Heather let her eyes wash over him. She couldn't help but stare at his muscular arms as he took off his backpack and set it on the floor. He had a tight, black T-shirt on, low rise jeans and perfectly white sneakers. He ran his hand through his thick, black hair and smiled at the women. Heather couldn't believe that the boy she had once known had grown into a big, strong, man.
"What's the occasion?" he asked, as he pointed at the bottles of alcohol.
Steph looked at Heather, she didn't feel it was her place to tell Hudson about what had happened. Heather was too busy letting her eyes roam the body of the strapping young man that stood in front of her.
"Heather."
She snapped out of the daze and looked at Steph.
"Hudson asked why we are getting drunk, tonight."
Heather turned back to Hudson and their eyes met. She could feel his deep blue eyes looking into her soul. His stare made her suddenly feel vulnerable, almost naked, but in a good way. She cleared her throat and looked down at her empty shot glass.
"Nick... he left me last night. He ran off with his young secretary and left me holding divorce papers as they sped off."
