Hmmmm....can't say I didn't see that coming. Review to come with my tour date on 9/13.

**FULL REVIEW**

“How did I know all this at the tender age of twenty-five? I won’t go into it now, but trust me, I know women. I’ve been intimate with the female species—because they are a ‘species’ unto their own…Because I started young, but the time I was college age, I really was au fait with the physical and physiological machinations of the female sex. Not that I went to college. Not for long, anyway. I was too busy plotting to take over the world, shut in my man cave. Coding. Being a nerd. Designing HookedUp. But as most people know, nerds get their revenge…I was right…by the time I was the grand old age of twenty, I’d played the field so much that all I wanted was a safe, stable relationship with a normal girl…and that somebody was Pearl Robinson.”

As much as this was the same story, it was very different. Reading Pearl & Alexandre’s story from his point-of-view gave me a new and deeper perspective on this relationship between an older woman and younger man. I can honestly say, Alexandre is hot. I thought he was pretty hot before…now, oh.my.goodness. *swoon-worthy for sure* I love books told from the male POV and this is no exception. Listening to the inner monologue of a man is like uncharted territory, hearing the thoughts and feelings that most of the time as a woman, we miss; Arianne captured him perfectly.

“It was evident that neither of us could keep away from each other. Love is not logical. If it were, we would all be able to follow the rules and live in a nice, neat, square box. Love is a hurricane or a tsunami. It hits you when you least expect it. And what you have to work out…is how to survive it.”

 photo f9557871-8255-41e2-a0f6-6cd7aa6c4ddf.jpg

I am so excited to see where things lead between Alexandre and Pearl. What new challenges will they face as they continue on their journey? Seeing things from his side and then watching them unfold just a little further than in Shades of Pearl…it was pretty magical, and I kind of loved it.

Before I start my review, I would like to begin with some random ramblings.

So here we go!

First off, I DON'T CARE FOR Hélène, I HIGHLY DISLIKE Indira, and I HATE HATE HATE Laura!!!

description

And oh, I think I found a kindred spirit in Alexandre's mom!!!!:

description

"Maman (Alexandre's mom) was reading a book in the living room, a romance, no doubt—she was hooked on them. She loved the dominant alpha male, the type that rode up on horseback and swept a lady off her feet and galloped off with her into the sunset, the lady protesting but secretly delighted that the hero wouldn’t take no for an answer. "

That sounds so much like me!! I love my books with dominant alpha males too!! What a coincidence!! :D

*Now, with that out of the way, on to the review!*
.......

Praise for the Author:

Arianne Richmonde does not disappoint in the first installment of two depicting Alexandre's side of the Pearl Trilogy. We see everything from a glimpse of his life before Pearl, meeting Pearl, and during his tumultuous courtship of Pearl.

The Story: Alexandre Chevalier, has everything a man could ever dream of: a flourishing business empire and an endless chain of women ripe for the picking.

Only, this all comes to a halt after he sets his eye on Pearl and begins to yearn for a more stable life instead of his dysfunctional, superficial one.

"More reminders, I supposed, that I had furnished this house with these luxuries. You can’t buy love. Only fear, respect, and resentment."

Brief Insight/Analysis: As you will read, the character of Alexandre is very complex and complicated. A self-proclaimed "nerd," Alexandre is a man that despite his cool, mature, and posh exterior lays a man who comes from a dark, gritty past which you will see glimpses of throughout the book.

You get to follow him where The Pearl Trilogy could not and get to dive into all parts of his life from: the business aspect, his family life, and even his ex-lovers.

description

My Thoughts and Feelings While Reading:

Honestly speaking, there were times where I felt being inside Alexandre's head was just mind baffling. Seriously. Where you saw things one way from Pearl, Alexandre views things much differently and with more vigor and intensity. From the get go he knows that he has to have Pearl and possess her (at least in bed if not more). He's also very alpha dominant and is ultra possessive of Pearl which I LOVE. Don't believe me? Well...

Exhibit 1: "Her golden legs were stretched out, scratched by the rocks; there were little bloody nicks all over her limbs. I liked that. I may not have fucked her yet, or even kissed her, but I felt I’d made my mark on her. Yes, just like the bulldozer guys, I was guilty. Even on Date One, I wanted others to know that Pearl Robinson was mine."

Exhibit 2: “I don’t want you involved with anyone else, is that clear? I want you for myself. I’m not a jealous man but I am possessive of my treasures. You and your tight, hot pearlette are both mine, do you understand?”

Exhibit 3: "I steered her forward while I walked behind her, my thumb still inside, her pussy all mine in my hand, while I simultaneously massaged her clit, her moisture hot on my fingers. I loved it. This woman was mine. All f*cking mine."

Exhibit 4: “You want to f*ck, Pearl?” I so nearly didn’t bother with sheathing myself with a condom. My instinct—like one of those soldiers using rape as a war weapon—was to impregnate her. Make her mine, even if it was against her will, and feel every juicy cell in her pussy without any barrier between us."

description

Aaah, Alexandre, can I have you for my birthday? It's in a couple of days!! Hehe.

description

In closing, at the end of the book I swear I was literally going to punch something.

description

I was so mad that I was holding my breath trying to reason with Arianne Richmonde as to why the book had to end like that. I will give Alexandre the benefit of the doubt since I'm pretty sure nothing will happen and if it did then he would have fessed up to Pearl about it in the Pearl Trilogy. Plus too, that evil, conniving home wrecker would have been an even more formidable force within the series and would have used this against Alexandre (and even Pearl).

Aish. So frustrated and excited at the same time. Weird combo yeah?

That aside, October come already!! I have to know what happens!!

I read The Pearl Trilogy and absolutely LOVED it. The Pearl Trilogy was written from the heroine’s, Pearl, point of view. Arainne Richmonde decided to release this series from the hero’s, Alexandra, point of view, and Pearl is the first installment of this two part story. This is the first time I've read a story that was re-told from the other main character’s point of view. It was very interesting learning Alexandre's thoughts and feelings. This book grabbed me every bit as much as the books in The Pearl Trilogy. I loved hearing Alexandre’s sexy thoughts and I felt it brought so much more sensuality to an already erotic read. We learned many more facts about him: how he became the man that he is, how all the other woman in his life acted and treated him and how much Pearl meant to him and why he fell so hard for her. I fell in love with him even more, because I KNEW what was on his mind. I have to say that Alexandre is one SEXY well-endowed man and he knows how to pleasure a woman. He goes beyond the normal to make sure she is pleasured in many ways before he takes his own release. This book is definitely a scorcher!

The ending left me anxious to find out how Alexandre is going to deal with all the woman who can't seem to get it through their thick skulls that he is spoken for. I'm happy that the wait for part two in this series won’t be too long. It should be released sometime in October 2013.

If you love your erotic romances with an older heroine and a sexy younger male hero, with a REALLY good story line, fantastic characters, twists and turns to keep your interest, then I HIGHLY recommend you read these books.

Book 1 ~ Shades of Pearl

Book 2 ~ Shadows of Pearl

Book 3 ~ Shimmers of Pearl

Or, you can also buy The Pearl Trilogy, the entire series in one book. When you’re done and find yourself wanting more like me, make sure you check out Pearl, part 1 of Alexandre’s point of view. I guarantee that he will heat you up as much as he did me…YUM!

Arianne Richmonde is one of my favorite fellow erotic romance authors, and I simply loved her Pearl Trilogy (see my review). Her newest installment, which tells the story from Alexandre's point of view, has only increased my admiration of this talented author's writing and storytelling abilities. I loved getting inside Alexandre's mind and having him fill in the "untold story." There are indeed two sides to every story. As if dreamy Alexandre didn't already set me on fire, I'm even more in love with him, knowing what a passionate and determined man he was in his pursuit of the one woman he wants for keeps and forever--Pearl. I especially loved learning the behind-the-scenes history of the precious pearls he gifted her as well as that of the diamond that became her ring. Moreover, I loved to hate his sister Sophie and ex-girlfriend Laura, five-fold! Oh, that Laura!!!! Trust me, with Arianne's impeccable writing, fully developed characters that will mesmerize you, and an intriguing, steamy storyline that will suck you in, you will not be able to put this book down. While Pearl stands on its own, I recommend you read the Pearl trilogy first for maximum enjoyment. 5-stellar etoiles from me! That's 5-stars in French!

It has been a while since I read the initial Pearl Trilogy (!) but reading this in Alexandre's POV, took me straight back.

I loved the way he was in the previous books, so to see behind that non stop dirty talker was a treat.

I remember feeling bereft at the end of number 2, and I guess we weren't far from it at the end of this instalment from Alexandre's stance.

I'm expecting number 5 to take us past the end of number 3, so I just hope it captures me a little more. I was a tad disappointed with 3 then and was left feeling I wanted more. I had then read a little update that Arianne had released, and it suitably sated my appetite. Here's hoping..

The Pearl Trilogy is among the very first series I read in the E-Rom genre. When I was looking for something to cure my three-month-long FSOG perpetual re-read, I turned to Arianne Richmonde to save me. Just when I didn’t think there would ever been room in my life for anyone but Christian Grey, along came Alexandre Chevalier! Christian who?

Alexandre Chevalier is pure, unadulterated, make-no-apologies Sex On Legs. He’s 25, he’s French, and he falls fast and hard for beautiful, 40-year-old, neo-virgin, Pearl Robinson. Through Alexandre, Pearl learns things about herself she never would have imagined. Her journey of self-discovery left me breathless and wondering where I could find my own Alexandre. And author Arianne Richmonde ties it all up with a beautiful HEA in book three that had me turning off my Kindle, sighing contentedly, and then going back to book one to start the journey all over again, because I just wasn’t ready to leave them yet.

The Pearl Trilogy is told from Pearl Robinson’s POV, so we experience everything from her perspective – from the moment she first lays eyes on Alexandre in a coffee shop in New York City, through the ups, downs, and challenges brought on by their respective mistrusts and miscommunications, as well as those caused by Alexandre’s meddling sister, Sophie, and finally to the beautiful HEA they both so deserved. Pearl views Alexandre as an intelligent, self-contained, self-confident, wise-beyond-his-years man. His sanguine (if not a bit aloof) disposition is intriguing and attractive. Through the evolution of their love for one another, Alexandre gives Pearl the confidence she needs to deal with a tragedy in her past that has haunted her for years, and he does it in such a loving, passionate and compassionate way, that by the end of the series, I was as in love with Alexandre as Pearl was. I suppose that’s why when I heard Ms. Richmonde was going to give us this beautiful love story from Alexandre’s POV, I simply couldn’t wait to read it.

Wow! Be careful what you wish for, because being in the headspace of Alexandre Chevalier is, in a word, complicated. Alexandre views nearly every encounter differently than Pearl does. There were times when I was actually a little confused at how vastly his observations juxtaposed hers. Was I even reading the same story? Honestly, I found myself becoming a little irritated with him on occasion, especially during their early romantic and physical encounters. He processes things so differently than I expected having only had Pearl’s characterization of him. Don’t worry, I still love him; I just now understand him on a different level.

Until the day he meets the beautiful Mrs. Robinson, Monsieur Chevalier has lived a difficult, troubled and complex existence. We learn a bit about his childhood in the first three books of the series, but I had no concept of how deep and damaging those experiences really were. Alexandre goes there, and he takes the reader with him. Before, I saw Alexandre as Pearl’s “knight” in shining armor. But their relationship is so much deeper – it’s a wholly symbiotic and mutually liberating connection. It’s true that Alexandre rescued Pearl, but she rescued him right back.

Arianne Richmonde gives us some deep and dark images of this enigmatic man. In some ways, Alexandre is still quite an adolescent – perhaps because of his difficult upbringing – while in other ways, he’s so sophisticated, cultured and mature, he could be twice his age. I wonder now if I know more about the man than Pearl even does. And we’re not finished yet. Pearl ended with a scene that had me holding my breath – one we were not privy to from Pearl’s perspective, because it didn’t involve her, so she didn’t know it happened. And the cunning Ms. Richmonde has the audacity to make us wait, (thankfully not too long), for the outcome.

Pearl was written to be read either before or after the Pearl Trilogy. There are minimal, if any spoilers. If you haven’t read books one, two and three, you can read Pearl first. Then, while you’re waiting for Pearl, book two, read the Pearl Trilogy in its entirety. It will fill in the gaps, and give you the story from her perspective. It will also help pass the time.

Five stars. Because Alexandre is worth every one of them!

I LOVE LOVE LOVE Alexandre! I have been looking forward to reading this book and I can say without a doubt…it was worth the wait! Hearing the love story of Pearl and Alexandre told from Alexandre’s POV just put it all together for me. To be able to know everything that he was thinking made me fall in love with him even more. You can read Pearl as a stand alone story but for me, reading The Pearl Trilogy beforehand made this book even better.

Alexandre is young, gorgeous and wealthy and isn’t really looking for a relationship. Though he starts singing a different tune when he meets the beautiful and sweet Pearl at a coffee shop. Sparks fly immediately and their love story begins. Oh yeah, did I mention that Alexandre is 25 years old and Pearl is 40? The way Alexandre describes her, she looks barely 30 and is absolutely stunning. I mentioned in my review of The Pearl Trilogy how I loved how Richmonde wrote a story about a younger man and an older woman…it was quite refreshing to say the least :)

Alexandre is not only charming but he is the epitome of a true gentleman. Due to Richmonde’s wonderful writing, I was able to see and feel just how much Alexandre loves and respects Pearl. Remembering what Pearl was thinking and feeling as well (from The Pearl Trilogy) made for a wonderful and exciting read. I honestly read this book in one sitting. I truly could not put it down.

Alexandre learned at an early age how a man should always treat a woman with the utmost respect. The only problem he has currently, is treating his sister with that same respect. She pushes him past his limits throughout the story and it was wonderful to see how he finally comes to blows with her. I have to say, I was pretty proud of him. But his sister is the LEAST of his concerns considering all the turmoil he has to deal with. No worries, I won’t be given any spoilers away ;)

Should I even go into the hot and steamy sex scenes??? Umm…YES!!! I was absolutely melting while reading about all the wicked wicked things Alexandre was thinking and doing to Pearl. WOW!!!

So…I guess you can gather by my review that Pearl is a book that everyone should definitely read. I would suggest reading The Pearl Trilogy first but it is not a necessity. Trust me though, it really made for a more intense story knowing what Pearl was thinking and feeling while reading all the emotions that Alexandre was feeling. I came to realize that the two of them are just about perfect for one another. Oh and by the way….Richmonde leaves you waiting with bated breath for the second part of Pearl to be released! She is killing me….in a good way though ;)

Enjoy…I know I did!

4 STARS!!!!!

First, I was one of those wishing to get Alexandre's POV and now here it is.........I do recommend that you read "The Pearl Trilogy" prior to this book so you are not missing out on parts of the story that are skimmed over in this book.

The story according to Alexandre Chevalier.....

During The Pearl Trilogy, I absolutely fell in LUST with the SEXY HOT Frenchman but now we delve more into who is. Alexander did have a few chapters in the trilogy but now we are full on. He begins telling his story about how he became a billionaire at such a young age and the first time he meets Pearl. I absolutely loved this part.....now knowing what was going through his mind.

"Why I was so taken with this New Yorker, apart from her obvious good looks, I wasn't quite sure - she had a quirky kind of charm. I like her. And I decided right there and then - I didn't just want to f*ck Pearl, I wanted to get to know her, too."

He leads us on a journey of his childhood and relationships with his dad, mom and sister and of course all the CRAZY women he has/had in his life that will not take "NO" for an answer. Alexander has a reputation as a playboy and has flaunted it but now he is ready to settle down but so many people and things continue to cause havoc. Now with his POV, we see how he struggles to make the right decisions but honestly there were many times I just wanted to slap the sexy man......Especially when it comes to that crazy Laura.

"Here I was, embroiled with all these different women all wanting a piece of me, yet all I wished for was just one woman, one stable relationship, just one person who would make sense to me."

In "The Pearl Trilogy" we learned all about Pearl and her quirky self and now we see that this is what Alexander loved the most. This is his journey on finding love with Pearl and trying to fight to keep it from falling apart with many obstacles which happened to be all the women in his life. Pearl has her quirky issues that makes this story even much better and at times very funny.

This is a "MUST READ"!!!! And I can't wait for the rest of Alexander's POV!!!!!

Awesome Job Arianne!!!!!!

I am usually hesitant about reading the other person's POV for the same story but this is Alexandre Chevalier we are talking about. I absolutely loved him in The Pearl Trilogy so I had to get inside his brain and see what he is all about. He did not disappoint. He never does (Mmmm...I love you, Alexandre). This book made me LOVE him even more. He's so damn sexy and seeing the story from his point of view just made this trilogy even more AMAZING. Plus, I liked finding out what happened when he was away on his trips. Geez! Those women are CRAZY!! I knew Laura was a nut case but finding out more details about what she was up to made me HATE her even more. I HATE YOU, LAURA!!! Yeah, there's a cliffhanger at the ending. I cannot wait for part 2 of Pearl. Come on, October!! Get here already!!
All I gotta say is Pearl is a lucky woman and I am so JEALOUS. Knowing how Alexandre's brain ticks, his attitude, his thoughts, his love for Pearl makes him even HOTTER than ever. If there were more men like Mr. Chevalier in the real world then there would be many, many happy women. I would be first in line for some Alexandre that's for sure. Just buy the book and read it already!! We are talking about Alexandre Chevalier!! Enough said!!

I started to read this series after a lady i love reviewed it (Nelle L'Amour)ive read a few books ive seen her review or comment on and this was not a disappointment.....100% Perfection, i LOVE a book that gives the flip side POV.....it kinda made me feel different to wards how i did feel about Alexandre Chevalier, but the more i got in to it, the more i tilted back to liking him.......

I personally think all books like this should do a flip side....but i know not everyone would agree.

Pearl is Alexandre's POV of the relationship between him and Pearl. I could not wait to read this one since I loved the trilogy. in this book we learn what Alexandre thought and all that he would do to keep the woman he loved. The development of the characters is more meaningful with the addition of this book to the series. You will want to read the Pearl trilogy first to help you understand this storyline. I loved this book. Can't wait to read the last book in the series.

Wild!!

Alexandre & Pearl are a bit crazy, flip flopping all over. She's upset then he is, they're wonderful when having sex, but feelings screw them all up. Well, that & other's need to manipulate them. I have a headache! Let's see how the last book goes.

Saffron - I'll start off by saying that I did not read the Pearl trilogy before diving into this one. I admit it.

Noemi - I've been a big fan of this series. I couldn't wait to read Alexandre POV.

Jillian - I enjoyed the Pearl series! Alexandre is so hot!

Noemi - Oh Yeah!!!

Saffron - He had some good points. He definitely was a pursuer.

Noemi - Alpha-male to the core

Jillian - I love how he took control of the situation.

Saffron - Given that I had no background, I couldn't tell if Pearl needed an Alpha or not. She didn't say no though.

Jillian - Pearl pissed me off when she kept running and making excuses to not be with him.

Saffron - I definitely didn't like her during those moments. Made me think he could do better.

Noemi - Pearl really did need someone strong to break thru her issues with her past marriage.

Jillian - She sure did and Alexandre was just the man to do it.

Noemi - I found it really interesting how two people in the same situation remember the events differently. Arianne did a great job with that.

Saffron - I know I didn't like Sophie

Jillian - I did not like Sophie either. She was such a Mega Bitch! The way she talked to Pearl was awful!

Noemi - She is defiantly not my favorite person in the world. She was so over barring and controlling.

Jillian - She was so jealous and possessive over him. It was a little much.

Saffron - Those conversations weren't in this book. Just seeing how she acted in general was bad enough.

Noemi - No but you kind of get how she was when she called Alexandre to tell him about the background check she did on Pearl.

Jillian - She just couldn't leave well enough alone. She had to make sure she had complete control.

Noemi - I think that with their background Sophie never wanted to feel out of control over any aspect of her life.

Saffron - So did Laura. Gross. No excuse for her either.

Jillian - Oh My God Laura! That is a whole new crazy!

Noemi - The depths of Laura's craziness is fathomless!!! Seriously that woman should have been locked up!!

Jillian - She needed something. She was legit a lunatic!

Noemi - All the women in Alexandre's life were a little off there rocker. Even though Pearl had her issues she was the most stable women for him.

Saffron - He needed to stay away for sure.

Noemi - Oh Saffron you don't know the half of it.

Jillian- They were all so obsessed with him. Well, they were obsessed with a certain part of him. He was a man who knew how to use his tools.

Saffron - Even having read what I did, I wouldn't want him near those women. Even Pearl drove me nuts. Idk if there was too much estrogen or what?

Jillian - Yeah she got a little out of hand there for awhile

Noemi - What did you ladies think of his "code"??

Saffron - Decent set of rules but not always practical.

Jillian - I guess everyone has to have rules. He had a whole code which I thought showed his list making obsession.

Noemi - Personally I wouldn't mind have some of his code tattooed on the forehead of some men I've known lol

Jillian - I hear ya there. Some need to get a clue.

Saffron - I liked him less for it, I guess. I've known so many players and That just struck me how full of himself he was. Even as a nerd.

Jillian - One thing about Alexandre is he knew how to treat a woman. He never really liked to hurt their feelings either.

Noemi - See now I didn't take his code as him being a player but that it showed that he respected women and didn't think they should just be used.

Saffron - Yeah but that's how he got all messed up with all them. Instead of trying to be nice all the time, dump those wasting your time.

Jillian - He finally saw the light when he met someone who loved him for real and he didn't want to ruin or lose that.

Noemi - Well I really liked reading Alexandre's POV and can't wait for part 2 to come out. Arianne killed me with the ending of part 1!!!!! It's a 4.5 stars for me.

Jillian - I enjoy this book! I give it 4 Stars

Saffron - I just thought it was okay. 3 stars for me. Even without the background, I didn't feel a connection to any of the characters and wasn't impressed by Alexandre. No swooning for me. But I finished it and I'll probably read the next one because of this ending.

Arianne Richmonde’s Pearl Trilogy is one of my favorite “billionaire meets regular girl” love story. I love the unique premise–the billionaire Alexandre Chevalier is in his twenties and the object of his desire is a 40 year old woman named Pearl Robinson. The book is told in the Alexandre’s point of view.

description

As I read The Pearl Trilogy, I was intrigued by what might be going through Alex’s head. He’s young, he’s French, and he has particular tastes. What experiences molded him? Why does he love the things he loves? We also get a good look at his sister Sophie and what makes her tick. We also get to see Alexandre’s ex, Laura and what a conniving character she is.

Alexandre Chevalier may only be 25, but his life has already been filled with the same experiences of a man much older. Alex is confident in himself, never over the top cocky. He is a truly a student of his past, learning from his experiences and mistakes. Coupled with Alex’s “code for treating women”, he is even more desirable to women. Arianne smoothly fills in the gaps with Alex’s exploits with his HookedUp business, dealing with his overbearing sister Sophie, and navigating all the women who throw themselves at Alex.

Arianne’s male voice feels very authentic. Alex’s demeanor is matter of fact and direct. There is no muddling of his feelings like there usually is with a female character. Alex feels what he feels and goes after what he wants, never second guessing himself. He pinpoints Pearl’s personality almost immediately, “poised and elegant, yet unsure of herself. There was a childish, vulnerable quality about her…” He really sees her, recognized her nature in a very short period of time. He doesn’t seem surprised to feel this close connection to her so quickly. I like that there isn’t any of that silly back and forth that happens when a character is decided whether they are the right one. Alex knows immediately!

Alex’s sister Sophie is a complicated woman. In the Pearl Trilogy, you get glimpses of her personality, but never get the full picture. In Pearl, you see what she is really like and what has shaped her prickly personality. She and Alex have a very tumultuous upbringing, forcing them to flee their home and live a very uncommon life. Sophie becomes Alex’s protector, something she refuses to give up. This makes for a complicated relationship between she and Pearl. She doesn’t trust Pearl and lets that be knows. I was often frustrated with Sophie in the Pearl Trilogy. Even as Alex explained to Pearl about her personality, I still didn’t get it. Frankly, her b3ehavior toward Pearl pissed me off. Reading Pearl, I have a better understanding of Sophie and her actions.

In the Pearl Trilogy, Alexandre’s absences weren’t fully explained. We get those explanations in this book. It was so aggravating! I can’t believe the different types of women that are in Alex’s life. I found myself seriously jealous for Pearl. From the crazy ex-models, to the Indian movies stars, and the insane ex-girlfriends, I’m glad Pearl didn’t see this part of his life. I don’t think she would have coped very well. Fortunately, we see Alex work to rid himself of these women.

description

The sex scenes were seriously hot! I love learning how Alexandre explanation for his pet name for Pearl’s lady bits. And his very male way of thinking when they have sex is so very erotic. He has the parts and know exactly what to do with them, explaining exactly what a woman wants and then slowly taking his time. Scorching hot!

I really enjoyed Pearl by Arianne Richmonde. Her male POV is authentic and entertaining. I really felt as if I was in Alexandre’s head and found myself forgetting a woman wrote the book. I love the that all the plot lines are filled with this book and I can’t wait to read the second part. I give Pearl by Arianne Richmonde 4.5 out of 5 stars!

Review:

In Pearl we get into the beautiful and complex mind of Alexandre. If you have read The Pearl Trilogy than you already know and love this sexy young French billionaire. He had me under his spell early on in Shades of Pearl (book 1 of The Pearl Trilogy) and I couldn’t wait to get his POV.

First I would like to mention that although it is not necessary to read The Pearl Trilogy first, I highly recommend it. I cannot say how the character development would feel if I just read Pearl because I had already read the other side of the story—and could not unknow the characters to tell you. But Mrs. Richmonde’s writing is expressive and highly detailed so I’m sure it could be enjoyed as a standalone.

Alexandre *sigh* is so unbelievably dream worthy. And, he is a veritable god in bed. Considering this is an Erotica novel, we get to know him very intimately. *swoon*

I put my hand on her bare thigh and let it rest there, tapping my finger very lightly to the beat of the music. She whimpered. Very, very quietly. Almost imperceptibly but I caught it. I had her. But I still wouldn’t fuck her that night. No, I’d make her wait.

I loved being in his head. I was privy to all his insecurities—for which I didn’t even know he had any, and his overwhelming passion and love for Pearl. He was such a tortured soul, but a beautiful and pure one too. He was loyal and honest to a fault, getting taken advantage of by the many women in his life for this reason. And that is a perspective we don’t get to see in The Pearl Trilogy—his other women. No he is not a cheater, but he has slept with so many women that the ones from his past are creeping up after he falls for Pearl.

You see, women like the fantasy of being fucked. Rough. Hard. With no mercy. They even like to imagine being tied up, whipped and chastised. But in reality, they’re just looking for one true thing.
And that one true thing’s called love.
It’s easy for a guy to fuck. Easy to play the rough and tough bastard that women often fall for. What’s hard is to not be a bastard. Not to be a jerk.

Then there was Laura :( I knew from The Pearl Trilogy what a horrendous person Laura was, but wow—we really get a closer look at her in this book. And if possible she is worse than I already thought.

I am NOT a fan of cliffhangers. And Pearl has a doozy—I mean one of the worst I have ever come across. We are in the middle of an “edge of my seat” scene and BAM—to be continued. I was like NOOOOOO!!! And you would think I already know what happens but I don’t. This was not mentioned in the previous books, and it’s killing me not knowing!!!!

The second half of the story will be releasing next month so at least I don’t have to wait long to find out what happened.

(I did put that it was part of a series...and technically I would say that it is. BUT I am not exactly sure how she is going to order it, I put that it would be number 4. That only is because I believe that all 3 of the other books should be read first to really appreciate this book, to really understand what is going on and not feel lost.)

I know that for me I have come to understand that when reading a book that is redone in another point of view, I will more than likely feel disappointed because it just feels like I am reading the same book all over again.

This book did have a few of those moments where I felt like okay I read this already. BUT that is just going to happen because well it is the book redone in another point of view, therefore we will get parts of the first book since well it is the original. I did have time since I had read the first book so I didn't get that much. I did absolutely enjoy his point of view. We get to see how he was thinking as well as SO many other things that were going on when he wasn't with Pearl. I do have to say although we did get parts that were in the first book but there is so much more in this one. So much that helps to explain why he is the way he is with her.

Once again there was drama! Oh how I was looking forward to that! I would have to say that I was not disappointed in that. But how it ended?! Oh my! I already knew I didn't like a certain someone because of book two. But man!! Oh it was good I thought! I am usually not a huge fan of rewrites of books even if it is from another point of view because like I said it is repetitive. Then I run into a hand full of authors who just do it so well. I would have to say that she would be one of them! I was hesitant to read this only because I have read some that just were a big disappointment this to me was not!

I am looking forward to the next just to see how things go down on his side. I know how things happened with her, and there are parts of the books where we go without seeing him for a while. So it will be fun to learn what goes on in those times! I am very intrigued and happy that I came across this series. Thanks to someone who sent me a message asking me when the third book was coming out. That is all it took. :)

Pearl by Arianne Richmond is told in Alexandre's POV. I am a big fan of reading books in a different POV. I enjoy being able to get in another characters head. Alexandre's story is a lot different then Pearl's. Plus it was nice that it didn't follow the first book to the tee, Alexandre's perception didn't follow Pearl's and why would it. They are two different characters with two totally different views on what happened. They weren't together the entire time and I liked being alone with Alexandre and having him all to myself. Another good thing is that you don't have to read the first book in the Pearl Trilogy. This can be read as a stand alone. I would recommend you read it at some point because the story is quite good.

Alexandre is a billionaire and his social media sight hooked up is very successful. He has no problem finding a women because they seem to follow him wherever he goes. Once he meets Pearl he is determined to have her and once he gets to know her he wants way more. Pearl being somewhat older then him doesn't deter him at all. They have plenty of ups and downs and Alexandre somewhat tumultuous past may hinder their happiness. Pearl and Alexandre definitely have an explosive chemistry like no other.

I have to say that Alexandre's is far from a complicated man. In this first book in his point of view we find that he enjoys the ladies. Pearl isn't any different in the very beginning and once sparks start to fly he can't help but be addicted to her. We see how Pearl's emotions affected his feelings for her and that was a very important part of this story. She steals his heart and falls in love with him. It is at times heart wrenching to see. When he finally claims her as his it is such an intimate moment that you can't help but fall in love with them.

I enjoyed this book as much as and maybe even more then the Trilogy. I would recommend this book and suggest you read the Trilogy because this really is a series you don't want to miss.

*4.5 Stars*

There are two sides to every story and Alexander is telling his side...

A gem... as expected.

What a fantastic story. It was great to see Alexander's side.
I'm always a little apprehensive about books that are told by a different characters' POV because you just never know what you are going to get.
BUT... I didn't need to worry over this one because it was just great. We get to see the story through Alexander's eyes and let me tell you it is not what I was expecting AT ALL. It's so much better. I went completely crazy over Alexander in The Pearl Trilogy and I fell even more crazy in love with him in Pearl. His quirky sense of humor and determination were even more evident this time around. His sister was just as bitchy if not more in this book. And let me tell you a little something about Laura his ex-girlfriend... She is BATSHIT CRAZY!!! Yep totally certifiable in my opinion. So interesting to read. Once again I found myself thinking how interesting it is to see the two sides to the story. Things weren't happening as Pearl thought they were...

I LOVED the fact that Alexander was aware that there was a considerable age difference between them and he still very much wanted to pursue Pearl, it's so refreshing to read a story like that. You don't see that too often and it makes the story so original. Arianne is one heck of storyteller but we already knew that.

You don't necessarily have to read The Pearl Trilogy first, but I suggest that you do because you get a better sense of how things happen in perspective to both stories.

I can't wait to read Part Two of this story and see how the rest of the events unfold.

First off, I implore you to read the Shades of Pearl Trilogy prior to reading this book as it skims over certain parts that are explained in the trilogy. You will enjoy it so much more if you do!!!

What is not to love about the 25-year old Frenchman, Alexandre Chevalier!?! He is dynamic, adventurous and sinful! While this is the love story of Alexandre and Pearl, it is something new from his point of view (POV) and it is fresh and HOT, not word for word repetition. I remember so much of their story and Adrianne has done a magnificent job of keeping the same storyline moving, but has added new dimension and backstory about Alexandre that wasn't as prevalent in the original books. I enjoyed seeing the unknown side to him and his struggles. His love for Pearl was always evident, but the depth of it wasn't fully understood. His POV digs deeper into his childhood and relationship with his sister, mother and niece. He also has a few female skeletons in his closet that don't like to be shut away in the closet for long. I had slight heart palpitations along the way, however, Alexandre was worth it! It was a super HOT read and the sex in this book was off the charts. While I know how the original trilogy ends, I'm so entwined in his POV that I'm anxious for October and MORE MORE MORE!! I am not a spoiler reviewer, but will warn youth at there is a cliffhanger. Don't miss out on this amazingly hot and smoldering read...you will love it!

Well where to begin with this as you know I have already reviewed the Pearl Trilogy and gave it an amazing review that was before I got to read the delight that is Pearl the story from the other side meaning the super sexy story from Alexandre Chevalier view point.

Reading it from a man's point of view is interesting especially as he explains Pearl as beautiful. The French man comes well and truly alive be it when he seems like he is giving off double messages when they are going on there first date and checking her out quietly when they are rock climbing.

This book also shows you the worry he goes through when he feels he has lost her for good when his sister Sophie Dumas tells lies to Pearl in a phone call which in Pearl leaving and not turning back

When this happens he realises there must be a very big gesture and for most women or at least somebody like me he would definitely win me over turning up in a fireman's outfit while climbing the fire escape to Pearls apartment.

I could rave about this book all day but I would give far to much away and wouldn't want to ruin it for the reader. All I will say this is one very hot relationship in and out the bedroom a most definite read with the cold winter night coming in.

Hope you enjoy as much as me

What can I say? I am a sucker for the male POV on books ALWAYS! I always enjoy it more, we always learn more things than the females POV. We learned soo many tiny details we missed from reading Pearls POV. Alexandre is one kooky and complicated guy. I loved learning all these small details about him we didn't get or find out in Pearls stories. We always knew he was insanely jealous, but we got to live out these thoughts and characteristics in his book. I simply loved every minute of this book. Seeing Laura from his eyes and we got to see how crazy she was and to drug him, ugh, Sophie, how he see's Pearl as a woman,( LOVE HIM!)learning more about Elodie, Indira and her craziness, how he feels for Rex and his interactions with her mother and step-father, this entire book was beyond amazing and I am so proud of Ari for how she did this book and took her time and gave us Alexandre's story, it needed to be told and we got it. She blew every expectation I had for this book out of the water and I cannot wait for book 2! I didn't think Alexandre could get any more sexy, but he is so amazing and the puuurfect book boyfriend!
must read all!!!

"That necklace was made for you, Pearl. Nobody else has the right to wear it."

"Torture can lead to heaven."

"We've played enough silly games, it's time to get serious."

Alexandre Chevalier is a force to be reckoned with. Pearl is an excellent read and definitely not the same story so let's just get that out of the way. Not all POVs are the same story. You find out why he's the man he is, the darkness of his and Sophie's lives, why Sophie is so protective of him. It's so enlightening to know all of his thoughts about Pearl from the first time they met, how taken he was with her as the person she was, not just her beauty. He loved her intelligence but most of all her independence kept him wanting to know what made her tick.

And what a considerate, explosive, intense lover he is! His past taught him to make love to a woman like she was a fragile but precious jewel, allowing her to shine and never fade from his attentiveness. How many men in the world are like that?

AND you get to see the real evilness of Laura BEFORE Pearl knocks on her door in London after sitting on that bench.

By all means this book was an eye opener to say the very least. It should be devoured, savored slowly as Alexandre would Pearl on a sweltering summer night. Enjoy!

4 1/2 stars! This book is HOT!
I love books told by a different character’s POV so I immediately loved the story as told by Alexandre. Even if you’ve read The Pearl Trilogy, PEARL is still full of surprises. And if you loved Alexandre before, you will absolutely fall in love with him a little more after reading his story!
There is no glossing over the age difference between Pearl and Alexandre. I LOVED reading how Alexandre was insanely attracted to Pearl and how he actively pursued her. This is a very different twist on the usual contemporary romance story. I also loved reading Alexandre’s perspective on the real reason Pearl was in the coffee shop on the day they met.
Although you don’t have to read The Pearl Trilogy first, you will have a clearer picture of the characters and where they fit in the series. Plus they are great books!
There’s lots of smoking hot sex in Pearl plus an ending that will leave you anxiously awaiting the next installment of this story. I can’t wait to read Part Two of Alexandre’s story!
