Second book by this author that I've read. I wasn't too keen on the first one I read, but the end of that book said that she had new proofreaders and editors. Didn't make a difference. This author is all over the place with story lines. There's information you don't really need tossed in, and information you're wondering about is left out. Apparently this was book 1 of a series and I'm sorry to say that I will NOT finish reading this series. I just don't care, that's how bad it was.
I wished she would have just written on larger book than breaking it into several smaller parts. The overall story was good but it did seemed rushed. I don't think I will be buying the other parts since she could have developed the story and characters more.
Lots and lots of twists and storylines which kept me turning the pages. The author attempted to describe the emotional and psychological feelings of the young girl (main character) in conjunction with the Amish community. Very very scattered and not consistent for the reader to process the theme. The ending truly caught me by surprise. I am curious as to what book 2 brings....I do wonder if this is the author's first writing due to the lack of English skills.
This was awful the story was all over the place / and so rushed. In one paragraph she is picking up peas and the next thing y o u know she is getting a mammogram. Will not be reading the rest in this series
Awful book story all over the place and rushed. One minute she is picking peas off the floor then she is getting a mammogram. Not reading anymore of his series.
Rachel Zook loved Elijah Yoder and they made a mistake during Rumpsriga and Rachel became pregnant and three years later another Amish man that helped them cover it up tells the secret to the Bishop and now all three of them are shunned.
Rachel really had triplets and she doesn't know it yet as the first part of the story ends in a cliffhanger.
Good storyline but I can't stand the way that every time an Amish word is said it's italicized. Maybe the first time so the reader knows its not just a typo but not every time! The story line didn't really pick up though until the very end of the book. Until the last 2 pages, I couldn't wait for this book to be over. Now I'm curious as to what will happen in the next book but not curious enough to read it with the irritating italicized Amish words throughout.
This is the second book of Sicily Yoder's I have read. I enjoyed the storyline. It had twists and turns which I wasn't expecting. I knew going into reading this book that other volumes followed it, so to get the whole picture I will purchase the other parts of the story. Yet, with what Ms. Yoder provides here it was enough to keep me turning the pages and I let out a gasp at the end.
I read the excerpt, a lot of info, I don't understand why authors give excerpt from their books? Just offer the full book, I'm new to the kindle world and amazon books, so I'm learning to check page amounts. hopefully I will read the full story soon
This was a nice short read. It had great potential, but I felt like it moved to fast and did not give enough time to build up. When I read a book, I like to feel connected with the characters and like I am part of the story. I did not get that while reading this book. Even though it left on a cliff hanger, I find that I am not interested in how it all plays out.
I read to the end of the book and said I have to wait till Feb but soon realzied that it was last year. I found it intriguing the way the author wrote the circumsances in the youth's life and the woman who couldn't conceive I would recommend it
This is NOT a book -- it's the first of a "series". It was all over the place. Here's a nice Amish boy who leaves...for a BIKER "gang". I managed to get through this thing because it was short. Will I read the rest of the series? Absolutely not.
This book cut off just as it was getting into the plot. Very disappointed. You can purchase the remainder, however i would not waste my money on this sequels maybe they all end in the start of the plot.
It was OK. I found it hard to read due to the grammar/editing errors but I thought the storyline was good. I would finish the series to find out what happens to everyone.
