New York Times Bestseller

Whoever said living well is the best revenge never met the Sisterhood. . .

Together, the seven fearless friends known as The Sisterhood have served sweet justice to villains who thought they were above the law. But payback has its price, and the Sisterhood's last assignment almost landed them in jail. Now the women are fugitives with a bounty on their heads, but they're not planning on hiding out for long--not when good friends need the kind of help only they can give.

Mitch Riley, the ruthless assistant director of the FBI, intends to frame Cornelia "Nellie" Easter, the judge who helped the Sisterhood evade prison, and their lawyer, Lizzie Fox, in order to save his own career. He's created a special task force to hunt the Sisters down. Mitch has the entire FBI behind him, but he's about to discover that he's no match for seven formidable women with an unbreakable bond and a wickedly cunning plan to bring the fight right to his door. . .

Fern Michaels isn’t a person. I’m not sure she’s an entity either since an entity is something with separate existence. Fern Michaels® is what I DO. Me, Mary Ruth Kuczkir. Growing up in Hastings, Pennsylvania, I was called Ruth. I became Mary when I entered the business world where first names were the order of the day. To this day, family and friends call me Dink, a name my father gave me when I was born because according to him I was ‘a dinky little thing’ weighing in at four and a half pounds. However, I answer to Fern since people are more comfortable with a name they can pronounce.

As they say, the past is prologue. I grew up, got a job, got married, had five kids. When my youngest went off to Kindergarten, my husband told me to get off my ass and get a job. Those were his exact words. I didn’t know how to do anything except be a wife and mother. I was also a voracious reader having cut my teeth on The Bobbsey Twins, Nancy Drew, The Hardy Boys, Cherry Ames and the like. The library was a magical place for me. It still is to this day. Rather than face the outside world with no skills, I decided to write a book. For some reason that didn’t intimidate me. As my husband said at the time, stupid is as stupid does. Guess what, I don’t have that husband any more. Guess what else! I wrote 99 books, most of them New York Times Best Sellers.

Moving right along here . . . Several years ago I left Ballantine Books, parted company with my agent, sold my house in New Jersey that I had lived in all my married life and in 1993 moved to South Carolina. I figured if I was going to go through trauma let it be all at one time. It was a breeze. The kids were all on their own at that point. The dump was a 300 year old plantation house that is listed in the National Registry that I remodeled. Today it is beyond belief as are the gardens and the equally old Angel Oaks that drip Spanish moss. Unfortunately, I could not get my ghost to relocate. This ghost has been documented by previous owners. Mary Margaret as we call her, is “a friendly”. She is also mischievous. It took me two weeks to figure out that she didn’t like my coffee cups. They would slide off the table or counter or else they’d break in the dishwasher. I bought red checkered ones. All are intact as of this writing. She moves pillows from one room to the other and she stops all the clocks in the house at 9:10 in the a.m. at least once a week. When the Azaleas are in bloom, and only then, I find blooms on my night stand. I have this glorious front porch and during the warm months I see my swing moving early in the morning when the air is still and again late in the day. She doesn’t spook the dogs. I always know when she’s around because the five of them line up and look like they’re at a tennis match. As of this writing we’re co-habiting nicely.

Most writers love what they do and I’m no exception. I love it when I get a germ of an idea and get it down on paper. I love breathing life into my characters. I love writing about women who persevere and prevail because that’s what I had to do to get to this point in time. It’s another way of saying it doesn’t matter where you’ve been, what matters is where you’re going and how you get there. The day I finally prevailed was the day I was inducted into the New Jersey Literary Hall of Fame. For me it was an awesome day and there are no words to describe it.
I’ve been telling stories and scribbling for 37 years. I hope I can continue for another 37 years. It wasn’t easy during some of those years. As I said, I had to persevere. My old Polish grandmother said something to me when I was little that I never forgot. She said when God is good to you, you have to give back. For a while I didn’t know how to do that. When I finally figured it out I set up The Fern Michaels® Foundation.

I felt like this book was a made for T.V. movie. It is a simple read with not much depth or originality. The book is about 7 women who form a vigilante group called "The Sisterhood". The book tries to establish the fact that women can do basically anything men can do. I feel the book fails to accomplish this, because every move and decision the ladies make is controlled by some guy named Charles. Basically, the women are a bunch of puppets on a string for the male dominant character.

I love that Fern Michaels admits she is not a great writer but one hell of a storyteller, which is why I adore her Sisterhood book series. I read her books as dessert — in between book club books/historical fiction and nonfiction — wonderful guilty pleasures that never fail to amuse. Simply, they make me smile, something we all need in our lives. It is also why I rate them five stars. Not for literary genius but for great stories filled with characters who love and respect each other and take on the villains in their world.

🌼 Won in a giveaway 🏵

This was a fun read. Despite it being the 8th book in a series I haven't read before (the giveaway sounded good. Figured I'd give it a try and I'm glad I did) and don't know the characters very well, I enjoyed the story. It's about a group of vigilante women who are in hiding and on the move. They're pretty funny and sassy in their conversations. I liked them. I don't really know to an extent what they did in the previous books. Maybe I will check them out sometime though. Thank you to the author, Fern Michals, Zebra Books and Goodreads for my free copy of this book. Happy reading!! 🌏✈️⏰️

The seventh book in a series about the Sisterhood, seven strong women vigilantes. After running away, they return to the States to dispense justice on the FBI assistant director who nearly caught them. Also to protect a few friends, a judge and their lawyer.

Will they get caught finally or succeed? Despite having not read all of the others in the series, this one had less of the oomph of the other ones. It almost seems like an after-thought and a set-up for another. Not my favorite of Fern Michael's novels.

OK, by now, I'm just sick of the series. I really liked it for awhile - I loved the idea of making up for horrible wrongs, but by now it's so repetitive I can't even care anymore. The newest sister Annie drives me up a wall. The "punishments" for the bad guys are stupid. I'm over the group of women and their shenanigans.

Sisterhood #8
related series Men of the Sisterhood
319-page Kindle Ebook ends on 305

Genre: Thriller, Romantic Suspense

Featuring: Author's Bibliography, Barcelona, Spain; Holes, Wealthy Socialites, Recap, German Shepard, On The Run Trope Vigilantes Women's Club, Corruption, Montana, Paranormal Activity, Stereotypes, Washington D. C., Obsolescent Language, Profanity, Over The Top Drama, Sneak Peak for Truth or Dare - Men of the Sisterhood #4 Prologue through Chapter 2

Rating as a movie: R for adult content including violence

My rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️🙈🙉⚖️

My thoughts: 🔖Page 25 of 319 Chapter 3 - I'm mostly reading this book to guarantee I use the Kindle app every day this month. I'm 98% sure Murphy was a Golden Retriever but now he's a German Shepard, unless the other dog was the Golden. Anyway, these plots are getting weaker but they are terrible yet, hopefully, the insulting dated language stops, they already called Japan a third-world country.
🔖57 Chapter 7 - Jack still has a job? Really! Just ridiculous. They are spoonfeeding the reader and it's annoying.

I'm officially done with this series. I'm going to remove the rest of the book from my library to guarantee I don't read the next one. The series has become comfortably silly, except it's not my type of comfort. It is riddled with offensive jokes, I'm too young for this writing and really need to move on to books I fully enjoy.

Recommend to others: Only if you're interested in cozies with blood and don't mind dated jokes and repetitive dialogue.

When the Sisterhood finds out that the assistant director of the FBI is planning on framing their friends to save his job, they come out of hiding to take care of the problem.

Boy, are these girls good. All of their unique talents put together make for one interesting and well planned mission. I really like how the author adds in the human element and changing the game plan when another character does something unexpected. It makes the story seem more like real life.
Harry Wong and Jack Emery plan a pretty important part in this book. With the girl across the ocean it’s up to them to put things together in the states. I don’t like how Nikki and Yoko have been separated from the men they love, but I know it will all come together at some point.
The revenge the Sisterhood lays down on the AD of the FBI is brutal and smart. They have all the paperwork they need to take him down, but first they have to inflict some physical pain (it works into the end game). Just thinking of what they did makes me cringe.
The book ends with the Sisterhood back over seas and a whole new group at Mira’s house in the states. I can’t wait to see what these two groups will accomplish together.

This was one of those life is too short books. The whole premise of this book-which is, unbelievably, the 8th in this series, is that a group of vigilante woman are getting revenge on men who have done them wrong. The writing is stilted, the characters border on the ridiculous (I mean, come on, a former English secret service guy who doesn't have anything better to do than run a 'war room' for a bunch of revenge seeking women)?

**This review is for the audiobook on Audible.**

Hide and Seek by Fern Michaels, narrated by Laural Merlington is one of my favorites in The Sisterhood series. I've listened to all the books in the series (up to this point), and I just LOVE them! The character development is great, and the storylines are fast-moving. I adore every single character, especially Charles! There are a lot of characters to keep track of, but Laural Merlington's performance as narrator makes it a breeze. I think she does a phenomenal job staying in character, especially during conversations. I'm amazed by her consistency, and I find her to be very entertaining!

I see this Hide and Seek is marked both as Book 8 in The Sisterhood series and Book 1 in Rules of the Game series. Truthfully, I can't really imagine enjoying this audiobook as much, if I hadn't started at the beginning of The Sisterhood series; I would probably be a bit lost. I definitely recommend you start at the beginning with Book 1 of The Sisterhood series, instead of here with the Rules of the Game series. Doing so will give you a deeper appreciation for and understanding of the group, as a whole. You'll learn the who, why, what, and how of the Sisterhood, which will make your overall experience so much more enjoyable. In no time at all you'll make your way back up to this book...I promise! They are addicting!! Happy listening!

Thank you for reading my review. I hope it was helpful. :-)

The Sisterhood made a mistake with their last caper and were caught. Lizzie Fox, their intrepid lawyer, represented them in their arraignment against Jack Emery. Their judge was Judge Easter. The Sisterhood plead not guilty and after arguments from both sides were given ankle bracelets and remanded to Myra's farm until trial in about ten days. They had a seven mile radius they had to stay in which was Myra's farm. Jack ended up with a ten thousand dollar fine and two days in jail for contempt when he vehemently objected to the Judge's ruling. So, the girls retreated to the Farm. For three days, they relaxed and read the mail they received, lots of it. They they fled. They ended up on a mountain on an belonging to Spain that Annie had inherited when her husband died. Charles had been making arrangements for the mountain to be a safe haven for them, so all the amenities were there as was a duplicate of their war room.
Meanwhile, back home, the assistant director of the FBI was simply irate that the girls had given the FBI the run around for so long and were now out of his reach. So, he decided to use the case as the basis of showing how good he was and getting the publicity by going after Judge Easter and Lizzie Fox for aiding and abetting the girls escape. Will he be able to get that done with the girls out of the States and unable to return?

The Sisterhood's last mission didn't exactly go according to plan, thanks to Ted Robinson and Maggie Spritzer and their ignorant interference. Throw in a few other missteps, and the result was a successful mission, but the Sisterhood is now considered fugitives. Their 'hood has grown by both genders, and months of tense hiding out and rigorous preparation lead to them sneaking back into the U.S. to block FBI AD Mitch Riley from falsely accusing and framing Judge "Nellie" Easter, Attorney Lizzie Fox, DA Jack Emery, and Harry Wong among others to further his career (or so he believes). The Sisterhood receives help from an unlikely source and successfully blocks Riley from his nefarious plans. The mission ends with the OG Sisterhood seeking refuge on their mountaintop retreat and a second group of vigilantes taking up the torch at Myra's Pinewood home outside of DC. Watch out, world; the Sisterhood is expanding in its mission to see justice happen.

The improbability of this Sisterhood and its members grows with each book, yet I can't stop reading them! What I'm glad of is the lack of, uh, physical intimacy descriptions. I'm thrilled Michaels isn't writing sex books thinly veiled by vigilante justice. The cover art almost tricks one into thinking they might be. *whew*

A novel where a group of intelligent and talented women that have made their jobs as vigilantes in the United States are not only on the run, but headed back to the country for an even riskier mission to upheave the man trying to ruin the lives of them and everyone that has aided them along the way. It’s full of clever tricks, plot twists, well-built and strongly intertwined characters, and a great happy ending.

Having never read any of the books in The Sisterhood before, I admit I wasn’t sure if reading number 8 was the greatest idea. But this was actually a great read and I got through it relatively quickly from how fast paced and easy to read it was. I love the wit and distinctness to the personalities of these girls and their friends and loved ones as well as the way they pulled off the main objective of this book (wording carefully so as to avoid spoilers). I wouldn’t mind reading the other novels in this series someday for sure.

The "Sisterhood Series" sort of ended after book 7 - since all of the original team's revenges had completed. This is now both a continuation and a new series - as Fern Michaels explains in the intro that she is responding to reader requests for more. The team has now expanded not only in members but in scope.

The plot continues to be the main attraction of these books. Character development and internal story line consistency are still weak. However, it was refreshing to see less violence in this story.

This quote from the book is a perfect explanation of the appeal of this series:
" He was all ears and eyes as he listened to the women, who rattled off ideas and suggestions at the speed of light. ... To say he was fascinated, mesmerized as well as horrified, was to put it mildly."

This is a book that isnt as compelling as the others . I liked it but it doesnt live up to my standards for this series which are usually very high. The whole thing about the Sisterhood dumping Jack and Harry for a while feels absoutely ridiculous. Also the idea that Mitch was able to blackmail Lizzie Fox out of nowhere for nothing more then the fact that they used to be together seems ludicrious. I do like that the black mail records were destroyed so they couldn't be used to ruin lives. I also like that the person who brought down the director of he FBI was actually the wife he underestimated and ignored.
I really liked the punishment that the Sisterhood dished out . I did find the idea of the Sisterhood agreeing to a survival camp on top of that mountain to be really unlikely.

Phew boy!! With the sisterhood on a mountain top and secluded from the world. They get very grumpy with each other and kind of start placing the blame on others. No one really is to blame for them being there. If it wasn't for Myra, Charles and Annie. They wouldn't be on the mountain.

After Yoko's mission they find themselves in jail, then out of jail. Monitors on their legs. They each wonder why and if they should leave and face the world on their own. Then they all decide hey we are in this together, lets clear our name.

I can tell you this though the reporters have gotten on my last nerve. I am glad Jack has joined them and saw the light on what the sisterhood is really about.

I do like Annie and her snappy come backs.
Feels like this one was a bit more action packed.

This series is a group of ladies who search for justice for those who fall through the cracks. If you’ve ever dreamed of payback to someone who never seems accountable this series is for you. The Sisterhood, a group of women seeking accountability for wrongs done and society protecting certain evil individuals.
It is somewhat liberating to read these books and see that justice can be obtained in what is outlandish ways. Michaels weaves a story of intrigue, justice with a little love thrown in. It is a pleasure to read this series.

Like any series, some miss(like the previous one) some are average and occasionally one excels. This one was average but the previous one was so awful that it made this one seem better than it was. The series is becoming splintered with too many characters and it creates a more helter-skelter plot. Chaos seems to be in charge. Having read a much later book in the series, I hope things settle down soon.

Hide and Seek

I love Fern Michaels and the Sisterhood series is so entertaining. This book is number eight in the series and I am ordering number nine. The stories are about a group of mostly women vigilantes. The first group was formed when one of the women's pregnant daughter and New born baby were killed and the killer had immunity and so began the group which grows a little bigger with each book and now they have men joining as well.

The ladies are back in America and going after the FBI director who nearly nabbed them. Their methods of attack aren’t as brutal and vicious as they once were. The books are getting stale to me. I do still enjoy them, but I think the series has just gone on to long. The author is trying to take it in a new direction and has given the series a new name, but it’s the same women doing the same thing. Still enjoy Fern Michaels though.

This is another book in the Sisterhood series by Fern Michaels. In this novel the women and men of the group attempt to bring down an enemy who happens to be high up in the FBI organization. Added to the usual characters and taking more prominent roles are DA Lizzie Fox and Judge Nellie Easterly. There is a lot of action in this novel, but I would have liked to have enjoyed more plot and character development. As usual, Ms. Michaels gives her readers a fun experience.

Another good Sisterhood book.. The ladies always come thru and have even gotten a couple new converts. The news reporter is an interesting twist.. Annie is proving to be a force to be reckoned with in some funny ways.. Can only wait to see how Judge Easter developes.. But what happens to Asst Director Riley is the best part of the book. He soooo deserves his "rash"... Ready to start the next book.
