Jasmine, a pediatric surgeon, has just learned the horrible, chilling truth about her boyfriend and his 'behind closed doors' business transactions. After a botched attempt by Jasmine to gather information against him for the FBI, Jonathan Araduccio determines to have her silenced once and for all. But when the first murder plot against her goes terribly awry, Jasmine immediately snatches her unexpected - but still golden - opportunity, practically right out of thin air. On a near-hopeless and frantic full-out sprint for her life, she immediately heads cross-country to try and elude whatever additional hired guns he may have already sent her way. But this time, he's called in reinforcements. Knowing any possible evidence that his ex-girlfriend has collected against him could put him away forever, Jonathan turns to the paid services of an expert assassin. After hiring Samuel Brannigan, Jonathan quickly sets the murderous but brilliant former Navy Seal out on her path. On the collision course of destiny, however, the killer somehow finds himself in deep trouble instead. After a brutal traffic accident, the unknown killer's life hangs by a thread as he dangles precariously over the edge of a gaping mountain chasm. Risking her own life to save that of the monster who had been stalking her every move, Jasmine brings him back from the brink of death, only to once again have to take off on the run. Realizing that his assignment was not what he'd at first been led to believe, Samuel Brannigan decides to make things right by helping Jasmine Whittaker get out of the impossibly dangerous situation that threatens to end her life with each and every breath she takes. Recovering in the hospital after emergency surgery, Samuel soon escapes; setting out immediately to once again locate his frightened target. This time, though, his intent is not to kill her; but to somehow convince her to allow him to save her life in return for his. ** The story of how the lives of these two individuals intertwine - how they have to learn to lean on each other, trust each, and how they even begin to learn to feel something for each other - as well as their necessary but terribly dangerous plot to take down her lethal and ruthless ex-boyfriend - is the basis for TC. Amazing. I really didn't think I'd like this book as much as I did. There was a considerable amount of action in it but it all seemed necessary and just increased the depth of the story (although I will just say certain bits were very graphic in the gory sense and I found myself squinting at the pages not wanting to read the words but still needing to if that makes sense - I couldn't just skip them!). Samuels love and the way he treated Jasmine was so heartwarming - I fell in love with him a bit myself! At certain points I found my heart racing and I couldn't seem to read fast enough to find out what happened. It seems a more realistic book in the sense that Jasmine wasn't saved before anything bad could happen, even after Samuel changes sides effectively. And I did wonder - especially towards the end if Jasmine could possibly be saved. The ending itself (without giving anything away) just blew my mind! Wow! My heart was definitely in my throat for it. I still find myself thinking of this book weeks later - it was just that good!!! Would I recommend this book - hell yeah!! :-)

I try not to ever post any spoilers in my reviews but this one may have a couple of small ones. I just wanted to let everyone know ahead of time.
When I first started reading this book it was like walking into the middle of an action movie, there was no building of the action or suspense it was right there from the very start. That being said, it worked so well for this novel to draw me and keep me turning the pages for hours. The character development is fantastic and the writing flows so well that it is more like watching a movie than reading a book.
Jasmine is a pediatric surgeon, a job that she has given her life too. After the loss of her family she has never let anyone get back into her life and is able to work to her hearts content with out being hindered by anyone or anything. But her life soon falls apart and she is forced away from the world she loves so very much to have to run for her very life. So much happens when she is on the run and things make so many twists and turns for her and for one of the men sent to hut her down.
Samuel is a hired gun. He is sent to find and kill Jasmine by her rich ex-boyfriend. The one thing Samuel never thought would happen suddenly hits him so hard that he finds out that he is not as evil and heartless as he thought his choice of life had made him. As he finds out the real reason his boss wants this woman dead he decides right then and there that something has to be done. What happens after he makes that decision leaves him feeling more alive than he has felt in years but the fear that follows may be more than he can bare.
Jonathan is a rich business man who also has his hand in some illegal things. After the loss of his wife in a house fire he is left to raise his son, Tony. When Tony has an accident and has to be rushed to the hospital, Jonathan meets a beautiful young doctor who he must get to know. As he is able to win her over with this charm he knows that she must be his forever but when she finds out what is business really evolves he first tries to scare her into submission and break her so to speak so when she gets away from him he knows she has to be stopped but all things change when he finds she is harboring a secret. Then his plans change and she must be brought back to him alive.
There is so much about this book that I could just go on and on about but I think I have said enough. I highly recommend this book for any one who loves romantic suspense or just a good action book or if you are looking for a nice read to settle in with on a long weekend.
Definitely a 5 stars page turner. Good pace ans great story line with twist and turns. Samuel and Jasmines characters are both strong. Its a fantastic action triller parallel with a deep love story. You won't disappoint.
I really enjoyed the book in general. It was clever, gripping, scary, tense, well written with a disturbing plot. However, it was too long. Although I really enjoyed it I found myself wishing it would hurry up and end. Sometimes it would just go over and over the same bits of the story, or be recollecting things that had already happened. Some of the content was not very nice and some of the language horrible. But, I think it was a good book overall.
