and then proceeded to forget about it. Then while surfing unread books on my kindle I came across it and decided to give it a try. OMG>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Blown away was what I was. So much so that I was back on Amazon purchasing the complete set before I was half way through the first book. A story of growth, trust, betrayal, hatred, forgiveness, compassion, deception, brutality, sex, bondage and love. With the main characters of Gibson and Nonnie and actually all characters so well portrayed that the words just flowed and drew me into this story as few books have ever done. Another time and place and you could have been in the pages of Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen which is a wonderful thing. My only complaint is that the story ended before I was ready for it to end. But then is that not how it should be? Is there not a truer testament to a great authors ability to write then to not want a story to end? Thank you for an amazing story. It is one I will reread again and again..
This one was a little difficult for me to initially really like. I think it was book two that I had to take a break during, because even though I can handle the hard core, some parts were a little too hard to read. However, then once the pieces of the story started to take shape and really bring a purpose of the books more into focus I couldn't put it down and I was starting to feel the highs and lows of the characters. I found myself smiling and mirroring some of the faces that were being described (which for me is a good sign that I am connected and tuned in). I was so emotional by the time the book ended, I found that I didn't even mind that I wasn't a big fan of the first two books, the last two books made the series! In the end I was sad the story was over.
9/7/17 Finished this for the second time, and probably not my last. First review is still right on, but Iforgot how hard I laughed at Nonnie's smart mouth.
Warning: there are some very graphic scenes in this collection that a difficult. Love the way each book in the series has a separate flavor. The Businessman's Tie was an erotic introduction but perhaps not as nicely written as the others. I was tempted to quit as I didn't care for Nonnie's dialog at times and worried it was going to be poorly written. So glad I stuck with it. Second book was disturbing in Michael's narcissistic treatment of Nonnie. Third was laugh out loud funny and the last was just sweet. I will definitely read Ward again.
SO SO happy I have found another author that satisfies my reading needs. Bit of romance, bit of drama, bit of kink, bit of surprises. Whilst I'm disappointed that a story can't be told in a stand-alone book it was a "Pleasure" to read this series. Downloaded the first book as it was free and peaked my interest, had not read any of this author's stories before. So glad I did (download it that is) before I finished it I had already downloaded the complete set to read the remaining books in the series. Hopefully I'll enjoy some of the authors other books though had read a release of a sci-fi erotic!!
Ok loved it!! First i very much appreciated the fact Ms. Ward actually wrote a book. Meaning, we learned about the characters, saw into their lives, & were walked through to the end. Don't get me wrong, i love the quick Rom-com's i read, they meet, have crazy sex & fall into love & HEA!! Doesn't mean i don't love an actual Novel.
At first i didn't care for the first person writing, or just how much description we're given. If you keep reading, the story is amazing.
Loved this series. Main character ...her name Nonnie just didn't sound right for me. Michael..... I took to him but what a twist in the story. Gibson, tall dark eyed stranger.... Wow, strong dominant male to start but....... No spoilers so you will have read this steamy BDSM story.
I have never read an erotic novel before, but a friend recommended this one so I thought why not. I found I am not that into reading sex scenes, and ended up skimming through most of them. The storyline of the books was excellent.
I chose this rating do to how well written the story was,how I couldn't put it down. I liked the love scenes. While reading it felt like I was watching a movie instead of reading it, that is how well it was written.
This book is amazing! You really get an insight on the life of the D/s BDSM. Nonnie's story is so many emotions. Her nieveness makes it sad in moments. Gibson Reeves is just heaven! Michael is just a monster! Absolute must read!
What a series! I laughed, cried, cringed, and "What the hell", most of the series. I was an emotional mess. I didnt exhale until Nonnie finally realized SHE had the power. I'm sharing this one with my friends and co workers. Thx
Ok, I like these Series... I don't like Michael and I am glad how that turned out for him. Great Books though.. loved the all the ups and downs in it. :-)
This was a great book. The only problem I had was with Paulette. I didn't to much like her and felt that she never showed and sub qualities even when she was around her husband and Dom.
