Take a ride with Angel, a sixteen year old Harlem girl as she experiences love, heart ache and betrayal for the first time in her young life. Angel soon realizes that it’s always those you are closet to who can hurt you the most because they are the ones you put your trust in. Will she retaliate against those around her who have caused her pain or will she learn forgiveness? Run the streets with Tyga a young thug fresh from the pen after serving a yearlong bid for a gun charge. He’s just trying to make some money and mess with as many bitches as possible. It wasn’t in his plans to fall in love that is until he meets Angel. He thinks it’s going to be another hit it and quit it, but she manages to get under his skin in a way no one else has managed to. Now he finds himself building a life with her but Tyga still can’t seem to give up his player ways and its beginning to affect his relationship. To make matters worse someone in his organization doesn’t want to see him at the top and is trying to take him down by any means necessary.
Simone Angel Silver and her cousins Daisy and 'wild card' Keya are ghettofabulous teens living fast. Angel and Daisy battle themselves as well as others for cheating boyfriends all the while Keya has no qualms about spreading her love around generously. Ricardo Ernes Grant III aka Tyga enters the scene with swag and oozing sexiness, a man about his business and his money becomes enamored with the oh so beautiful Angel. Angel's mom, Mina hates to play the role of mother because she is trying to keep the attention of her young lover, Boss...even at the cost of betraying her only child.
Tyga is a fearless, cocky, stubborn, and business savvy young playa, although digging Angel, he still wants the bonuses that come with being a boss. Angel chose Tyga over her childhood love, Jayvon, but is she jumping out of the skillet into the fire? Tyga's world comes with a lot of drama, from thirsty h0e$ wanting her position, to deceitful alliances as well as drug wars that think nothing of her but a mere casualty. Is Angel truly worthy of the love she yearns, her father hasn't ever given it to her, so why would the man that has stolen her heart and her most treasured prize? Will Angel continue to allow men and circumstances to treat her sheisty or will she stand up and walk away from them all? Can cheating relationships conquer all for these young women or will the victims overcome the adversity and realize their true value and shine brilliantly? Love, loyalty, and innocence are as riveting as the arrogance, infidelity, secrets, jealousy, betrayal, drug wars, steamy love scenes and murder that rip throughout this read fiercely and guarantee an unforgettable yet beguiling introduction to simply Loving Angel. Loving Angel is a mellow read with just enough hiccups to captivate the reader with engaging characters and storylines. The development of the plots and characters were on point, while the spelling, grammar and punctuation were the most noticeable vice. This had the components to be one simple read without the need of a continuation of the story but I still highly recommend it and deem it mos def a Worthy Read. 4****
Another winner by Carry Lowe. Angel is a tough cookie. She was raised by a neglectful mom who is still trying to sow her wild oats. She grew up in the hood with all kinds of temptation and her father is off busy with his other family. Through all of this, Angel remains fairly normal with goals of going to college. After breaking up with her boyfriend, she meets Tyga. They have an instantaneous attraction that is off the charts. Although she's underage, their relationship blossoms into something more, but Tyga can't let go of his whoring ways even while trying to be a better man for Angel. This is one of those books where I find myself overlooking the cheating because the other women "don't mean anything" to the men and then I have to check myself because these guys need a good ole fashion kick in the ass. The fact that I empathize with characters like that makes me realize that the author is doing her job of keeping me connected to the characters she's created and I'm hoping these people change for the better. There was so much backstabbing and dysfunctional behavior, I just couldn't look away. It was interesting to see how Tyga and Angel's relatlionship weathered the street life they were so immersed in and how they had each other's backs. I especially loved Angel's character because she was no pushover. She didn't let anyone disrespect her, including Tyga whom no one who was sane would mess with. She stood by her mom, even when her mom didn't deserve it and was loyal to her friends. Exciting read with great characters and loads of action.
The members of DRMRAB Columbus had the pleasure of reading Loving Angel by Carry Lowe. We mistakenly thought this would be another pretty girl falls for bad boy scenario but the story line played out to be so much more. Angel the main character just wanted to be loved and accepted by her family. By day she hung with her cousins but by night she was shielding herself from the preying eyes of her mother's young boyfriend. Until she gets a lover of her own that threatens to totally immaculate the young boss and When the family business takes a new direction well...let's just say all hell breaks lose. We as a group gave this read 4 stars as it was very captivating and played out well but did have grammatical errors and some chapters felt like they needed just a little more. Overall this was a good read that made us want to continue this series.
First let me say that this was a very good story. I hope one day the author has the time to clean it up a little, and then it will be great. The story started off very slow. I'm not a big fan of stories about Chicks that are so beautiful that everyone wants them.Angel was that girl. The long hair, pretty eyes ECT. There were times that I was sick of her, but then the story took off. I didn't expect the ending, and I am excited to start part two. I want to keep up with this couple, because something tells me that there's more drama.
Good book. Loved seeing how the relationship between angel and tyga developed. There was times he annoyed me though example with him sexing other girls but yet getting mad at the thought of her fighting over her ex. I also wanted angel to grow a backbone sometimes for eg when she confronted him about the condoms. She let him in back too easy. She did a mistake by messing with kit but tyga had no right to put his hands on her like that ESP when she was pregnant. It was hypocritical lol but that's most men for you. Keys keys u r so a witch even tho u saved angel in the Ed u r 2 much of a snake just like boss. No loyalty. Mina u r a mess. Get it together. Daisy, u need to value urself more. Good book tho.
Warning: Abuse, attempted rape, domestic violence. I liked this book initially because I wanted an urban story. I knew what I was getting into and for most of the story I enjoyed the ride. Angel was very weak once she was in a relationship and it was a train wreck to watch. She was also a bit of a urban Mary Sue. She has light skin, long "real" hair, and body dudes are always drooling over. Apart from that I liked her. Now her man Tyga was pure evil. I could rant about his stupidity for days, but I won't because I'm stressed enough. Just know you will pull your hair out reading about him. His pov's usually made me roll my eyes and I could have lived without it. Interesting array of characters. You've literally got the whole hood. The ending was very rushed and Tyga was still a loser.
This book kept me entertained. The writer is very detailed with her writing making you feel like a fly on the wall. There were so many unpredictable twists to the story it kept me guessing.
Angel is only sixteen but she is like a dream come true for playa/whore Tyga. He falls in love with her fast but he has this double standard where he can do who and whatever he wants but when it comes to his girlfriend she better not. Throw a jealous and evil twin brother, a low down backstabbing cousin and a mom who acts like the daughter instead of the mother in the story and you are definitely in for a pageturner! I loved all the characters except Boss.
Angel did well for someone who practically had to raise herself. Mina wanted to be her friend instead of her Mother. Her father let his wife come in between them & her siblings didn't like her cause of their mother feelings towards her. Tyga was a good guy until you got his temper wrong. Some of the stuff he does to her if I was her I would of left him alone. Boss needs to grow up how the h3ll are you going to be in relationship with her mother & still trying to sleep with her daughter? Boss got what was coming to him
I can't wait to 1 click book 2. I didn't know if I was suppose to love or hate Angel. I was young once. and made similar decisions as Angel. I hated her and Tyga relationship. she wasn't on his level. Boss crazy ass made the story which gave the story so many twist and turns. The ending was so sad. That's why I need to stop this review and 1 click part 2.
I found the book to be ok. There was a whole lot going on and I didn't particularly enjoy the way the characters developed. All the men were your standard bad boys and all the women were stuck on stupid. Some of the events that unfolded were pretty predictable and left me with no desire to continue on with the series.
Mom Mina is so full of drama and Angel is her rock. Thru the ups and downs of life, love, and all it's changes, this family stands together. The storyline is interesting. The characters are developing as you read further in the chapters. I am reading books by Carry Lowe an author that's fairly new to me. So far it's a very good read.
This book was too good to put down. No matter what Angel went through she was always there for the ones she loved. But as everyone knows to keep your friends close and enemies closer. Her cousin was a mess but she did come to he rescue when needed.
I rated this book four stars based on how much I loved the good and bad twin element of the plot. A player that only wanted sex ended up needing more than he expected from a girl like Angel.
book is very good from beginning to end can't understand how a brother could hate his brother so much, took father out even tried the little brother envy is serious!!
I was a little sceptical about reading this book but boy am I glad that I did. This book was a great love story with love betrayal and deceit. I really recommend this love story I'm surely going to purchase part 2.
I actually enjoyed the storyline of the two main characters. It's very different from the other urban hood books we all love to enjoy, I highly recommend it
I thought this book was a really good read, a page turner! I got the book off amazon for free but it was a teaser, so I had to buy the book to finish it and I was not disappointed. I do recommend.
I love Angel and Tyga together couldn't stand Boss and Keya, but was happy when Keya come though in the end for Angel. Mina, need to grow the hell up, hope the author more about Angel and Tyga.
I had this book sitting in my kindle for a minute. I finally decided to read it and I am totally pleased that I did. Great story line and great character development. Moving right on to part 2!!!
