This is a combined volume that includes the first two books in the bestselling Rescue Me series. MASTERS AT ARMS remains available as a separate FREE download, but the author has combined it with NOBODY'S ANGEL and is offering the combined volume at a significant discount and has removed the second book from being sold separately.
BONUS MATERIAL in the March 2014 Kallypso Masters has added the PLAYLIST of music that inspired her as she wrote about the first three couples mentioned in this combined volume, as well as a GLOSSARY OF TERMS and a CAST OF CHARACTERS in these books in the saga.
MASTERS AT ARMS (book 0.5) begins the journey of three men, each on a quest for honor, acceptance, and to ease his unspoken pain. Their paths cross at one of the darkest points in their lives. As they try to come to terms with the aftermath--forging an unbreakable bond--will they ever truly become masters of their own fates? Or would fate become masters of them?
NOBODY'S ANGEL (book 1): Marc d’Alessio might own a BDSM club with his fellow military veterans, Adam and Damian, but he keeps all women at a distance. When Marc rescues Angelina Giardano from a disastrous first BDSM experience at his club, however, an uncharacteristic attraction leaves him torn between his safe, but lonely world, and a possible future with his angel.
Angelina leaves BDSM behind only to have her dreams plagued by her Italian angel in a wolf mask. When she meets Marc at a bar in her hometown, she can’t shake the feeling she knows him, but has no idea why he reminds her of her angel. Marc’s search-and-rescue partner, widower Luke Denton, believes Angelina is the angel his wife promised to send him, convincing Marc she’s meant for Luke. While trying to protect Angelina from her abusive ex, though, Marc once again finds her at the Masters at Arms Club where she turns his safe, controlled world upside down.
The books in the ongoing Rescue Me saga are not stand-alone stories and should be read in order. Characters recur to deal with further issues in their lives as the saga continues and each book builds upon all previous ones.
CONTENT This story might cause triggers while reading. Please read the Author's Notes at the beginnings of each book in this collection before purchasing. Everyone who knows me knows that BDSM books aren't really my thing unless they are attached to a strong storyline so I'm not sure how I ended up reading Kallypso Master's Rescue Me series without a recommendation but I am now on book 3 and still going strong!!!!
I started reading the series with trepidation but I must admit that I am kinda enjoying it. The characters are interesting and after having their backgrounds laid out for you in "Masters at Arms" you are hooked and need to know more about where each story is heading.
The three main characters Adam, Marc and Damian all come together in the Marines and after a harrowing experience they all decide to work together in order to put their demons to rest.
The second book "Nobody's Angel" focuses on Marc's story and apart from the expected BDSM scenes, which I read with a hand over my eyes (yes, I know I'm a hopeless prude)I really enjoyed his story with Angie. I have to admit though, I'm particularly looking forward to Adam's story with Karla which comes up next.
Who'd have known that I would become intrigued with such a series. It goes to show that you should give every book/series a chance before making up your mind!!!!
📗 Masters at Arms I am so glad I reread this book. It is actually a lot more than I remembered! There is not 1 but 5 stories. #1 Adam #2 Damian #3 Marc #4 They Bond #5 The Club
🛑🔞There are very graphic and dark scenes in book #2. Be aware. There is also a very detailed graphic military war zone scene in book #4. Be prepared.
All the stories are well written. The main characters are well developed. There are adult intimate scenes in book #2 & #3. All the stories are for adults with adult language, etc.
I highly recommend this series to lovers of Adult Erotic Romance.
Angelina's thoughts in Nobody's Angel sometimes felt repetitive as did some of the areas about other characters. That said, I still loved it. The erotica and intimate scenes are still scorching, melt your kindle, Lord Have Mercy Fan Me, HOT! After all the Dark Erotica I have read, it was nice to come back to SSC BDSM. The way it is meant to be. The rules of Trust and what a real D/s relationship should be.
🎶 Last time I read this series I only made it to bk#3 then got sidetracked with other things. This time around I am 'Going All The Way'!
I don't remember finding any editing errors. The stories are extremely well written. The flow is mostly fast paced.
I honestly think these are the first books I've read in a long time that have made me think, made me shudder, made me cry, made me happy and laugh and has stuck with me and probably will for awhile. I love these characters, their strength, their acceptance of each others flaws and the fact that they would do anything for each other unconditionally.
I have to be honest... I downloaded these stories because they were free. I read the story tag line "Dominant men and the Women who bring them to their knees" and thought, eh, I enjoyed the sorry line in FSOG, why not see where this goes. Yes, the books' main focus is about BDSM however, it not what the story ends up being about. Kallypso Masters shows us a side I would never have ever thought existed. Usually when I read a book that claims to be into BDSM, someone pulls out a restraint and whip and *BAM!* we're into BDSM! This so NOT the case in Masters at Arms and Nobody's Angel! Even though I'm not in the lifestyle or even claim to know much about it, I know there has got to be more to it than just restraints and using a riding crop. Kallypso Masters expertly takes you through all the different aspects of this lifestyle by explaining everything through each character.
Each of the main characters practice or had practiced a different part of the lifestyle, everything from just bedroom play to consensual 24/7 slavery. She explains what got them to that point, why it's healthy and even cathartic for certain individuals and how as long as everything is talked about, agreed upon, limits are respected, some people can even thrive. I started reading the series with trepidation but I must admit that I am kinda enjoying it.

DNF: Let's be VERY clear here. The first meeting between Angie and Marc is sexual assault and a consent violation. Marc rescues Angie (a complete stranger to him) from a scene with her boyfriend Allen when he realises that Angie is too deep in subspace to safe word. Marc then curls up with an unresponsive, naked Angie on a chair to give her aftercare without permission and ends up giving her an orgasm through penetrating her with his fingers.
There was no negotiation attempted. Even if there had been, people that deep in subspace are not at a sane point to consent to things not previously negotiated. Touching her sexually while she was unable to consent or even understand what is really happening (which we know because we get her thoughts first hand) is sexual assault.
That is why I DNFd. As a real life bdsm event organiser I could not get past my horror at the author using that setup to introduce the hero and heroine of the book.
Heroes and blood brothers bond together after suffering the trauma of battle. In their search for recovery, they open a BDSM club in order to pursue their shared interest in the alternative lifestyle. This is the basis of the Rescue Me Saga.
I'll review the two tales, Masters at Arms and Nobody's Angel separately.
Masters at Arms
I began reading this story because of the high ratings it's received. Those high ratings made me continue during the multiple times I was tempted to stop. Masters at Arms, in a word, was disturbing. I understand the author was setting up future events, but this short tale was tough to get through.
First we met Adam, a 42 year old Marine in a bus station. He helps Karla, a 16 year old runaway, from the clutches of a predatory pimp. While I liked both characters, and nothing inappropriate happens, there is an underlying sexual tension that just felt inappropriate, considering her age and presence of mind. I was pleased Adam rejected her advances.
Then we met Damian and Savannah. Damian is a good, working class kid, trying to make his rent. Meeting Savannah, however, made me cringe. A beautiful young girl, raped by her father and sold into sadistic slavery, it was very hard to continue reading. The poor girl was tortured by grown men, but thankfully rescued by Damian. Hours after he saved her, however,
Then there was Marc. He'd lost a brother in the Marines, and feels his life is out of control. He enlists in the Navy, and before he knows it, he's deployed with his brother's old unit.
The men seemed to have a nice bond, but the sudden mention of bondage at times was a little odd. I'll admit, I don't know anything about the BDSM world, so perhaps being so open about it isn't unusual, but it was a connection between the three, for sure.
My interest was definitely peaked when Karla and Adam were unexpectedly thrown in the same orbit again toward the end of Masters at Arms. Now that she was grown and much more experienced, the "ick" factor was gone and I wanted to see where the two would go. Unfortunately for me, Nobody's Angel revolved around Marco, and only used Adam and Karla as supporting characters.
Nobody's Angel
Knowing nothing about BDSM going into this book, I will say I learned a lot about the lifestyle during the course of the story. More than anything, those lessens taught me I am not a fan of it. I expected to find out how Adam and Karla dealt with their past and their reintroduction to each other, but instead this story revolved around Marco and Angelina (and another new character, Luke).
Marco was the character I connected the least with during Masters at Arms. While he was introduced, and was and integral part of the battle with Damian and Adam, most of the introduction dealt with Adam and Damian's bond and recovery from trauma. To shift to Marco and a new character was jarring, and unfortunately pulled me out of the story.
I'd like to review the story apart from bondage, but I don't feel it's possible. Perhaps it's my misunderstanding of the lifestyle, but I didn't feel any love between Marc and Angelina.
The story was left hanging at the end, as well. The situation with Marc and Angel wasn't resolved, and the last chapter or so was again focused on Adam and Karla. I appreciate they're the focus of the next book, but I wanted one story to be resolved before we moved on to the next one.
While I initially liked Adam and Karla, I was turned off from reading the next book, considering the way Adam treated Karla during Nobody's Angel.
Staff sergeant Adam Montague is a marine who retires and sets up a BDsM club. He encourages two of his soldiers (sorry) marines to join him; the one he thinks of as the closest thing he has to a son Damian Orlando, and Marc d’Alessio the medic who patched Damian up when he lost his leg before being hit by shrapnel himself. These men have physical scars as well as mental ones. Two weeks after his wife died of cancer, Adam rescued a runaway at a bus station and escorted her home. He’s never forgotten Kayla, or she him. Damian also rescued a girl screaming in a hotel room. Savannah and he spent almost a day together before she returned to her father. He channels his loss into sadism. And Marc? He has a chip on his wide shoulders that he’s the son who should have died in Iraq, not his brother. His Search and Rescue partner Luke Denton, has been using his carpentry skills to make some items for the club. The club they own is called Masters at Arms and it’s very popular. *** It’s kind of interesting that more than a few of the experiences here are how it can go very badly wrong, rather than erotic tellings of how it ought to be. There are those, but the author doesn’t want it to be seen as erotica. Sighs…
I am glad the second story is here because I would have been pretty unhappy with where story 0.5 left off.
There is a lot of 9/11 mentions. I’m not American and I baulk at that, but I understand it is a military men story. I know these are setups for later books but I kind of feel that nobody got a happy ending here. Thinking about it overnight, I’ve marked it down. 2 stars
Masters At Arms - Rescue Me Saga 0.5 I got this one free on amazon. I liked this introduction to the Rescue Me Saga. But some of it was hard to read, especially the part about Savannah. The three men suffered in their personal lives and during their time in the service when they were at war. But this story is about hope too. Hope for surviving anything and the hope for happiness.
Rescue Me Saga #1 I got this one free on amazon. Marc was working at his BDSM club and caught a man abusing a woman. He put a stop to it. But he was so attracted to the woman, Angelina. But he is too messed up in the head right now. A month late he and his partner, Luke, are on a search and rescue mission and they are in a bar the night after the rescue. He sees Angie there. She comes over to their table to ask a favor. The guy she was with that night, Allen, has just come in the bar and she is scared of him. Would the men mind if she sits with them for awhile. Of course they say yes. Marc still feels a pull to her. She feels safe with him but she doesn't know why. She hardly remembers that night because she had disconnected her mind from what was happening. Allen approaches her at the bar and gets thrown out. The men come back to her place after the bar and stay the night, partly to protect her and partly because they want her. She invites them for dinner the next night and Allen shows up. He punches her but she fights back and breaks his nose. The guys arrive and take care of her. Marc calls the sheriff and get an order of protection for her. They decide to take her back to Denver with them. Angie is attracted to both men but Marc is the one she chooses. Will they have fun exploring his lifestyle? What will happen with Allen?
Nobody's Angel - I really liked this book. The characters are very strong. The story centers around them and the sex club and that storyline are a sub-plot.
Admittedly, while FSoG introduced me to the outskirts of reading kink, Kallypso Masters reeled me in with her well written, well researched books that also contain BDSM. These books are more than just kink though, they focus on the relationships between the characters rather than just the sex. While hot and sizzling sex scenes are a bonus, it's lovely to get lost in a world where you get to know the characters from the very beginning. How the guys meet, how each of the partners meet and how their relationships evolve through each book. The individual books don't just focus on the one couple like a lot of other series books do. Each book has the primary story on the couple for that book but you get to see the couples/individuals around them growing and evolving too. Learning how the men and women cope with the big upheavals in their lives: the PTSD, lost family members, shame and guilt. (On more than one occasion I filled the bin with tissues.) The emotions wrought are real. The research that has gone into these books is real. And the information comes from people who have lived through these things.
I began reading this story because of the high ratings it has received. Those high ratings made me continue during the MULTIPLE TIMES I tempted to stop. Alas, it was really tough for me to get through.
Didn’t like the 3 short stories in the beginning. Just as you get into the first story (about a 16 and 42 year old – disturbing!!), the second begins and I found it difficult to adjust.
I also didn’t like Damian and Savannah’s story. How the hell do you go from tortured/almost raped to having hot sex with someone that you know for less than 2 days? Some of the dialogue I also found cheesy, like “his rod and her nips”…WTF?
Mark, Luke and Angie’s story was also dodgy. I found it difficult to connect with either of the three. The two men did not seem committed to a relationship with Angie really; they contradicted themselves around every corner. They have sex with her together, but can’t stand the thought of not having her for themselves individually??? Again…..WTF???
Although I like Kallypso’s writing style, I’m so turned off that I will not be reading the next book in the series unfortunately.
I read a lot of BDSM books but this one I just couldn't get into.. at all. There wasn't a whole lot of plot line to it. The Novella had more of an impact on me then Nobody's Angel. I liked reading the back story on who the 3 men came together but Nobody's Angel lacked a lot for me.
First off, there was nothing wrong that I could find with this book. It was just not my cup of joe. I didn't finish the book for reasons of my own. However, what I had read (I got to the second chapter/story/section?) was written well and brings you into the story. I just didn't want to go into this story. So...It would be a good book for someone who does want to go into this book. Good Luck
First, we get introduced to the Masters at Arms - Marc, Adam and Damian. We see what led them together to a fateful day in Fallujah where limbs and lives were lost, leaving all three of them scarred and bonded for life. The writing here is rich, deep, evocative and gripping.
Nobody's Angel
This is where things get just a little sketchy - though still phenomenal. Marc has gradually faded away from the BDSM club he owns with his other 2 military buddies, favoring solitude and time in the mountains as a SAR (search and rescue) to getting up close and personal with women he doesn't want any kind of relationship with. Understandable, considering what we learn about him in Masters at Arms.
But when he rescues Angelina from being abused on a St. Andrew's Cross by her abusive boyfriend Allen, his life becomes irrevocably changed. Angelina flees the club as soon as possible and writes off BDSM, choosing to stick with her novels instead, and Marc is left with scalding memories and an inability to track her down. It is by sheer chance that he ends up in her town, 3 hours out of Denver, on a SAR mission with his partner Luke, in the same bar where Angelina decides to go on her first night out on the town since "the incident."
Let the fireworks begin!
Angelina doesn't remember Marc, as when Marc rescued her at the club in Denver, he had a mask on and she couldn't see his face. Marc isn't the only one who's been troubled by dreams, however, land something about Marc - the way he handles her, the way he speaks - reminds her more and more of her "dream Dom" - one she has managed to convince herself doesn't exist.
Now let's throw in Luke - guilt-ridden Luke, who lost his wife the same day that Angelina lost her father (another SAR man). He is convinced, however, that Angelina was sent to him by his late wife - on account of a dream. What a cluster.
Marc wants to help Angelina move on from her horrid experience at his club. Luke believes his dead wife has sent Angelina to him as a sign to move on - with her. Apparently both men are willing to step away to allow the other to move in, though it's almost like a tug-of-war in terms of who backs away when.
In the end... I won't spoil it for you. Pretty much everything comes out in the open and it's a gigantic cluster.... but it's a fun one!
On the Characters...
Now, I absolutely love Angelina. Truth be told, I think she's the most well-rounded, realistic and unique individual of the three. Her psychological and emotional responses to her initial experience with BDSM, her "wolf-angel dream Dom", Luke, Allen again, and just... everything. Everything about her is wonderful.
We don't get a lot of genuine screen time with Luke, which is disappointing. I hope we see more of him, because he seemed to kind of fall in the space between "true supporting character" and "crowd character." I'm honestly not sure what his purpose in the book was, other than the fact that Marc needed a SAR partner, so it was decided he'd get thrown in the middle with Angelina and Marc as well. I really believe the book could have done without him, though.
Marc... the number of times I wanted to smack him across the face and shake him by the shoulders... I lost count. I'm really starting to get a little tired of the "I'm not the man she needs" kind of crap from what are otherwise strong, capable men. I have seen that done a million times - and very, VERY few times has it been done well. This is not one of those times.
Some notes:
This is just what I noted in my Kindle as I was reading...
1. How many times can a guy's cock harden before it can't get any harder? I mean seriously. I think we heard about Marc's cock getting hard a dozen different times in a 12-hour period. Oh, but then we find out it's just been hard for about 24 hours. Even better!
2. Bad guys in romance novels, especially when the bad guy is a bad guy because he has an obsessive interest in the heroine, need more screen time. Not just "evil plans" screen time, but something to make them a 3d character that, at the very least, we can hate. Allen just annoyed the crap out of me, simply because he was distracting.
3. If you've had the unlucky experience to have a "dom" use a BDSM scene to abuse you, you don't go from total panic to total acceptance in the space of a heartbeat. When Marc used the flogger on Angel and she's freaking out because that's what Allen had used on her, she goes from freaked out to "deep breath" mode in less than a heartbeat. I'm sorry, that just doesn't happen. Especially not your first or second time out with the thing.
4. This goes for any erotica novel with dialogue during the juicy stuff. If you don't understand the dialogue, you need a better lover. I can imagine soooo well what Angelina's experiencing, because of that dialogue.
In the end, I think Masters really needs to find a better balance. She goes over the top in some areas and doesn't flesh out others nearly enough.
Started out really weird but after the first three chapters I fell in love, really not liking Adam and Karla though becuase that age difference is awful
Masters at Arms (Rescue Me Saga 0.5) Wow! What an amazing, intensely heavy and a little emotional intro to a series. I absolutely love the way this is written and its very unique. Ive never read anything that has been introduced this way. Masters is a master at her character development and I definitely feel connected with every single person.
We get 3 different back stories on how these men came to form a bond through military and BDSM. I can NOT wait to read all their stories. I am especially excited about Damian’s and Savannah’s.
Nobody's Angel (Rescue Me Saga #1) Angelina's first visit to a BDSM club is a very horrific experience with her so called Dom. Marc is the floor supervisor/co-owner of the BDSM club and stops the scene between the two newbie's and rescues Angelina from any further torture from her inexperienced Dom. Angelina has an immediate impact on Marc's defenses. Well... I can't really say anything else without giving anything away.
Not a dull moment in this book and I loved every bit of it. There is a lot of kink mixed in with a well written story and it's so delicious. For me this book felt like a guide for submission and peep hole into the BDSM world. I was surprised at how emotional I got towards the end.
At the beginning of the book there is a list and description of who each character for this entire saga. Unfortunately, I think that made it confusing, because then I kept trying to remember how the characters were connected when I was introduced to them in the story. There are 2 books in this bundle, which was fine. It just made for a long book. The title on my kindle didn't say "Masters at Arms & Nobody's Angle (Rescue Me Saga 1 & 2). It just said it was Saga #1. What was irritating is that I really liked Damien and savannah storyline (in Masters At Arms) but we don't get to their full story until you buy book three. So I read all of book 1 and start into book 2 and keep waiting to get back to Damien and Savanna.....and it never happens. I only read part way into book 2 before I skipped it altogether. There were too many characters to keep up with and the ones I was interested in, were in another book.
Master at Arms- 3.5-4.0 stars, this was a great introduction to the series getting to know the main characters that will be the focus in the upcoming books. I enjoyed each of their stories and they for sure left me with wanting to read more about each men.
Nobody's Angel- 3 stars, I liked this book OK but did not love it. I ended up not liking Marc all that much and I did not really feel the connection between him and Angel. I enjoyed the hot scenes and reading some of the other characters. I felt as though it was emotionally flat however and then at the end it just seemed really rushed. Looking forward to reading Adams story next hoping for a better out come.
For those into BDSM, this is probably a walk in the park. But it's difficult to see the whole thing as anything but degrading. The hero contradicts himself in that he disapproves striking a woman, but thinks it's just dandy to spank her. Um, last I looked, spanking was striking. Both hurt. There's no pleasure in that, at least not for me.
These were two great stories! I enjoyed ALL of the characters, except Asshole Dom although what happened to him twice was awesome. LOL The very last sentence at the end of the epilog was like a punch to the stomach. Nice or evil cliffhanger depending on how you look at it.
Masters at Arms In this short preview, we meet Adam Montague, a 42 year old marine suffering from the loss of his wife, the only woman he loved, and his sub. At an all time low in his life, with not much “sense of purpose” left, he is on his way to report for his next deployment when he comes across 16 year old Karla in a bus stop, determined to run away to New York City to be “discovered” for what she believes is a talent that is at its peak, as a goth singer/song-writer. When trouble in the form of a pimp and his goons comes her way, the young woman, having lived a sheltered life so far, finds herself scared to death with nobody to help her out of a situation that could prove to be her demise. Being a marine in Adam’s eyes means to protect, not only his country on foreign soil, but those who need him, here at home. Will he be able to rescue Karla? Or will this “Master” find himself giving up on life completely? Warning: Once you start, you’re not going to want to put this down! And be prepared to want more from this extremely talented author. Nobody’s Angel Wow! I’m not sure how she does it, but Ms. Masters takes the deepest and darkest subject and turns it into a story that not only will you not want to miss, but will have your heart and emotions ricocheting off the walls, from page one until the last word. Her books are real, and makes you feel like you are one of the characters, that you feel their pain, sorrow, happiness and of course, their love. As the saga continues, we catch bits and pieces of all of the crew, but in this particular book, be are blessed with the struggles, and the “coming together” of Marco and Angelina, two stubborn Italians that have many past hurts that they will have to hurdle, alone and together, in order to find their happy ever after. I’m not sure it’s possible to not fall in love with these characters, as we follow not only their struggles, but also witness their accomplishments. A beautiful story most definitely worth the read.
Three men that are bonded by war and a penchant for BDSM open a club together. Hopefully to heal their wounds from war and the women they left behind.
We get to meet Marc D'Alessio, Damian Orlando, and Adam Montague before they became brothers in the Marines. The characters are well defined in this story and we see what makes them tick. They have all lost someone special to them and two of them find who they are meant to be but not at the moment of their first meeting. Each struggles with his own demons and nightmares and don't think they are good enough for anyone.
Nobody's Angel continues and is the first novel that revolves around Marc as he meets his Angel. Well Angelina Giardano to be exact. Only Marc keeps women far away from him emotionally. He is part owner of a BDSM club with Damian and Adam and it's there that he save Angela the first time.
She wants to experience what being as sub is about as per the romance novels she reads, she is curious but her first experience may be her last but Marc shows her how good it can be. She slowly breaks down his walls but there will be hurt and withdrawl along the way, Marc is a commitment phobe and Angelina has his tied up in knots. He also has her tied up in knots but she is in danger and she needs him.
The story is powerful and the characters are intense, all of them. The story is well told but there were some slow parts. The characters are real with real emotions and real issues. Some of them horrific but they are all survivors in their own way. There is also a paranormal element here that I liked as well. Loved ones leaving messages from Heaven. There is heavy BDSM and sex but Ms. Masters does a good job of educating the reader about the lifestyle, she has done her research. The characters drew me in as did their stories. I will definitely read the next installment which continues with Adam and Karla.
I didn’t enjoy this and that’s a personal preference as I don’t like any form of sharing in my books.
Got this as a free Amazon promo:
Review of Masters at Arms: Nothing much to say about Marc and Adam.
However, Damian and Savi’s story made me uncomfortable. It just didn’t seem plausible that she would want to have sex with someone else hours after what she went through. I was also disturbed by Damian’s scene at the club with Marc and the redhead. I just felt that it was surprisingly, perhaps too intimate - given that Damian still seemed hung up on Savi. I guess in my romance choices - I’d prefer not to read about my book heroes with other women, or at least the scenes with others should be with some degree of detachment and or at least, different than how they would be with someone they have feelings for. To be honest, if I’d known such a scene would be included, I’d have skipped it.
Review of Nobody’s Angel:
Didn’t connect with the couple. Also wasn’t too comfortable with the Luke bit here, especially as I know he is paired with someone else in a later book. I never like reading about book heroes (from other books) connecting sexually with a book heroine they don’t end up with - especially when the same heroes are then paired up with others and - they all hang out as friends! I guess the BDSM aspect made it acceptable to some degree, but it felt weird because it seemed Luke did have feelings for Angelina. I don’t like to read such tropes / situations in my romance (and that’s a choice / preference). I’ve read BDSM where there was no sharing and I’ll stick to those moving forward.
Hmmm so many raving reviews, personally I am rather underwhelmed. The first novel is an introduction to the lives of the main dominant characters, frankly, I skipped some parts as I wasn't all that interested. The second novel is all about Marc and Angelina's journey and - as far as BDSM novels are concerned - felt very instructional at times.
Generally, I am not overly interested in BDSM stories that focus too strongly on training, proper postures, when to speak, how to behave according to protocol. Frankly, I find it rather boring. The chemistry between the two MCs is great, the BDSM aspects (the reason why I read a BDSM novels in the first place) felt drawn out and sometimes rather unrealistic. I am all for great doms who focus on the heroine's pleasure but it takes ages until Marc gets his first release and blowjob and fo all the waiting this scene felt rather callous.
The heroine previously had a bad experience with another dom and altogether comes over as conservative and inexperienced. Yet when she meets the hero and his friend she participates in a menage like the suavest and most experienced of characters. Duh. C-
